Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract

Agree while Josh enjoys 4 more years of $ and no contract or injury concerns. Injury with respect to the $ to be clear. -
Lamar Jackson wants guarantees that exceed Watson contract

A deal that will never recoup the $30M that Josh has earned over him the past 2 years in particular. If he signed in 2022 as he could have. Perhaps JA’s agent proactively reached out to the Bills in 2021? Lamar had no such expert doing so on his behalf. He may surpass Josh on average for a few years.. but it would have to be by $30M over the next 4 years. Then Josh signs his next contract in his prime around the age 29 or 30. Not trying to be disrespectful or difficult but he’s not gonna make up the $ or the relationship with the Ravens. PM JA JB get that part of it. It’s not the diva WR it’s the face of the franchise. -

JA has or will make $ 85M at the same time Lamar has made $55M .. the Josh contract has had a big signing bonus. Anyway you look at it he has lost significantly by not doing what Josh did. -

A contract that will never catch up to what JA already has in his bank account. -

By not signing a similar contract to JA at the same time Josh did. It has cost him between $30-40M through this year. Assuming he signs for only the $32M and not a long term context. Numerous people have articles or podcasts on it. JA has earned $85M while Lamar has earned around $55M give or take as stated above. -

Well right now pretty much anyone has a better idea than what Lamar is doing. He will never regain the $ he’s lost. So it’s incredible that that you think it’s incredible 😂 -

Well they offered him 6 years $ 175m and total of $290m.. seems they have the $ and offered it to him. The OBJ contract is beyond foolish! But the Lamar offer that he turned down is worse. -

Demonstrates poor leadership. Not understanding his market. Taking negatively about the team that was the only one to take him in the first round. They believed in him and built a unique O around him. His repayment is to seek an unreasonable contract. So even if he comes back the relationship has been hurt. OBJ for one year at silly $ really should make no difference to Lamar as his long term may not benefit from having him one year. -

Embarrassing to go race card with Lamar. Bill Polian got destroyed for saying pre draft he didn’t think Lamar was going to be a good NFL qb for his passing ability and skill set. Not because he was black. He has been proven wrong to some degree. Numerous posters have explained the why and the logical reasons that Lamar isn’t getting what he wants. He owns about 90% of his current situation. He should take accountability for that. One question GM’s and owners have is what kind of leader gets in the situation? You combine that with all that has been posted about health, playoff results, and passing ability and here you are. -
With 6 picks and needing 3-4 significant contributors I don’t see it. Let’s say they move up for Johnston WR from TCU.. do they give up a 2nd or a 3rd? If 2nd then the LB’s Campbell and Sanders are out. Leaving the 3rd for an OT to compete w SB. Essentially, means LB starter will be on current roster.
-
That’s fair. The TCU WR would be a great addition to the Bills. But overall light on the top good value in 2nd-4th. I like Mingo from Ole Miss in 3rd or 4th. Pharma rare disease on the West coast.
-
You are probably right. Once the first round is done QB’s do fall. He could go as late as 5-6th round.
-
3rd round #76 right about where HH will go this year imho.
-
Campbell or Sanders are both gone by 50. Elite WR’s are gone as well. A rebuilding Tampa is giving us its #1 next year that’s likely a top 15 pick. Hmm.. Just not seeing your premise but I do like your tenacity. I’m in sales I could use your energy on my team.
-
Why would the Bills actually select HH at 27? To flip him in some deal? When ? Why, if he has first round value would the Bills simply make the trade with the team clamoring for HH? Taking him and hoping for some value that may or may not happen is simply illogical. He’s not a first round QB, and so typically after the first round run QB’s pick back up in the 3rd or 4th round. Bucs and Ravens would be the possible teams of interest along with Dan Snyder’s outfit.
-
Distant as in another galaxy. JA is not 35… yikes. If someone values HH at #27 super, the Bills trade down. Who after the first 4 are gone will need a QB? Levis may not go in the first so I don’t see anyone making a deal. More importantly the Bills have several needs that don’t include their incredibly valuable first round pick.

Good athlete but certainly not in line with replacing Edmunds without significant coaching. He’s a pass rusher type more than coverage LB. Micah Parsons light vs Edmunds the coverage LB. Bills are not picking this particular fella unless he falls to the 3rd and he is put on the edge. Great value at 33-48 if we go that route with Campbell. But who cares if we take him at 27. We need about 3 key spots filled in this draft. # 1 is LB. If he goes at 27 it means they think he’s the immediate starter and that’s ok with me.

The criticism from McBeane isn’t negative. It’s a protective approach and seed planting with Josh. They aren’t saying Josh needs to protect the ball better which they certainly could. Obviously I think Josh understands it and is aware of it. And, he will consider it, and then do what he wants. Maybe the first half of the year he will try. But it energizes him and guys like Judon hope he stops running.
-
I agree. He’s been more of an edge rusher and a good one. But not been in the coverage aspects of the D much. If we had the mike solved already he’d been a great add. But I think Campbell Henley Willams are a better fit. If the 2nd or 3rd is an OT i would like it much better. Don’t see Smith lasting to the 5th. Mingo may be close. He’s got the physicality and good speed to be a nice addition.

Judon knows the deal. He also knows Josh isn’t changing. McBeane have it right but Josh is exactly what Judon described. He plays better that way. Be interesting to see if he can change. I for one want him to play his game.
