Comparing this game to Bengals playoff game
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Ga boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Lol making excuses for the bills opponents to cheapen two wins against 15-2 teams then calling the other person misguided. Riiiiight I think this ‘chiefs playoff stride’ thing is absolute utter nonsense, those bills chiefs games are full playoff atmosphere with both teams emptying the tank and like the playoff games they could each go either way easily and that’s even before factoring in them having an undefeated season on the line. Chiefs definitely sleepwalk at times in the regular season but never in huge games like that. They have honestly usually looked their worst to close out the season and sharp earlier so I’m not even sure what a late regular season ‘playoff stride’ even looks like for them. But while we’re on the topic of playing your best football at the best time, that 2022 bills team just didn’t feel like it was doing it and many posters called it out not just the usual negative suspects lol I don’t think an advanced total season metric like dvoa really could’ve caught that situation well I’ve got no issue with the hindsight point at all it could certainly go down like that. I doubt we get our a** beat like we did against cincy though. I think the cracks were a lot clearer late in the 2022 season though…even the offense was struggling against mediocre opponents. This year I can see a path to things going differently especially with us seemingly doing a bit of load management on the defensive side. Getting stuck with aj klein against kc seemed to be a big wake up call and it feels like we were really cautious with defensive injuries because of it. -
Some people have been saying this doesn’t matter much and even if you believe that (which I don’t) I think the ravens are one receiver getting banged up in game away from game over if flowers can’t play

A 3rd consecutive Divisional Round home loss? No chance

If you swapped the bills with the niners in their divisions/conferences the bills make at least 1 Super Bowl and niners would probably have 0 appearances imo -

Yea Shanahan coaching sure has an impeccable playoff record against the chiefs/in superbowls 🤣. Not to mention your scathing insult has mcd as nearly a top 10 coach in the league hahaha amazing -
lol that’s not what I was saying I just thought it would be a better way to phrase it…the bills do a lot of what the broncos did to us in the first half, force you into long drives that feel like pulling teeth at times where the odds of making a mistake like a fumble,INT,etc start to go up higher and higher especially with them disguising coverages pretty well. so by defensive/offensive philosophy it gets really difficult for us to lose the turnover battle. People criticize it when teams score but don’t really give it much credit when it does what it’s supposed to. Just always gives me a chuckle when every turnover is called luck 🤣

Idk beating both the 1 seeds is a pretty big deal. That 2022 team looked a little shaky against bad teams down the stretch too which was pointed out by many people as it was happening. that Detroit-Miami stretch leading up to the cincy regular season game didn’t feel super good to a lot of people here probably yourself included 🤣 -

This argument really means nothing when those two teams were the two 1 seeds 🤣 and on top of that, it was 3 and on top of THAT, the dolphins roster we beat twice probably wins 10-11 games lol -
This is honestly pretty crazy lol

NFL MVP & All Pro - it’s the Associated Press that Decide!?

Only gotta have a handful of Lamar voters think the mvp is more than stats. -
Teams literally give us the dink and dunk stuff in the flats because spying/containing josh and taking away the middle/deep middle of the field when he can roll left or right and throw rockets all over the field is really difficult. They gamble he’ll get impatient and he has very very rarely done so this season. it isn’t like we only like short passes/dumpoffs lol. I’d think it’s closer to the opposite Most times a fumble seems like a really nice punchout and people always call it luck for some reason lol. A fudged up snap or something like that I’d say can definitely be luck. The bills frequently force opposing offenses to go a lot of plays without a mistake so even the ‘lucky’ fumbles are somewhat schemed up in a way
-
Philosophically with how we’ve been scheming both sides of the ball it is very very difficult for us to lose the turnover battle. Not saying it’s you but people talk about it like it’s luck every week it’s pretty weird 🤣

This equivalence between top 15 pick and rebuild is completely false for a lot of the teams he listed. Sf was good every year except for 2020 where they got ravaged by injuries. Rams and Bucs were loaded which let them plug and play a good qb. If the rams make the nfc championship this year it might fit his point but that hasn’t happened yet. The one year the eagles were real bad was incredibly bizarre I don’t even think that was a full rebuild type situation. Seemed like drafting hurts just nuked wentz’s confidence Yea I think he was a bit hobbled for that game though and missed the Texans game due to the injury he played through in Balt. Went down with an ankle injury early, got taped up, missed Texans game the next week with an ankle. I doubt he was close to 100%

Chiefs have plenty of early round misses the last few years. Anudike-Uzomah looks pretty eh, their biggest need was OT and they’ve whiffed badly in back to back years early on wanya morris and suamata. The jawaan taylor FA acquisition was pretty meh also. They also pretty rarely hit late in the draft. The bills are getting as many big time contributors or more in every draft but everyone gets hung up on the round for some reason despite a very late first rounder being far from a sure thing historically. 2020 I’d say the chiefs were the best roster hands down and other teams bills included have closed the gap. A 2 game playoff sample size of impossibly close games is just way too small to conclude anything since then

Idk how this is flying so much under the radar but that browns team that the ravens played starting zappe at qb and Donta foreman at rb after trading Amari cooper weeks before with njoku out are probably the worst offense the league has seen in many many years they make the drew lock giants the ravens saw a few weeks prior look like the nfc all star team and they are dreadful 🤣 -
I think some people list them and if someone buys them great but if not they go themselves. That bills pats wildcard game felt like there was a ton of available tickets but looked packed at game time. I don’t remember seeing many pats fans at all. If a lot of locals don’t want to go out in super cold weather I doubt ravens fans would want to either lol
-
Can’t even point to the NFC lol those rams and Bucs teams were absolutely stacked and only missing a qb and both added a hof-er the year they won it.

I don’t even know if that regular season analysis is right…our oline straight up dominated the cincy dline the one offensive drive we had and we obviously would’ve gone for that 4th and short if we had to playoff game looked like we were on rollerskates in the trenches im still scratching my head a bit on that one. I want to believe we had some cleat issue in that light snow but that could definitely be cope lol. The niners bills game actually reminded me a lot of that bills bengals playoff game but that time the niners were on skates so if my cope is somehow true maybe we figured that issue out 🤣 -
These kind of posts always give me a chuckle, the best coach of all time needed a lucky break of an OT coin toss to get past the chiefs, that’s really no different than us the coin just fell the pats way that night. the only other AFC coach to get past them is Zac Taylor who is pretty dreadful imo. The dude just missed the playoffs with a stacked team because his team is just not ready to play for a huge chunk of the regular season the chiefs are in the position that they’re in largely because of regular season success I don’t get why people can’t see that. their path to the Super Bowl is often a bye, a joke, and one tough game that could go either way. Contrast that to the bills with the 2 seed this year, they have an extra 50/50 game against the ravens which HEAVILY cuts into their superbowl appearance odds.
-
I don’t think they break it down by name probably to protect people’s social medias getting flooded by crazies lol I’m actually more confident josh will win mvp after hearing that analysis…he really only needs a handful of Lamar all pro voters to flip for mvp. the vote totals were 109 points to 78 which seems like a big difference but each first place vote for all pro was worth 3 points so it’s not that big of a gap if some people flip. Clearly some voters think there’s a difference between all pro and mvp cuz burrow got a couple first place votes…doubt he’d get any for mvp
-
I hate that we/the ravens cheapened this argument a small amount last year cuz there’s a bunch of truth to it. Chiefs were just freakishly healthy last year or they wouldn’t have gone on that run imo and the bills got roughed up beating the Steelers and to cap it off they got absolutely stupid lucky in two games they absolutely should’ve lost to grab the 1 seed and a couple years ago we played 1 less game because a guy died on the field and they got the 1 seed by 1 game
-
Yea it is a bit odd for sure…the 10 degree avg temp drop in Buffalo compared to other places knocks you into the avg temp being freezing which factors in I’m sure but you’d think he’d get unlucky and get more real cold ones in places he plays from time to time I wouldn’t be surprised to hear he played like 4 or 5 games in freezing weather but 2 seems wild I ended up going to the pats Titans playoff game the week after bills jags….bought tickets in case the bills won and had some pats fan friends so figured I’d go and root against them rather than selling haha. I was like pssh it’s Boston how cold could it be and didn’t layer up at all. That was probably the coldest I’ve ever been haha
-
I thought you had me but allegedly Chicago is a degree or two warmer on average in January 😂. Totally forgot about them though lol I go to Chicago most summers and it’s hot as hell so they didn’t even cross my mind for cold
-
They’re probably gonna add yet another playoff team too 😂
-
I mean them rarely ever playing in games that cold is significant…their receivers don’t have the best hands in normal weather. The bills play in it a good amount and know what to expect. Might not be a big advantage for the home team but it is one
-
I think Buffalo is a good 9-10 degrees colder on average in January than anywhere else Lamar is likely to play so you never know. Crazy stat but there’s a chance it’s legit im gonna fact check myself on this but I think Buffalo is probably the second coldest city where people play outdoors with Green Bay being number 1
