I can't find anything on this, but was Tim Settle fined for his bogus RTP penalty against the Bengals?

Topics like this remind me of a line from the movie Stand By Me: "I Never Had Any Friends Later On Like the Ones I Had When I Was Twelve."

I appreciate the explanation for the amount of the fines, but doesn't the NFL have the discretion to waive fines, if they deem that the flagged offense is not worthy of a fine? Clearly, the NFL can impose fines on plays on which no penalty was called (e.g. the cheap shot by Volson on Hyde). Along those same lines, did the NFL deem Taylor-Britt's slide tackle on Kincaid to be a clean play?

I don't see the Bengals winning an SB. Offense is incredibly mediocre in the post-season.

Is it unreasonable to ask the defense to come up with a turnover? 1 in 4 games is absurdly embarrassing, injuries or not. If the backups can't be expected to perform at an NFL level, then that's on Beane.

Never mind sacks, it didn't seem that other than on 2-3 occasions, he was getting push in the pass game (on 45 dropbacks, I believe). The TFL in the run game were on perimeter runs.

McDermott would be proud of this answer. the defense allowed Burrow a season high in passing yardage, and didn’t force a throw into harm’s way all night. 1 turnover forced in 4 weeks.

If we are going to link investment to expected performance, then maybe it’s time for the DL, with its big money players and 1st round picks, to step up and make plays in non-blowout games.

Nothing about the challenge or end of half. started out blaming the kicking game and offense. A reporter asked him why the defense hasn’t had an INT in over a month, said it was likely due to lack of pressure. Didn’t talk at all about the defense until he was asked about it
