20 years ago I would have paid 100 bucks to watch this fight. Zero chance I’m paying 50 bucks to watch this fight now. These guys are both decades past their prime
Cards from that era were just way overproduced. And everybody kept them too thinking they’d be worth money some day. There’s just a lot of them out there today. I’m currently sitting on 10 Jim Kelly rookies probably worth about 10 bucks a piece
I keep thinking that I should have bought more. But I don’t want to be like these other guys. I’m not a flipper. I enjoy the hobby. I do sell cards on eBay but I’m more of a collector
The market is insane right now. These guys are taking these 20 dollar boxes and flipping them for 80 bucks a piece. Until people stop buying them at that price it’s going to stay that way for awhile
Today I went to Walmart to get some groceries for Thanksgiving. Now mind you I’ve been going to my local Walmart at least once a week for the last 3 months to look for cards and it’s always completely wiped out. Well today when I went there was a group of dudes hovering by the card area. The distributor was there stocking the shelves and my heart skipped a beat. It was like I saw a freaking unicorn. I waited there an hour and a half to wait for her to be finished. These guys had shopping carts and filled them up with cards. I mean thousands of dollars of cards. I was able to get 6 blaster boxes of NFL Illusions. I guarantee it’s completely wiped out again, but I was literally shaking with excitement that I was finally able to score some stuff
