  1. Deal breaker in year 3 after a solid year 2 in which he led you to the playoffs? Man Buffalo fans are tough.
  2. The results certainly don’t seem to be there. Take a look at the last five QBs to be drafted top 3 Jameis Winston Marcus Mariota Mitch Trubsiky Baker Mayfield Sam Darnold Kyler Murray
  3. I like Burrow, but I still think the QB position is as hard as it’s ever been to evaluate from an NFL standpoint. Part of it is the fact that these QBs are coming into the league incredibly young and fans expectations are outrageous and completely out of line.
  4. how do you evaluate 20 year old Josh Allen at Wyoming or 21 year old Daniel Jones at Duke compared to 22 year old Joe Burrow playing with an elite team?
  5. I wouldn’t enshrine Burrow yet. It won’t be this easy going up against the Steelers defense behind the Bengals oline.
  6. Lawrence footwork and mechanics need improvement. I don’t see future hall of famer right now. Obviously has ability.
  7. Lawrence has a little Darnold in him with regards to poor footwork and mechanics. He will need to clean that up at the next level.
  8. It will be interesting how Burrow adjusts. This is the first time all season he’s faced any adversity.
  9. The unfortunate reality that Haslam/Browns need to realize is that analytics in the NFL is a mixed bag. This isn’t baseball where you play 162 games with hitters getting 600 plate appearances and pitchers pitching 100-200 innings. There is a legit sample size there that you can work with. NFL Football? It’s 16 games with a ton of variables. let’s take a look at when to go for the two point conversion for example. Coaches cite going with what the chart says as if a conversion is a coin flip (league average). The reality is if Luke Falk and the Jets are attempting a two pt conversion against the Pats in New England they are going to convert far less than half of the time.
  10. Jackson is better from the pocket than people give him credit for-the kid has an absolute cannon. That said-Baltimore needs to self scout after this game-60 drop backs and 20 rush attempts is not sustainable.
  11. Paying an ILB 17MM a year was pretty stupid, but CJ Mosley at least is the type of guy who will always play hard. A lot of these guys mail it in once they get paid. Look at who the Jets recently gave out big $ to: Darrelle Revis (2nd tour was a complete mail in) Mo Wilk (Mailed it in) Trumaine Johnson (Mailed it in) CJ Mosley (Injured) Kelechi Osemele (sued the team) LeVeon Bell (Ineffective) The best free agent moves are often the ones you don’t make.
  12. Romeo Crennel at 73 years old should not be calling the defense. That was an embarrassment.
  13. Clowney and Yannick are going to break the bank. Those contracts typically don’t work out.
  14. That game reminded me so much the the Jets vs Steelers AFC Championship bout in 2010. Steelers got off to a quick start, Jets come roaring back in the 2nd half, and Big Ben converts two killer third downs to end the game and Jets lose by 5. Nothing’s worse as a fan than watching your team not get the ball back in that situation.
  15. Would have liked to see Wilson have another shot. Oh well. Killer drop
  16. My god the level of QB play I’m watching is phenomenal.
  17. Exactly-both QBs are incredibly young and lacking requisite surrounding talent on offense. Fans expect these kids to come right in and carry the team, but that’s unrealistic. Trubisky on the other hand is entering a make break season and QBs a team is win-now
  18. He’s going to want to follow the Ryan Tannehill model and sit behind a young QB on a short leash. I don’t think either the Jets or Bills are there yet with Darnold and Allen. I could see Chicago being an interesting fit as Mariota would fit Nagys system well IMO.
  19. Walsh set him up with a hall of fame QB and probably the best player (non QB) in the history of the sport. Flores absolutely deserves to be in the Hall of Fame in some capacity (player/coach combo). He was definitely a trailblazer (Hispanic).
  20. To be fair I don’t understand why NFL teams don’t value the backup QB position. It’s widely considered the most important position in sports so why not add competitive depth? What’s the downside of adding Mariota for teams like the Jets and Bills? It’s going to make Allen and Darnold sweat it out? Isn’t that a good thing?
