  1. Right so: Dane - ??? - ??? TJ - Neal - ??? Elam/Benford - ??? - ??? one of Elam or Benford will be starting week 1.
  2. Well that's an easy argument to make when we traded Wyatt Teller and kept some ST bums instead. Because you just argue that's not what we did.
  3. RIP to the right's version of the Hilldog. This is my fight song etc. etc.
  4. Teams don't cut late round guys in favor of STers? You sure about that?
  5. FA is pronounced eff-a. It has to do with vowel sounds, not vowels themselves. Vowels obviously cause vowel sounds. "An observation" is proper because it's a vowel sound.
  6. F is pronounced ef and thus “an” is correct vernacular. It’s a vowel sound. I took English in tenth grade.
  7. I figured that’s where we needed to start to help you understand lmao. in reality, 1 single roster spot would be some bum STer or a 6th WR vs OBJ and wouldn’t constituting “blowing” anything up. We aren’t gonna cut Josh or Tre to make room for OBJ. Second, OBJ is injured and you could IR him and not even need a roster spot until he returns. At which point someone may be hurt already.
  8. We would have to trade some money for his services…… because he’s an FA.
  9. My friend, overemphasizing 3 plays over 32 years ain’t the way. But point taken lol. IMO, 13 seconds was a failure of defense INFINITELY more than ST. I really don’t think elite gunners matter. This emphasis on special teams will disappear as football is dragged kicking and screaming into the analytic age. I just truly don’t believe the value is there IRT roster building. It will suck for guys like Taiwan Jones and Jake Kumerow across the league, but IMO your special teams coach is supposed to get your end of the roster people coached up on ST, not need “elite” bums. Guys like Stefon Diggs and AB were STers early in their careers. I would hate to be the team that gets rid of them too early in favor of 32 year old gunners.
  10. I reject the assertion that it’s IMPORTANT. 2020 Bucs had 29th ST unit in the NFL per DVOA. 2019 KC was 2. 2018 NE was 16. 2017 PHI was 16. 2016 NE was 8. It doesn’t matter. The history of the NFL tells us it’s much more important to be elite offensively or defensively than have anything better than average STers. If you have two young guys who are both gonna be at the end of the roster, and one is a better STer, by all means keep that one. But this fixation with maximizing the ST unit with players who will NEVER EVER be contributors on the offensive or defensive side of the ball is just poor strategy. Siran Neal is a good example. Great youngish (well not anymore) STer who can play some defense. Taiwan Jones and Jake Kumerow is puke.
  11. As we have seen, they have kept their elite gunner but the Super Bowls have dried up over the last couple seasons.
  12. Who is the Buccaneers Taiwan Jones?
  13. You can't make these decisions in a vacuum. It's zero sum. The bottom 7 or 8 roster spots are for developing players and STers. More STers is less developing players. They traded him because otherwise they would have cut him.
  14. Wait, you don't think the OG who showed up to Cleveland for peanuts and made an All-Pro team after not starting until Week 9 would have NEVER EVER seen the field in Buffalo?
  15. They could have kept 10......... except for the ST players.
  16. They traded him because he didn't have a roster spot..... because of special teams players.
  17. Well it may be different if you are making $200M. If you are, please help.
  18. Yeah, there is no reason to not let Elam take his lumps now. He needs to be rounding into form by December
  19. We may have won a few more games with Wyatt Teller on the team.
  20. Yeah, I can't believe that 7 time Super Bowl winning QB gets a pass on things that Mitch Trubisky wouldn't.
  21. @mrags should go
  22. I also like to compare them with my eyes. To my eyes, both LJ and TT struggle with getting the ball to outside WR’s. Now Lamar is very good at reading soft zones and getting the ball to his TE’s. TT well, wasn’t great at that either lol. And you are right, Lamar plays much more aggressive and is a much bigger weapon than TT and frankly other than any mobile QB we have ever seen. He is a unique specimen, not unsimilar to Josh (in uniqueness, not play style). TT and Lamar both have one thing demonstrably in common. They are flawed passers. They cannot (or in TT’s case will not) make every throw consistently enough. And Lamar is good enough that it doesn’t matter most of the time. Except when the playoffs start and the teams become tougher. When LJ enters the postseason, he plays well, bad. And IMO, it’s because the flaws in his game are magnified by other teams. That doesn’t make him a bad QB. In fact, I think LJ is talented ENOUGH, that if he didn’t get any better from today on, I still think he’s good enough to win a SuperBowl. All that being said, I can see the comparisons between TT and LJ. Mobile QB’s whose athleticism compensates for flaws in their passing. If TT couldn’t run, im not sure he would have ever started in the NFL. Now Lamar is very clearly both the superior athlete and the superior passer. If Lamar couldn’t run, he’d still be better than TT. does this mean you know who is who? You may want to check your math on the bolded lmao
