  4. It woke me up this morning at my apartment (Cincinnati) at around 5:30am...bed was shaking and the dresser in my roommate's room next to mine was bumping into the wall. From the local news, we're ~180 miles from the epicenter, and it was still VERY noticeable. Can't imagine how those people in So-Cal deal with this sh-- on a regular basis. Really freaky...definitely never experienced anything like that before, especially waking up to it.
  5. The Cincinnati Redlegs are in town Friday, Saturday, & Sunday for a series vs. the Brewers. Much like the others though, Kings Island will be not open until next month. Plenty of other stuff to do in Cincy - ~400 miles from Orchard Park.
  6. I just had the transmission rebuilt in my '94 Plymouth Voyager (3 speed, no overdrive). Transmission + torque converter + labor = just over $1300 with tax at the local Aamco.
  7. Probably Olive Garden or something similar....sucks not having any family within 250 miles.

  10. Is that the same person as your avatar, without the wig?
  11. I should know more in a couple of days - I'll definitely hit you up if the interview goes well. Thanks!
  12. Thanks for your input. From my research, I'm really getting sold on moving. My only hesitation would be if they'd want me to start in like 2 weeks; I have to train a replacement at work, line up a new apartment, etc. etc. It'd have to be a month or more.
  13. Ordered mine on Friday, received it today... good quality and i think it'll be surprisingly warm...
  14. Thanks JIS...i'll consider that if/when I make my decision
  15. I've been with my current job for ~3.5 years, and the time is starting to come for a change of scenery. Several times in the past, my job has almost taken me elsewhere (including WNY), but I'm still in Cincinnati. Lately, I've been applying like crazy for jobs posted on the internal board, mostly located in Nashville, TN and HQ, Round Rock (Austin), TX. This Wednesday, I have an interview for a position located in Nashville. While I'm not going to get my hopes up, as this is interview #1, the more that I read about Nashville, the more that I think that it would be a great fit for me. Its got the Titans (I'll never change teams, but it'll be cool to stay in an NFL town), Predators, a Nascar track, Vanderbilt (to finish my degree and for college sports) great music, and most importantly, girls with that incredible southern accent. I've already taken into account that if I move, I'm not going to be driving to Bills home games - found it pretty nice that there are a couple of airlines that fly Nashville-Buffalo (by way of another city) for ~$150-200, round trip, consistently. The only negative that I can find, so far, is that the move would put me an extra ~250 miles (total ~480) away from home and my family and that I'd be starting over on the social scene (could be a good thing, I've burned a few bridges with the ladies here in Cincy ). Anyways, if you've been there, let me know what you think.
  16. thanks for your input, insightful as always
  17. Too early for this...not going to argue with a DOLPHINS fan about this season, especially since we've beat you the last 5/6 times we've played. Shouldn't you be looking for a QB?
  18. If you're financing, you'll clearly have to carry more coverage on the vehicle than you would if you buy it outright. Then again, if its a late model car, you're probably going to want better coverage anyways, as the cost of repairs (let alone injuries, etc.) will be more expensive. The whole turning 25 situation will definitely help out when the time comes - as a 25 year old, I pay ~$75/mo to insure 2 vehicles...much better than the ~$130-150/mo that I paid a couple of years ago on my primary vehicle (then financed) with full coverage By the way, credit history will definitely help/hurt you as well
  19. just sent $ for 4 tailgate tickets...we're going to sit in our seats this time around
  20. Pretty sweet Goo Good Dolls video on the intro...makes me want to look for a job in WNY
