  1. Really different levels of expectation in patriot land. 11-5 season, playoff loss and the season is viewed as a dismal failure to move on from. Amazing.
  2. If you can point out one another example in NFL history were "receivers intent" was part of the a rules interpretation than you have a point. If you cannot do that, than just admit you are flat out 100% wrong.
  3. If "receivers intent" was part of the rule, you would have a point. but its not, so your point is irrelevant to whether the call was correct or not.
  4. If the runner had changed his mind and decided to run it out, and had returned it for a TD, does anyone think the TD would have been called back?
  5. Fumbles lost Call NFL.com with your corrections http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=null&statisticCategory=RUSHING&season=2019&seasonType=REG&experience=2&tabSeq=0&qualified=false&Submit=Go
  6. McDermott could have done better. However, this game was stolen. There were three separate calls by the refs, any one of which likely results in a Bills win 1. The stolen "common sense" td 2. phantom blindside block 3. missed delay of game on 3 and 18. These are not the normal "refs make mistakes". Each of these were horrible outcome alternating calls. No similar calls went the other way.
  7. Just because you imagine they are on the move, does not make it so either. The Bills had very average results this year. Their performance against thier particular opponents was just about league average against those opponents. Next years schedule shifts from the horrible NFC east to the pretty good NFC west. Very good chance the team wins fewer games next year, based on this years results.
  8. Who fumbled more this year Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen ? Jackson Who took more sacks this year D. Watson or Josh Allen? Watson Who had more turnovers this year Watson or Allen? Watson Who has more playmakers on his team, Watson or Allen? Watson Who has a better oline Jackson or Allen? Jackson These three QBs are not asked to play like brees or brady. Allens perceived issues are because people don't understand what he is being asked to do. And how little help he has compared to other QBs asked to do the similar things.
  9. common sense should have prevailed.
  10. Watson had a passer rating of 121. Allen 69.5. Allen did have 46 attempts and Watson only 25. Combined with rushing, the entire offense was far more on Allen, than Houston's was on Watson. Terrible terrible terrible playing calling in the OT was the frosting on the cake.
  11. Does "The Process" have milestones? Is one and done in the playoffs, considered success by most teams after three years of rebuilding in the modern NFL (and facing a historical easy schedule) ? Is the year 4 milestone, win a wild card game? then lose in divisional round? Then in year 5 win a divisional game and lose the champhionship game? then in year 6 win the conference and lose the super bowl? and finally in year 7 win the super bowl? Because its seems like the process is more about bouncing around from 6-10 to 10-6 by beating bad teams and losing to good ones.
  12. the defense was not only not elite against winning teams this year, it was only about average. Considering the amount of draft capital invested on the defense, average results vs good teams is not that spectacular.
  13. My rage over that play has only grown since yesterday. I feel your pain.
  14. the effort in the second half was a 38 point pace. the op was quite clear on distinguishing between the good half, and the complete debacle second half.
  15. Passer Rating is largely regarded as a flawed stat (however it does correlate pretty well with winning) . Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen make such significant contributions as rushers, that there is a lot of discussion on how to evaluate the combined efforts for the QBs. One of the flaws in passer rating that I dislike, is that the wise decision to throw the ball away rather than take a sack, negatively impacts passer rating, while taking the sack has no impact. For the second and third year QBs, I took the stats that go into passer rating, Attempts, completions, Yards, INTs and TDs and combined them with each QBs rushing stats and sacks. Each rush and sack is added to attempts and completions both. The estimated negative sack yardage and positive rushing yardage are added. rushing TDs are add, and fumbles are added to INTs. It is interesting to note that L. Alexander and D.Watson are also fumbling machines, like Josh Allen. Might just because they run far more than anyone else. Anyway on the combined basis , Lamar edges out Mahomes among the young guns:
  16. so no public accountability. does blame others in public though. can we agree on that?
  17. The LAMP posting is strong with this one.
  18. If only someone would think "play fearlessly"
  19. Many of the fans on this board think of the Bills as akin to a mid-major college basketball team. They think the Bills can win on any given Sunday, but don't really think of the Bills as serious contenders to ever be champs. As a consequence these fans set low expectations, and are happy enough when the low expectations are exceeded. Their main measure of comparison is comparing the 2019 Bills to the 2016 Bills or some other bad version of the Bills. That is certainly their prerogative. Some fans believe the Bills are on equal footing with the Salary Cap, drafting rules and equal share of TV money, and should be held to the same standard of success as the teams competing for the championship each year. These two views are in pretty strong conflict to each other.
  20. This team is all about the continuity train. You won't see an OC change, unless someone hires Daboll as HC.
  21. What I saw was a head coach he told his team to play fearlessly, then blamed the playoff loss on the qb "trying to do to much". Do you have a links to examples of where e publically held himself accountable?
  22. Do you understand the actual rule? By the letter of the rule, the call was correct. Ford was blocking towards his own goal line. A "common sense" interpretation of the play would make it clear it was not a blindside block. But the refs already used up their one "common sense" over ride of the actual rules, when they stole the TD from the Bills in the first half.
