Devin Singletary - Will he be playing for the Bills this year?
MWK replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We probably will not get rid of him, but he is on a short leash. People seem to forget he got benched during the Kansas City game. I don’t think we should give up on him, but he does have some serious limitations, like his slow speed. I wouldn’t hate drafting the right RB at some point, and Singletary is not going to stop them from doing it if there is a running back they like somewhere in the draft. If we don’t draft a running back, he needs to have a better season or he will be gone after this year. -

Addison, Jefferson, and Butler must go. None of them provide any value we couldn’t get in the draft or off the scrap heap. I pray that they cut them, but fear they wont because of “continuity.” Continuity doesn’t matter if the players aren’t any good. Brown and Smith will also go, we will need the money. Hughes doesn’t do much but I think they’ll keep him. No idea on Morse, I’m not sure they like him very much anymore but I’m not sure they’ll cut him.

Update: Dave Culley expected to be Texans HC - John McClain
MWK replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thank you. One of my biggest fears is that Boras could take over after Daboll leaves (unlikely, but you never know). As you said, he is extremely incompetent as an OC, those Rams teams had some of the worst offenses I have ever seen in my life. He is just completely out of his league. Who knows if he’s a good tight ends coach, but if we are seeing him run an offense, we are in more trouble than when we had Dennison. -
Yep, that's who they cut. But Terrell does have some serious issues at safety

It's year three and Edmunds hasn't shown much improvement. I know he's young, but he is very below average. Never makes a big play, and always seems to lose his man when he drops into coverage. He is also a very bad tackler. I don't think he's bad enough to cut or anything, but the extension talk for him is insane. Paying him is a move we will regret. I don't even know if it's a good idea to pick up his option, which will be for about 14 million. Oliver I'm not sure on. He has stretches where he plays well and seems to be coming on, but then he does nothing for a while. Some of it might be scheme and the excessive rotation we do on the D-Line, but I'm not sure. I'm not ready to give up on him yet, but we need some improvement from him next year.

Buffalo Bills Offseason Primer. State of the Bills.

Pretty much agree with everything here. Would love to have Milano and Williams back, but the cost will be too much. I think Feliciano is overrated and we shouldn't pay him too much, but I think we will unfortunately. Agree 100% on Edmunds. You would be insane to extend him based on how he has played. He is not a playmaker, he rarely makes any notable plays, and for someone so good at coverage, he gives up a whole lot of passes. Probably pick up the option and see what happens, but without major improvement, see ya. We have to cut Addison, Jefferson, and Butler. All three were overpays this offseason and they paid us back with minimal production. Cut your losses and move on. -
DE Trent Murphy-NO TE Tyler Kroft-No, we didn't use him at all late in the season LB Matt Milano-Maybe, if the price isn't too high CB Josh Norman-No thanks OL Ty Nsekhe-Yes, he is a good backup if he comes cheap OL Jon Feliciano-No, I think he's overrated and will be overpaid come free agency. Good dude and not bad, but will be overpaid OL Brian Winters-NO WR Andre Roberts-Yes OL Daryl Williams-Yes, he has been pretty good this year and we don't have a replacement for him QB Matt Barkley-No, we should upgrade RB Taiwan Jones-Why not RB TJ Yeldon-I would, but they clearly don't like him for some reason. S Dean Marlowe-Yes WR Isaiah McKenzie-Yes, such a useful player CB Levi Wallace-Yes, will be cheap. Don't mind him as long as he isn't a full-time starter LB Andre Smith-Who cares Cut DT Vernon Butler-Easy choice with Star coming back DT Quinton Jefferson-Major disappointment, has barely made any plays DE Mario Addison-Has done nothing to live up to his 3 year contract WR John Brown-Love the guy and would love to keep him, but the cap math probably won't work out

We need to cut Butler, Jefferson, and Addison. None of them did anything this year, all were major disappointments
-
I like Brown, but we are going to have to cut him for cap space. Hopefully Davis or another addition can replace him.

32 rush yards from our running backs

Singletary is a RB3. We need a serious upgrade at RB so we can actually have a diverse offense -
Chargers to Hire Brandon Staley as HC (not Daboll)
MWK replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hopefully Daboll doesn’t want to go to the disaster in Houston or to the Eagles. We might be able to keep him! -
DiMarco cannot do anything. He had a grand total of 6 carries in 3 years for us.

Bills signing Kicker for playoffs, in case of emergency

Great move. Should have done this all year just in case. -
Leslie Frazier interviewing for Texans job
MWK replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like a good guy, but he is likely not getting hired. 61 year olds rarely get hired as head coaches, especially ones who weren't that successful, so I'd guess it's unlikely. Good luck to him though, hope he gets the job. -
Could see him getting another HC job this year, he did win a Super Bowl a few years ago, but the end of his tenure was a disaster. Wouldn't shock me if he was Daboll's replacement either.

Round 1 Playoff: Colts at Bills - Sat. 1/9 1:05pm

I’m not saying that Stills is a superstar, chap. The Texans chose to move on from Stills because he was in the final year of his deal and they knew he wasn’t coming back next year, so they decided to give him a chance to catch on with a contender. All I know is that he is still an NFL-level player while Duke belongs back in the CFL or XFL. I am also scarred from the inexplicable decision to bring Duke up last year and target him 10 times, which partially cost us the game. There is a reason that nobody has even tried to sign Duke off of our practice squad in the last two years, and that is because he is not an NFL player. And before someone says that the coaching staff knows more than me and that he could have been good in practice, there is a reason he was only activated once all year and never played. If he was so good, they would have brought him up or actually let him play receiver at some point. I pray that he doesn’t actually play, because if he sees meaningful time at WR, we will be in trouble, just like last year. I know everyone loves him because they think he is good for some reason, but he is clearly not. -

Hopefully Duke doesn’t drop an easy touchdown this year and cost us a game. I don’t care that Stills doesn’t know the system, he is lightyears ahead of Duke as a player. Hopefully it won’t be another year where we inexplicably try to throw to this loser in a playoff game. -
I think Butler and Jefferson have to go. Both are overpaid and have done little. Justin Zimmer has outplayed them both for a fraction of the price. I know McDermott likes to rotate and that they all have different roles, but we might be able to get better production for a lot cheaper.

I like Feliciano and think he is a good guy and a solid lineman, but I think he is overrated by this board. If we pay him 8M+ a year like some want to and lose Williams, I think we will regret it. He is a solid guard, but should not be too highly paid. Guards can be found, and are not worth paying a premium for. Just look at Boettger, who was an undrafted free agent and has done pretty well. We also have Cody Ford, who the Bills seem to love for some reason despite underwhelming play. Ford at RT was a disaster, and if he is going to be in the lineup it would be a lot better if he was at guard. I would much rather extend Daryl Williams at 11-12M a year, because losing him leaves a much bigger hole. He has done a great job this year, he should definitely be the priority over Feliciano. We also definitely need to bring back Milano, as long as his contract isn't too crazy. I think we will cut ties with John Brown to save money, which is unfortunate, and we will have to replace him somehow. Could Kenny Stills be an option to replace him on the cheap? I think we also have to cut 2 of Jefferson, Addison, and Butler due to their salaries and meh performance, and will need to find replacements for them. Hopefully this can be done with some lower level free agency signings or the draft. I'm very excited for the offseason (after our long playoff run), I think we can make a great team even better.

Bills will be working out QB Chad Kelly
MWK replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we can upgrade from Barkley, but not with this loser. I understand bringing him in for intel, but the only reason he's even still bouncing around is because of his uncle. I don't want him anywhere closer to the team than this workout.
