What they didn’t know is if Pat was going to demand a short term contract that would be a bigger hit immediately after that or if he was going to sign a ten year deal that would give them room for Jones long term. The contract allows them to make a competitive offer to Jones. If he really wants top of the market, KC probably can’t afford it. As a Chiefs fan, I hope they make it work.
