  1. And why exactly does anyone think SF would trade him? After the game, Harbaugh indicated he may start ahead of Smith next week. SF has no big committment to Smith and drafted Kaepernick 36th overall. He is not going anywhere. Also, while people are understandably down on Williams as he has had a tough second year, he looked great last year and everyone was saying what a steal he was. Way to early to give up on Williams, and yes, the Bills did need a CB. Guess what folks, they will again this year. McGee is done and McKelvin is likely gone.
  2. Urbik is on a one year tender, that doubly sucks then with Levitre possibly on the way out as well. Boy sure about Chad.
  3. I think you reallyu mean Andy Levitre so I will assume that. I think the chances of resigning either of these players is going down exponentially week by week. This is less an issue of money available than the state of the team. Both of these players will be highly prized free agents, perhaps the best available at their positions. I just do not see them commmitting early to the Bills given the continued losing. Perhaps had the Bills done more to show significant turnaround and real competition witht the better teams in the league Nix could have made a case for both of them to stay. (still not too late for this but looking unlikley) As it is, these guys would be crazy not to shop around. They are both going to get big contracts.
  4. The IR'd two players yesterday, a CB and a OL, and cut Potter. They only added Easley, so this fills out the 53. Not sure where you get this conclusion based on two injured palyers being sent to IR, and cutting an ineffective kick off specialist, but carry on.
  5. Looks like McGhee is out. They would not have activated Brooks if he was not ready to play. Rhinehart is a big loss. The number 3 Guard is now Sam Young, with Urbik coming off injury. Big dropoff.
  6. Yes, time to reflect and regenerate hope. With you there.
  7. I hate the bye week also. Top two reasons: 1. I am not really interested other than the Bills 2. There is no actual Bills football related news so TSW is totally relegated to mindless speculation like "lets trade for Tim Tebow".
  8. If Tebow is such a gret leader, why has one team dumped him and another thinking about it? It seems to me this is more a sign that he is a devisive influence rather than a leader.
  9. I have read a great many ignorant posts on this board but yours has got to be in the top ten of ignorant comments all time. Congrats!
  10. Perhaps we can throw Fred into the Mario Williams for John Skelton trade suggested on his board last week. He should be worth something after recognition on this list!
  11. This one had me scratching my head too. Those are decidedly not the Bills weaknesses.
  12. Why does anyone think the new owner would want to retain him? Certainly cannot be his record since with the Browns. No thanks.
  13. First, I did not give up my seats, which I had for 25 years, to prove a point. It was getting very difficult to get to any games given other committments in any case, and I would have ultimately done so anyway. However, in those 25 years and the 10 years of going to games prior, I had never witnessed the type of callousness and idocy I did that day. It was widespread and out of control. There were always fights in the stands and parking lots, and I did my share of drinking and being rowdy as well, but I was embarrassed to be a Bills fan that day. Thats the only point.
  14. I was at this game. The behavior of the "fans" in the stadium was disgusting that day. There were loud cheers when Johnson was hurt - much more than a few. All day, there were fights in the stands between the Flutie and Johnson proponents. I had my 11 year old son with me at that game. It was embarrassing. To that point I had held on to my season tickets after 15 years living outside of The Buffalo area, but dropped them the next year and have not been back. Sadly, many posters on this board display the same sort of attitude.
  15. At least the NFL offices can recognize an illegal hit. Too bad the officials on the field cannot.
  16. I never expect anything more than the typical "woe is us" BS you express here after any loss, but one thing to keep in mind is that it is really boring. It would be nice to just once come to this site, whether win or loss, and be able to engage in a rational discussion but I no longer expect it. Instead it is constant whining, no analysis or discussion (with a very few notable exceptions - you know who you are), and people feeling sorry for themselves. Reasons not withstanding, this is really boring. If you are that miserable, take the OP's suggestion and go elsewhere, or have something meangful to say about the game or the team. Lest you think this is personal, just lumping you in with the rest.
  17. I guess the NFL should cancel the last 3/4 of the schedule if the season is over. Two bad halfs of football do not constitute a season, no matter how bad they were.
  18. If you have actually seen the Ravens play this year, there is a noticeable slide in heir defense. They are just not as good as their reputation right now. Suggs makes a huge difference, but also consider that Lewis and Reed are at the end of their careers and not the same players. Besides Ngata, they are nothing special on the D line. I think the Bills D has the potential to be much better than the Ravens this year. Still have to prove it by being consistent.
  19. The big deal is that players and coaches are very specifically barred from ever touching an official, for any reason. It is the same in every sport. His reason does not matter. If it was a player, or probably if it was another coach, he would be sitting for at least 1 week and maybe more.
  20. If Fred is back, I would be shocked if Chan risked any further injury to Spiller by rushing him back. At best, he is on the game day roster for emergency and/or misdirection purposes, but I even doubt that.
  21. I heard on NFL Network earlier that they were close to a deal. I would not jump to the conclusion they will work this week's game. That would seem to be unreasonable given the timing.
