  1. I'm not hear to discuss individual success or failure. I love Josh. We are obsessed with KC, it's time we wake up. Dude, I really don't care to measure Josh like an MLB pitcher, I understand his xFIP is exceptional, but in the NFL ERA matters more.
  2. So I made this a Allen / Burrow thread, but it might as well be a Bills / Bengals thread. At the end of the day you figure it will be decided by them. With the weapons they both have, is KC the only team you're worried about? Did Burrow just crap his pants into being one defensive holding call away from have his first SB off a severe injury in his second season?
  3. As I said, puppies get excited and do really well sometimes. All of us know how those stats were generated. Josh will remain my guy. Always. The people in this thread are delusional if they think Mahomes is our only threat or even that he's the main threat. Just as much if you think this is an anti Allen thread. None of you watched any of the videos. I didn't feel like I do now until I did. It's not an act, he doesn't give a F and it matters. That doesn't mean I want him to be our QB. This is a more of a FML the Bengals are possibly as a big or worse a threat as KC and nobody here respects that at all. Which makes it even worse.
  4. He does it to himself, yes
  5. Dude, if SDS could tell us how many times Mahomes has been mentioned vs Burrow it would be 10 to 1
  6. The puppy thing is getting misunderstood. Puppies are amazing, incredible, aggressive, reckless, overexcited. Josh always seems to arrive back at this place at some point. He is 100x better than he was two years ago. 50x better than last year. Is he ever going to be like a Joe Burrow? No. If you actually watch that entire video, Joe B just doesn't care about football enough to piss on the carpet. It matters, the dude is just cold blooded as a result of indifference and he gets the ball out as fast as anybody not named Brady. All we do is talk about Mahomes, once in awhile I hear about Herbert. I think the real threat is in southern Ohio. That is what this thread is about. I'm also sure as hell not saying I don't want Josh as my guy. He's our damn guy. Nobody on this forum even brings the Bengals up.
  7. The cliff notes, Joe B is very underrated, he's in Allen's class. We never talk about him. I see an overexcited kid slamming into a big pile. Joe B would slide. It's logical. I'm not slamming Josh at all. I didn't think of Joe B as even being in this convo, but he is and we should respect that he is. Again, he's as big a threat as Mahomes and the Chiefs.
  8. The narrative is Mahomes and Allen, but only Burrow and Mahomes have reached a Super Bowl. Burrow has never lost to Mahomes. I stumbled across this video on Burrow and it really made me think. One, I have eaten at the restaurant this is being filmed in. More importantly. Joe "Kool", he's not really Joe ____ . He just doesn't give that many F's. Which made me think of this video on you tube It's not that he's an elite leader, he's just indifferent to the noise because he knows its all just WWE and holy hell that has to matter in clutch moments. Josh on the other hand is a puppy and that is not an insult. Outside of two-three countries we all love puppies. They're pure energy and enthusiasm but puppies will get too excited and piss on the carpet. Puppies have higher swings. They burn brighter and fade quicker. The video is intimidating, this guy actually makes me more nervous than Mahomes and the start of that game we didn't finish didn't ease my concerns.
  9. He seems like a very bright X's and O's guy, but do I think he's capable of rallying a team that is tanking? Do I think he has the demeanor to consistently keep players motivated? I don't think our McD is a bad X's and O's guy, but I think his exact strength as far as raw leadership is the exact weakness of Miami's McD.
  10. To the chagrin of a few others I brought it up yesterday. If KC wins Saturday, why is it in our best interest to play this game? I don't feel bad for the other teams. Just like on field, if you leave things close enough that refs decide the game its your fault. If giving us what amounts to a bye week to get right by forfeiting the game and taking the loss, why wouldn't we do that? Also, why does this seem so far fetched? To me, it's almost the logical outcome.
  11. We will forfeit Sunday most likely prior to the Chiefs game, certainly 100% if they win. The likelihood we play Sunday is very low IMO.
  12. If we forfeit the outcome is a loss which decides the fate of these teams in a consistent way
  13. I think it's possible this decision comes before Saturday as to not inconvenience fans or travel, but to me it becomes almost probable once we get to the end of Saturday that a decision could be made. Saturday we will most likely know how the NFL is handling the situation (I think). Perhaps the NFL is planning to wait for the Chiefs game to finish before they announce what the strategy is (Chiefs win could trigger a lot of other things). If the Chiefs win, I see little anybody could say about giving them homefield. Which then makes our game meaningless and a forfeit of the game logical for all involved. I don't think the Bills play in this scenario and question if they would even play if the Chiefs lost. We just need the rest physically and emotionally.
  14. I think the best parents arm children with facts and treat them as smaller adults. If they require some additional guidance so be it. I do not think the negatives of high school football outweigh the positives to the extent parents should treat football like going to Cancun. An overwhelming % of high school players learn invaluable lessons from football. We do not have the ability to quantify the positives and then compare it to CTE risks or something along the lines of plane crash odds. These risks also shift based on socio economic factors (I would think). If we are being logical a kid in the inner city benefits even more than kids in the suburbs (structure/stay out of trouble). Still, for some parents, any increased risk is enough to say no and that's ok as well. This is an emotional question. What is the balancing act of the reward for the addition of X (whatever the benefits are) vs the increased rate of risk of playing a collision based sport .
  15. He still has a shot in this league, but no way is that happening in NY. He would benefit a great deal from being forgotten for awhile, out of the spotlight, as he learns from a veteran presence.
  16. Meh, even if true, debatable.
  17. I just can't get over the connections on this one. The guy who led the biggest comeback in college and pro football history is let go, only for his team to relinquish the greatest comeback in NFL history with a QB who had previously lost the greatest lead in Super Bowl history.
  18. I'm not sure if many of you recall, but what we did a lot with him last year which we have not seen at all this year is quick slants for about 8-10 yards. Allen would almost throw this weird side arm each time, but he connected on it, each time. It was a valuable play for us that didn't require YAC or any route depth but provided value. The other route he ran all the time was a stick/out route on 3rd and less than 5. Again, very rarely had any YAC, any major athleticism, anything overly special, but it was a completion nearly every time. If he gives us those routes back he's worth his weight in gold. Dirty just can't run them, Gabe doesn't have the quicks, I think we all would prefer Diggs getting more depth. He can win on these, just like Josh can win on some deep balls. These guys don't have to be the former version of themselves to be good lands. Not to mention, my god is Buffalo looking good to future players.
  19. You need lubrication
  20. Not nitpicking him, just word choice, flow, cadence, and substance. It's not what it used to be. Very gee golly gosh. At times I have asked if he was intoxicated as so many lines just tapper off or connect together forming a sort of gibberish. It's lazy to me. He's clearly got the ability to be really insightful, I just don't think he puts in the time anymore. I have no other way to describe it. Really, I barely notice these guys and really only noticed heavily based on this thread. Nance is an elite play by play guy. It's enough to plow through, but i wonder if he isn't noticing it as well.
  21. Ya, but don't you think when they invested in a different guy than the one we are seeing right now?
  22. Espenesa is certainly improved. Flashing, no question it's his best year. Also no question even with Von gone, pass rush is better. I would even say significantly better. Von was the icing and damn, having that closer element was awesome but we have been trying to build that unit up for awhile now. I think we are seeing a combination of maturity along with Von's influence. Groot is legit and Epenesa is flashing more. Then Oliver has been borderline dominant at times. This is just three guys in a pretty big rotation.
  23. I didn't unearth the thread to pile on the guy. I remembered seeing this thread and was like ok, lets really tune in on him. It was awkward listening to him. Weird Madden like sounds, tailing dialogue, long pauses. Very little value added. I'm really curious if CBS is seeing it this way or if they're getting negative feedback. I have no horse in the announcer race. This has just been a pretty drastic decline.
  24. Ya, I think this logic is overplayed. We crushed White on clean hits. As we would do any QB, any game. It just happened to be that we landed about four knockout shots and the dude went Rocky mode.
