Per Sean McDermott on WGR just now. Edmunds a bit of a surprise to be scratched before gametime after practicing on a limited basis this week.

His last name is Mayfield. People generally refer to football players with their last name. You'll see people make whole lists of quarterbacks, or they'll mention 10 quarterbacks in a paragraph and Mayfield will be the only one whose last name is replaced by his first name. It's just a strange phenomenon to me. It's not like his last name is something hard to spell or pronounce, like Lotulelei.

I am flabbergasted by the fact that the NFL will play, and apparently broadcast, the *same* Lift Every Voice narrative/performance video before EACH GAME, ALL SEASON. Can you imagine how stale and meaningless this is going to be after 5, 10, 15, 20 weeks? This is truly unbelievable. And the players are going to be videoed each week as they feel the pressure to watch and react to the video as it's played in stadium. It's going to become a joke, especially as it is followed by a new, original national anthem rendition every single time. They couldn't do an original Lift Every Voice every week also because why? I saw you laughing at everyone's posts about it being a tough game. You're mistaken if you think it will be easy. The Dolphins have a lot of talent and very good coaching. In what world was that game a shellacking?

I watched a lot of football yesterday. I didn't see the Ravens, but ours was the best offense I saw. To my point earlier in the week, we looked a lot like Kansas City with just an unlimited supply of weapons going in and out, and it felt like we were unstoppable moving the ball down the field because of so many options, so much movement, and a playmaking quarterback. We looked great.

I suspect a bridge may be burned with Thompson. Very strange he was not put on the practice squad.
