What Changes Would You Expect If Steelers Win?
newcam2012 replied to Dick_Cheney's topic in The Stadium Wall
I happen to think your very question in the thread is 100% valid. I didn't see it as negative, disrespectful, or condescending. It's kind of the elephant in the room scenario. I mean did anyone hear Josh Allen after the game. He flat out said the AFC division title is nice but it's not the goal. It's about moving on and beating Pitt. Progressing towards the SB. Yes, the team went on a great run to accomplish the AFC title. However, losing to a vastly inferior Pitt team at home would be demoralizing and almost disastrous. Truthfully, I don't even want to go here. Thus, the elephant in the room. -
What Changes Would You Expect If Steelers Win?

I don't think this is the case. It's really difficult to hate or dislike McD the person. I won't go into detail but it's pretty clear he's a man of religion and character. Sure seems to be a compassionate man. I think the McD dissenters comes from his playoff blunders, Xs and Os mistakes, and not getting the team to the SB. Both are vastly different criteria. No Bills fan in there right mind would advocate for a loss on Sunday for the reason of disliking McD. I think your post is really disturbing. Slinging mud to sling it has no place here. Go Bills!!! -
What Changes Would You Expect If Steelers Win?

There will be talk about how they were emotionally drained after going on their run. Injuries hurt the team. Then McD and Beane will sell you some more fools gold. Who's buying? -
Vrabel would be a nice head coach for the Bills. Tough hard nosed guy. Fits the Buffalo culture. Just don't like that he's not offensive minded. No huge advantage over McClapper. Hard pass.

Agree 100%. The numbers back this up too. Allen was 30-38 for 350 yards. The running game with Allen was decent too especially in big 3rd and 4th downs. Yet, the Bills offense only mustered 14 points. Not good! The offense during this 5 game winning streak hasn't been particularly good or clicking on lots of cylinders. The Bills defense has been very good. The poor Steeler offense shouldn't be very successful on Sunday. The best path for a Steeler win is the Bills beating themselves. -

Also, look for a quick strike to Perkins or Johnson. -

Probably true. Can you see the Bills beating themselves? -

Depends on how bad the conditions are. The Bills have the obvious better QB by leaps and bounds. As a result, the Bills passing game is a huge advantage. I've seen reports of wind gusts up to 50mph and winds in the 15 mph to 25 mph range. Even Allen with be hampered by these types of winds. So yes the conditions very well can negatively effect the Bills more than Pitt. Hope that helps. Steeler fans will travel they always do. They are a great fan base. No way will they make Highmark Stadium a home game. -

He might get lit up and still win the game. The Pitt plan is pretty simple. Run the rock, make a few explosive passes, play great d, and get turnovers. Win ugly. They can if they get the bad version of the Bills. -
I agree. I'm not even thinking about the potential next opponent. This Bills team has won some pretty ugly games. Last five games they have won. Chiefs: Very fortunate to win. Offense struggled. Cowboys: Great win! Chargers: Very fortunate to win. Offense struggled. Patriots: Very fortunate to win. Team looked off. Dolphins win: Too many turnovers. Big special team's play was a game changer. Escaped with a win. Have the Bills really played well in their current 5 game winning streak? The offense continues to be a big question mark. Whether it's drops, poor protection, Diggs question marks, and or bad Allen The Bills defense has been able to finish out the games. Nevertheless, winning 5 straight is very impressive even if it's mostly ugly. The resilience of the team is quite impressive. On paper, the Bills are a much better team than Pitt. They should win the game.

What makes you think Stroud would struggle any more than the norm? He did play plenty of bad weather games at Ohio St.

Not great for the passing game. Weather advantage to the Steelers. -
Because the bix was crowed and McDaniel's thought he best path to victory was throwing. Come on Mikie it's not that hard to understand. You asked what adjustments that was it. I hope Mikie gets it.

You can't play scared or not to lose. When you are the better team you stay aggressive and put the inferior team away early. You have to trust the players to execute. My real concern is the weather might negate aggressive play calling. -
I echo this sentiment totally. I'd take it a step further and advocate a similar thesis for the last 5 or 6 games. The McD D has been the key to the current run. They definitely have been closing out games unlike in the past. I was critical that his defense was unable to finish. However, I have to give him his flowers. He crowed the box to stop the run. Forcing Tua to beat him with his arm.
-
Not sure how you can't view him as a GOAT. The numbers back it up and it's not even close. Of course, Brady had huge implications to his success. However, you can't use that against him. The has a total of 8 super rings in his coaching career. Come on man let's get honest here.

I agree but I have some concern that the longer the game stays close the better the Steelers chances are. I think it's the exact way the Steelers want to play. Hang around and hang around and finish the game. It's been their winning formula this year. Instead, I would like to see the Bills come out very aggressively and go up two scores. I don't think their offense is capable of coming back. -

Pitt will utilize their QB as a game manager. He will only be asked to make a few big plays and avoid the big turnovers. Rudolph has sonewhat shown he's capable of doing that. Whether he does who knows. Pitt will try to win playing tough defense, getting turnovers, and pounding the rock. They have a nice one two RB duo. Pitt is playing with "house money." They have nothing to lose. Their path to victory is pretty slim IMHO. One last note is nasty weather could really help out the Steelers since they don't have a very good offense. -
Welcome back. Being in the penalty box sucks. A couple of days is not too much to endure. Mine was long and seemed like forever. I think some missed my activity.

It's hard not to cheer for McD. His character is phenomenal. I'm really happy for the way the Bills finished after being 6-6. Things looked pretty bad. McD has to get credit for rallying the team. His defense has absolutely got it done down the stretch. I say this with me being a pound the drum guy for a coaching change. I still have ambivalent feelings about that. It's playoff time and the Bills have to produce under McD. I hope like hell they do.

The Gabe Davis conversation (Allen with and without Gabe)
newcam2012 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was thinking the same thing. Now that's strange we are on the same page. I sure hope you are right about the SB. My thought process is this. The Bills are far too inconsistent from game to game or even quarter to quarter. When they are in they can beat anyone. Vice versa. I just fear at some point that inconsistency is going to come back and haunt them in the playoffs. However, their resiliency is off the hook. Go Bills! -
I'm really happy the Bills are playing Pitt. I think they might be the worst playoff team. However, Tomlin will have his boys ready. They will really try to pound the rock and come up with a few big plays. Pickens, Warren, and Johnson have big play ability. The Bills should win but they can't sleep walk, play sloppy, and not execute. Truthfully, the Steelers are playing with house money and have really nothing to lose.
-
Unbelievable. I didn't see that coming. I don't even think the Bills played their best during the six week period. On a different note, I'm a little worried about the injuries the Bills occurred tonight, especially Douglas
-
That was so much fun to watch. That was truly like a playoff game. A roller coaster of a ride. This team is dangerous both good and bad.
