I expect Baker to play pretty well. He was hurt last year. Prior, he displayed some positive signs for a young QB and led them to the playoffs. He has a massive chip on his shoulder. Cleveland did not want to find themselves at the end of a contract while not knowing how long or even if they wanted to extend. What if he played decent and takes you to the playoffs again? Do you hitch your wagon even if you aren't 110% sure? You know on Bakers side he would be asking for a mint. Cleveland opted to spend excessive money for a player with the skills they 110% felt were high enough despite the baggage. That's what this was all about. In the end, as much as people hate all that has happened with Watson if he takes Cleveland to a Super Bowl the events over the last year become a footnote. Sad, but that is the state of sports worship. Personally, I think both teams will likely come away fairly happy. That is also a possible outcome in this.

What are we even talking about? This is like the debates I had with my X. It's no reflection on Elam, minimal on anyone really, as that spot really doesn't hit very often. If he ends up being good Beane and scouting department should get some credit, no? I mean he's from Villanova. It's not like this is the first or even second or even third time we have found a very good player late. In any event, I could care less who becomes "the man". I just want one of them to be good, preferably both.

Only a few backs in the history of this game from the pre 1970's could play in this era. Gale Sayers was likely one of them. Nobody really ran with his acceleration or burst at the time. Next closest I can recall is Lenny Moore, but Sayers was just flat out better. If injuries didn't crush his career he would be considered one of the greatest RB's of all time (if you want to make an argument on this point, understood, plenty of stars had a career end early and did not get the benefit Sayers did).

Let me simplify my anger towards it. Kyle Pitts is a generational talent. Mike Ditka is the only TE in NFL history to have more yards receiving than Pitts in his rookie year. Real quick, because like all here, I loved the pick and this punt was something. When the pick was made some people said on the board that the gurus dropped him in the draft rankings because he didn't get punts off very quickly. I guess he uses an additional step some don't? I have no idea if this is true or not. I just know he looked to take awhile before unleashing that rocket. Buffalo's offense has been completely derailed for long stretches in games at times. Allen and his legs generally being the only savior when this occurs. Our defense has been prone to a bend but don't break style which breaks more as the competition increases and we struggled against power run teams. Our division is unquestionably better and the AFC is insanely deep. I do think we are one of the best teams, if not the best as you forecast out this season. That said, we are everybody's favorite and the reaction in this thread to what Sharp said shows the value from a sports betting perspective. Win or lose, it's unlikely that value exists on this over as everybody is on Buffalo. To take that side, you have to say Vegas just missed on this. Which I don't like to say. The reality is they need to get to 13 wins to cover this bet, that is very difficult. A lot of things need to go correctly for that to happen. I sure as hell hope it does. I can't wager on this, but if this wasn't my team I would fade the public and take the under. I would only play over at 11.5 which I think is the fair total on this. Some wild responses, but the one that I feel is most accurate is Troy Aikman. Incredible ground game, line, WR's. Very pedestrian stats, even for that era. The SB's are what gave him the perception of a HF QB.

That was arguably the best moment of the draught era (my opinion). To beat New England the way we did. It felt like it was going to turn around that year. TD wasn't awful, it just never came together. He never found his QB and he never combined all the right parts. He could land some talent and pull off some trades though. We have had worse.

I think the way Kyle see's it is he's now got a mobile QB in what is probably the most QB friendly system in the NFL. That said, I think this is a difficult spot. While I agree Jimmy G didn't win many games for the 49ers, he wasn't a guy that was losing many games for them either. Lance could certainly cost them games. We will see how it plays out.

So you aren't exactly sure how white people talk to other white people when surrounded by all white people about everybody else but white people, specifically black people? In plenty of circles it isn't overly flattering. Some aren't like this. It's pocketed to just some homes. I'm sure other races do this as well. No. After that experience I'm 100% convinced white people treat a white male dating a black female worse than a gay man, which I suppose is progress of some kind.

So before you try and take this down a not good place. A couple factoids for you. My brother is a federal police office and I'm very close with him. I have also dated a black woman before in a predominantly white area. I guess you're a white male? Have you ever held hands with a black female in a predominately white area? You stop feeling like you're among the people. You feel the looks as thick as the humidity on a hot Florida night. Yes, I hate to say this Doc, but people, all people, including people like my brother are product of the environment they're raised in. All people have different levels of bias that are inherent to that environment and how they were raised, and some of those people happen to be police officers. Then sometimes those police officers happened to be raised in a bad environment for the jobs they have. Again, doesn't make police officers bad, it's just the psychology of the human mind. So some people do have to worry about unequal law enforcement depending on who they encounter. Perhaps I meet somebody who doesn't like bald white guys one day and I have to worry about the same, but if I'm a betting man I would wager this works against black people at a much higher clip than say bald white men like myself. I got taken home when I blew a 1.8 on a breathalyzer when I was 18 years old. He just took me home. Is that what he does for everybody? Maybe, but I doubt out.
