  1. who needs an architect for a cross, for crying out loud, it's 2 sticks
  2. Brian May of Queen isn't gonna be too happy about that
  3. agree 100% and Bill in NYC's weekly recap is one of the best parts of the regular season. We have a great group of knowledgeable fans, and I appreciate the effort
  4. LOVE Roxy Music, not as big a fan of solo Bryan Ferry, but Roxy was awesome looking at the set list, i somehow thought Avalon and More than this were solo Bryan Ferry, those 2 especially, while nice songs were a huge departure from the classic Roxy
  5. like JR stated, I think my expectations were a bit skewed, plus i probably did it for the wrong reasons....regardless it all worked out in the end, hell, i got to be in town when SU Hoops won the Nat'l Championship, so I had that going for me.
  6. Did that in 2003, moved back to syracuse for a year, and you're right, it was a disappointment. went back to Richmond as soon as we could
  7. Only thing I'd allow myself to miss are the people I'd met. I've moved to new areas 3 times and have forced myself to not look back and compare places to each other. In my experience it's been my way of making my moves successful. I've loved Syracuse and Richmond and now Philly. Hopefully I won't have another hometown, but if I do, I'll embrace that place and make it my new home with zero regrets
  8. Used Uber last night, both times drivers were there in 5 minutes, first driver even walked into the beer store with me because he'd heard about it and wanted to check it out. I didn't tip either driver.
  9. what's a state? i haven't lived in one of them since i left NY
  10. thanks for the link, heard about the nytimes interviewing him, i will say as much as i love his interviews, he really does cut them off too often and interrupt them in the middle of them saying something, and I get he has to direct the interview so as to not get to tangential. Just sometimes gets annoying
  11. I had a recruiter email me in response to a conversation we'd been having since last week. He asked me what $$ amount would entice me to make a move. Having a job made it easy to seriously inflate the amount. I'm OK where I am, but if they bite, I'd probably jump in a heartbeat
  12. valley forge is a literally virtual pokemon breeding ground....screw history, i tried to catch em all
  13. Just be vewwy vewwy quiet, better chance of bagging something
  14. jaco was amazing, he's pretty legendary around the philly area
  15. saw a whole slew of bands this weekend that fly under the radar but shouldn't, among my favorites of the 30+ that were at my festiva l(http://xpnfest.org/lineup/) Ryan Adams, probably not unknown, but certainly not as known as he should be Femi Kudi - legendary Afro-bear performer Fela Kudi(seriously, check them out) David Wax Museum OJR(Oliver John-Roberts), the Acid Cowboy The Districts
  16. they've been doing the wheel a lot which is a good thing in my book, they are really taking the tempo down, probably to accommodate Bobby, but Mayer, Oteil and Chimenti are really adding a ton to the music. Love it when Oteil joins the Rhythm Devils, he is pretty amazing
  17. isn't it great?? all those 'purists' who are snubbing them because of Mayer are really missing out on some damn good shows. On a funny note i read an article about the whole Mayer thing and there are people calling this band Dead & Bro, that made me laugh, i thought it was cleverly funny! http://pitchfork.com/thepitch/1233-coming-to-grips-with-dead-bro-john-mayer-and-the-improbable-live-rebirth-of-the-grateful-dead/
  18. HA!!! for the longest time, i couldn't stand Nick Cage BECAUSE of raising arizona, something about that movie just grated on my last nerve, as did he...i got over it though
  19. yeah, it's underwhelming, rogue is pretty adventurous, but mostly in name and theory only, other than their voodoo donut series, rarely do they live up the hype, in my opinion
  20. i've had the beard beer, weasel poop beer, have looked for the bull testicle beer, but can't find it around here. i'll pretty much give anything a shot....except radishes, they can rot in hell
  21. curious as to why you choose to go the route of abandoning something you love instead of seeking out tossing some beaver salad....seems like a glass half empty kind of attitude
  22. while it is mostly true, i just read that the amount of castoreum consumers consume per year is roughly 292 pounds total, so i am pretty sure they found alternatives, you are safe, and hell, up to 5 minutes ago you loved it....don't be scared.
  23. i checked the google machine and it appears to be a pretty accurate thing, i want to know who the first person to discover it was....
  24. also foolish for wanting to be married...but that's a whole other topic
