Scouting The Tennessee Titans (Week 6 2021)
JohnNord replied to Dont Stop Billeiving's topic in The Stadium Wall
I went back and reviewed the game and the reason the score was so lopsided was mainly because the Bills turned the ball over and gave Tennessee the ball on short fields, which to their credit, they all turned into TD’s. The defense also struggled badly against Tannehill when he scrambled and had no answer for AJ Brown. Surprisingly, they did ok against Derek Henry. Had they made a stop before the half, to prevent the 21-10 deficit, it couldn’t been a different game in the second half. I think a lot of this was due to injuries on defense. Instead, Josh seemed to be in that mode where he tries to do too much. Because of that he passed up a short completion and threw a bad INT to put the game out of reach -
Scouting The Tennessee Titans (Week 6 2021)

Sounds like the Tennessee defense is a lot like Washington. Some good players in their front 4…marginal players on the rest of the defense. Could be another Cole Beasley game -
I wouldn’t say paper tigers, but I did think that their struggles toward the end of the season could be indicative of a bigger problem in the playoffs. I never bought the fan base excuse that they were “bored.” Unfortunately we had to wait until after they beat the Bills for them to play terrible but there were signs of weaknesses before then. Unfortunately Mahomes along with Hill and Kelce, to a lesser extent, cover up a lot of issues Watkins was injured half of the time in KC. He was active last season in the Super Biwl and it didn’t make a difference.

This is completely true. Sorensen reminds me of a Mark Kelso or a Jeff Wright. Players who weren’t really great but that you didn’t notice because they were never relied on thanks to the around them - or in this case, the talent on offense. Once you realized you should’ve upgraded from them, it’s usually too late

I’m all for bringing in anyone to help boost our chances in the postseason. I think the ship has already sailed on Ertz though. He would play the same role as Knox without the downfield speed (for a TE) and doesn’t offer much in blocking. Using Ertz as a 2nd TE would also take one of our productive WR off the field. I guess he could spell Knox but Dawson’s already playing a lot of snaps. So for the amount of usage that he’ll see as Knox’s replacement, I don’t think I’d give Philly a 4th

I think we are missing some context of the story. The fact that he’s calling him “Mr. Editor” is a little weird Most of the “NFL Insiders” are like Jason LaCanfora or Ian Rapaport. You see this all the time during hiring season for coaches. Surprisingly candidates who belong to the same agency suddenly become “hot” candidates

Hyde and Poyer are definitely under the radar but they can in and solidified the defensive backfield for 5+ positive seasons. They have to be in contention. One suggestion I would make might be Ted Washington who essentially did the same thing with the Bills DL. Ted and Bryce Paup were two players that were perfect additions

What good are draft picks going be. The Bills are trying to win super Bowl this year!
-
I get that he’s been inactive but he also hasn’t played much and given his position flexibility, speed, and length, I see him as a situational player.
-
I would not mess with our defensive line. Bills are a legit Super Bowl contender and that 6th round round draft pick in 2022 won’t mean anything if it means losing a productive player at DE this year.

Of course…I was at the game. But what happened to that team? I remember old Aaron Schatz used to appear on Schopp and the Bulldog and crow about how “historically good” the 2019 Patriots team was - especially the defense. By December they struggled to beat the Bills, lost to the Dolphins, and got smashed by Tennessee in the playoffs. So much for historically good

Josh Allen's sack rate this season - 2.7 percent
JohnNord replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fascinating… it’s interesting how some great QB’s are able to mask a average to below average offensive line. Despite the low percentage, I don’t think any of the lineman have a high individual rating for pass blocking so far. Johnson was brutal with holding onto the ball. It’s was gave him several concussion and likely shortened his career. I remember that Bledsoe was a statue in the pocket and was responsible for many sacks -
If you are into the Bills or any sports team you’ve probably encountered the occasional clickbait article. Recently, my browser landing page has pointed me to several of these from Heavy.com. It’s a blogging site who covers the Bills beat on a subpage called Heavy on Bills. https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/ While many of the articles simply regurgitate what already being reported, this site will frequently produce a comedically bad clickbait article about the team. I’m finding 1 or 2 each week. Case and point - there is an article titled: “Bills Head Coach Throws Subtle Shade at Jaguars’ Urban Meyer” What did McDermott say? Simply that we went back to the office after his flight from KC. The author claims that some online speculated it was a shot at Meyer. I don’t think it was and even if people did speculate that why report it? This reeks of desperation. https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/sean-mcdermott-urban-meyer-twitter/amp/ How about this one from last month: Bills QB lgnored Coach to Throw ‘Unbelievable’ TD to Stefon Diggs The article says nothing about Allen ignoring McDermott and simply echoed one reporters inference of what ‘atta boy’ might mean - which I believe was sarcastic: https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/josh-allen-touchdown-stefon-diggs/amp/ Here’s one post-Washington: Bills HC Reveals Honest Opinion of Washington QB Taylor Heinicke The inference here is that “honest” is going to be somewhat controversial or at least insightful. All McDermott said was that Heinicke was “a good quarterback.” So honest. LOL https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/sean-mcdermott-wft-taylor-heinicke/amp/ Here’s the last one: Bills Running Back Could Be on Hot Seat After Coach’s Comments He the author takes conjecture by Jeremy White and runs with it as though it’s a fact. I feel that claiming he’s on the “hot seat” seems like a more of an embellished way of inferring less carries. https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/bills-devin-singletary-hot-seat/ Just some funny headlines I thought fellow Bills fans might be a kick out of.
