How can anybody watch that game say that he didn't take the quick underneath stuff? He threw 26 attempts (55%) within 5 yards of the LOS and 35 attempts (74%) within 10 yards.

I was about to say our backs are too slow, but I rewatched motor's rookie highlights and pretty much all his best runs were to the outside. And despite their woes this season, the bills still have some really good athletes on the offensive line.

It was an RPO so the offensive line was run blocking. The dolphins sent more guys than we had blockers so Josh kept the ball and threw the quick route to Diggs. His only job on an RPO is to either get a handoff or to just act like he's getting a handoff. He wasn't anyone's responsibility because the Dolphins sent more men than we had blockers. That's why Josh didn't hand it off and threw the quick pass.
