  1. I wonder how many of those things are still hiding out in WNY closets and shoeboxes 40 years later. My guess is that both of our estimates would be low.👍
  2. The part I quoted. Nobody thinks getting knocked out of the playoffs in the second round is a "huge accomplishment" and nobody wants more of it. It's just some bull#### strawman you create to try to make yourself feel superior to others.
  3. Yeah, the starters on both sides of the ball are going to mostly remain intact. I'll miss Hyde and Gabe Davis' blocking, but neither are irreplaceable at this point in their careers. The tough part will be replacing the high volume of depth they're likely going to lose and we saw how important that depth can be this year. It will be tricky but at least it's manageable. I don't see this team taking any significant steps backwards next season. Heck, it's even reasonable to suggest that we might already be adding a blue chip veteran DE with the hopeful return of the real Von Miller next year.
  4. I think they should bring back Talkin' Proud and show the video that has the lady with the crazy chicken walk.
  5. Did you also adjust for the pressure of making a 45-48 yrd FG in the pressure of the NFC Championship game? Outdoors? On bad grass? Or are you just selecting your data so that it will reach the conclusion of the narrative you've already decided on?
  6. So you did a deep dive with a bunch of mathematics to make a declared conclusion that it was not worth it. Yet your entire mathematical argument hinges on "probably". Perhaps a game like football doesn't readily lend itself to rigid mathematical analysis.
  7. This is patently absurd and bears no relation to reality Detroit's success rate this season on 4th/3 or less is over 77% The first one was 45; I think the second one was around 48. In both instances, both kicking and going were acceptable options; neither call was "wrong" in either instance. Unless of course Badgley was struggling in pregame to make 45yrd kicks on that ***** grass; if that was the case, then going for it was absolutely correct. From my perspective, I would have gone for the first one to keep pressure on SF, maintain possession to burn clock and hunt for a TD that might finish the game. The second one I would probably have kicked to tie the game (again, dependent on how much Badgley was struggling pregame).
  8. Daquan Jones Dane Jackson Would like to see return: Ty Dodson Ty Johnson Tim Settle at a reasonable salary
  9. [This is an automated response] As a courtesy to the other board members, please use more descriptive topic titles. A better title will help the community find information faster and make your topic more likely to be read. The topic starter can edit the topic title line to make it more appropriate. Thank you.
  10. Are you guys getting the sense over there that he has essentially run himself out of KC over the last month or so?
  11. I don't know how many times I shook my head at the TV today trying to figure out exactly what the hell they were thinking on offense.
  12. Definitely close, but I probably have some recency bias. I might be tempted to drop Hurts before Prescott.
  13. Somebody is getting shivved for sure.
  14. I like this one, but I think I'd try to find a way to squeeze Goff in there somehow. He's been really, really good
  15. I would categorize that as a very diplomatic, possibly even very generous description of Lamar Jackson.
  16. I lived in the sticks between Waterville and Belfast for a little over a year. I absolutely loved the people up there.
  17. I never assumed they did, and said half to make that clear.
  18. Did you see those two blocks he threw to spring McCaffrey on that huge play late that put them in scoring position? He may be a different kind of dude, but damn he can play ball.
  19. That's right about the age when those legs start losing that otherworldly jump. If he can't learn to win from the pocket real soon, he's going to be an afterthought in the great NFL QB conversations.
  20. I never claimed to know. That's why I'm not running around calling people stupid morons for in-game decisions they made. Half those same people would be calling Campbell a moron if he put the FG team out there on 4th/2 and his kicker missed.
  21. I honestly don't care enough about them to feel good or bad for them. Just think it's kind of weird when somebody wants others to suffer.
  22. 45+yrds FG on bad grass can be dicey propositions and we didn't see what the Lions crappy K was doing pregame, so I don't think either of those calls was necessarily "wrong"
