  4. "It's important to note that NFL club officials in this case are only referencing failed drug tests administered by the prospect's college that wind up on his background report, not the drug tests the league conducts as part of the scouting process at last month's NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis."
  5. Even fairly assuming that George Edwards is only pedestrian, consider the personnel upgrades the Bills have already made in their starting 12. Enter: Andra Davis Leodis McKelvin A Day 1 D-Lineman Exit: Keith Ellison Chris Kelsay Reggie Corner That is significant improvement already. This is not the first time Edwards will have called an NFL Defense. He's been both a D-coordinator and an AsstD-coordinator in this league so that rookie transition is out of the way for us. He was also the first choice for D-coordinator by the best college coach on the planet. None of that is a guarantor of his success but I'd wager it's unlikely he'll be bad; mediocre at worst.
  6. But what happens when he starts getting banged up? And at his size he definitely will. Then he starts bulking up to protect himself? That'll slow him down too. Then he'll just be another "good" running back. And imo, there's too many "good" running backs available to spend a blue chip pick on yet another one.
  7. Cadillac came onto the season in the middle of his freshman year and was a real eye opener. Great burst and explosiveness, ridiculous lateral quicks, superior acceleration; the kids was lightning quick for 3 1/2 years. Then he came into the league; started getting banged up, starting bulking up in an effort to stay healthy, etc. After 1 really good year, that burst was gone and he was just a good grinder with a low center of gravity. We've seen exactly that happen to so many skill players for so long (Chris Johnson may be next) that I just have no interest in seeing the Bills spend another premier pick on a guy who is likely to be a dime/dozen running back within a year or two. That would be the 4th high pick we've wasted on an average RB in the last decade and imo that's been a bigger problem than the over-drafting of secondary players. I do not want to see it happen again. There's just too many other ways to find quality backs than to keep pissing away top picks on them. Sorry man, but those exercise numbers don't mean a thing to me.
  8. I think another thing you can take into account is the addition of George Edwards. He's highly respected in the football world by coaches and players alike and has a reputation for being able to tailor his defenses to the talent available. I didn't mind Fewell, but his biggest weakness was that he was very predictable; that is not likely to be an issue with Coach Edwards. I'm not going to get too excited yet, but we definitely look a lot better on paper. And if Nix can find a way to get a legitimate NFL Nose onto the roster, this squad will have the potential to create a lot of problems for opponents regularly looking at 2nd/9 or 3rd/7.
  9. Cadillac had outstanding burst as a collegian. He was every bit as explosive as Spiller ever since he was a freshman.
  10. From what I've been told he's pretty much an !@#$ who's hated by most of his teammates. So I'd agree that his leadership qualities are pretty non-existent.
  11. Would you draft Cadillac Williams at #9 overall? Cuz I think that's who he is.
  12. There's about 8 QB threads on the front page and you've got to bring your QB stuff into this thread? You're rapidly approaching crusading status. Again.
  13. Actually Charles Davis is one of the most knowledgeable talking heads you'll find on any channel. I don't agree with him in this case but he certainly knows his business.
  14. I can't wait to see how they're going to build a mile of runway.....
  15. There isn't a LB in Buffalo that this guy stands behind on the depth chart. Either Kawika gets kicked outside into the Schobel/Maybin mix, or he backs up Davis. Great pick-up for Buddy and Doug. Andra is a player's player.

  17. Slow is not an adjective I'd use to describe him. On a track maybe. But in pads on gameday, that boy is quick.
  18. That cat had a bag of tricks that Santa couldn't have carried. Unbelievable player and I'd probably start him at C cuz I'm not old enough to have watched Bill Russell. David Robinson: MVP? You're relieved Admiral.
  19. Williams has earned the right to start in the base defense. No questions asked.
  20. Yeah, that pretty much decided it. Many MANY thanks. Wtf is playboy radio? Is that media for ugly gals? And I'd rather go to teh dentist than listen to talk radio. Yep, those two have both made the cut so far.
  21. I used to think I liked Dark Side. Now I'm considering Atom Heart Mother.
  22. Oh, that's a winner, dev. Thank you for all the fun I'm going to have at work tomorrow.
  23. I wonder how the brothers and the sisters in the union like the idea of holding the line for them? I wish the NEA would eat its own sometimes.
  24. I like that ramshackle Exile on Main Street sound. I'll be giving the Garage a shot. I saw one on there called Outlaw Country. If I was going with only 1 country station and I like Horton Heat, Robert Earl Keen, JerryJeff, DAllanCoe and that Luckenbach, Texas sound, would you suggest Willie's Place or the Outlaw station?
