  1. Because teams know the league and its rules favor the passing game, and the fact that passing is simply more efficient than running.
  2. I agree - I suggested it even though it’s a longshot. But it’s something of a solution for these handful of elite backs to consider advocating for instead of just whining and getting into twitter scraps.
  3. The star RBs are never going to get teams to budge on handing out bigger money to veteran backs who are 26-27 years old. The positional value and average career length just isn’t there What would be feasible and fairer to these guys is altering the rookie contract structure for RBs and set their max term lower than other positions. 2 or 3 year rookie terms would allow RBs to get to FA sooner with more of their future value intact. The truly great ones would get more and better offers. All the rest would get what they get or fall by the wayside.
  4. stick em on any TV showing Jets’ games
  5. I wouldn’t put anything past Snyder but I do tend to agree with the ESPN article that he’s primarily looking for indemnification from the league for any further liabilities he many face for his many, many infractions during his time as an owner. The 2nd “independent” investigation into Snyder by Mary Jo White is still looming remember. Goodell is not going to be able to bury its findings like he did with Wilkinsons’. Whatever that report says, and I’m guessing nothing good, Snyder could face a new host of lawsuits and penalties. I think he wants the league to assume those since he’s being such a nice guy and finally agreeing to sell (nevermind the fact that he really did not have a choice at this point.)
  6. are you quoting from msn or is this you? And who exactly is saying Cupp is potentially available at msn?
  7. i doubt OJ is that rich anymore.
  8. i think this, along with straight up spite, is why Gruden was quoted as saying he isn’t settling for any amount. He’s got more than enough money already and he gives zero f**** at this point. He has that grudge in him. He wanted to be commissioner one day 😂. The fallout will be fantastic. It will be glorious.
  9. Appreciate this and reminds me to hate Skip Bayless even more.
  10. Fantastic reporting. I especially love the part about Snyder and his people leaking the Gruden stuff thinking it would create a distraction and save his hind. Instead, well, ol’ Rog actually grew a spine for once (in the face of Congressional investigation.) Danny Snyder, a true “Einstein” type businessman 😉
  11. I agree with you but I think they are taking a shot at him, as you say. It seems like they’ve been interested all along. I think Beane is willing to give Hopkins a competitive offer. I just don’t think Beane is going to be fazed by spectres of big money competitor offers from dog**** teams like the Pats or the Titans.
  12. I am totally okay with Beane not bending over and handing Hopkins his asking price just because he’s “the missing piece” and Baltimore did it for Odell.
  13. Woof. What did I just read…
  14. Yep - pay attention to the source. For example the author of this story is one “Enzo Flojo.” Enzo here is based in the Philippines and appears to be mostly concerned with FIBA basketball, according to his twitter account. He’s probably some kid in a blog farm in Manila cranking these things out for MSN at $0.25 a pop. I wish people would do a little bit of research on the author before posting these things here, but I know that’s too much to ask.
  15. think it’s just random to mix it up and make it easier to read than just using one color.
  16. Pretty much OT but I just read a couple things about this crazy thing in Vegas that Populous also built: https://www.axios.com/2023/07/08/sphere-las-vegas-venue-shows apparently opening in September with U2. (Cost: $2.3B for those curious.)
  17. these are real cool - I’ve seen others recently too there’s more out there.
  18. drives me crazy too. These guys can’t get basic facts right.
  19. it’s been brought up to T before here. Just how they are.
  20. good post T and I think Rapp will be a solid contributor to the defense. But he’s not a complete safety, as you said. He wouldn’t have been available at his price if he were.
  21. first off, good on you for donating to this family who definitely needs it. Second off, and I hate to deflect from the real story of this little guy losing his life way too early, but some of that stuff you’re experiencing is by design, not accident. And while many of those who helped raise money for this family deserve credit, keep your collective eyes out for the ones doing it to improve their profile/visibility. I have an example, an easy one since the OP linked it as well (from one of the usual sources): Count how many times this person uses the word “I” in her statement about this unfortunate boy who lost his life to illness. Go ahead. It’s a lot. Don’t support these pseudoinfluencers. Don’t support “Bills Mafia” as a brand (not a fanbase) at all if you can.
  22. You can also follow Thad on Threads if you want to!
  23. Detroit wins at least 14
