  1. Watching those highlights of Wyatt.... Teller pulling and pancaking Honey Badger in the Div playoff game, reminds me of "Rudy" Wyatt is a beast up front, that's about as 1-sided as a trade gets...Beane won't let that happen again
  2. Wow, Von at #93..... confused by that. Unreal, can't wait for him to explode in this defense.
  3. In a Bears offense that's been a complete mess, I'd say that's about right for him. I was hoping he'd slide in that draft class, as I recall, Bears drafted him immediately before we drafted Motor. I'm happy, Devin is a very good player, but Montgomery has a bit of 'Freddy' running style...he'd be even more of a household name on a legit offense
  4. I like it and great analysis! 1. I think Crowder and Hodgins will make it 2. Jones for ST/gunner...he's just that good at that role 3. Last spot to me is a bit different, I think we keep 6 LBs (Spector for now, will be interesting when Smith suspsension ends) and opt for Lewis over Blackshear. Unless Blackshear is in the plans for a returner role, I think they try to stash him on the P/S. I already think Dorsey will have his work cut out for him involving the top 3 RBs, and Lewis adds more value as a possible gunner and backup corner (especially with a bit of uncertainty with Tre's exact return, as of now).
  5. That makes sense. I agree with you, my post was likely confusing in return. I've been a big fan of Hodgins, and Speedy, both having solid camps (hoping Hodgins stays healthy and Speedy recovers soon). Definitely some difficult decisions. I'm already liking the Cook at KR and Shakir at PR idea, if that holds up to start the season. Gives more flexibility with gameday roster, essentially 1 more player, if we don't have to dress a dedicated returner.
  6. I agree with alot of this. It might be challenging to keep 7 WRs this yr, if that happens then likely Cam Lewis is cut (another player who is likely scooped up immediately). I think Jones is a lock, he's still a top ST/gunner in this league. Along with Neal, we have the best combination. Kumerow I have no problem being let go, but agree with others and when you said Hodgins needs "some" ST value. He doesnt need to be our next gunner, or even dress, but I can't see our WR6 offering little to no ST value, that's a luxury roster spot at that point. Good news, he seems to be receiving ST reps, hopefully he's making the most of those. I can't see us cutting Hodgins if he stays healthy and consistent.
  7. Yeah I can understand the "depth" concerns, when our primary backups are guys who have bounced between a team or two/have some flaws. Ideally we could have landed a solid interior OL in round 3-4, but Bernard was a solid pick and draft board must not have aligned. But many teams struggle to field a solid 5. I feel we've come along/improved vs last season, when Cody lined up as a starter week 1 (he's likely our 9th, maybe 10th OL right now). I'm good with our depth right now, considering what that means in the current NFL: 1. Mancz: starting experience, backup C 2. Quesennbery: past starter, I think he'd be fine at RT or RG backup 3. Doyle: continues his development, young guy who is likely our swing tackle next year 4. Ford or VanRoten: starting exp, think Ford makes it but not a lock. One of these guys likely gets traded, or Beane attempts to (barring injury) Next year, I see us drafting at least 1 maybe 2 guys again for the trenches. Until then, this group is better on paper than last year, IMO
  8. Great interview, and glad to see the young guys have success early. One thing that really stands out in this draft class, is the humble & "love the game" attitude they all have. Beane and Coach often talk of the Bills "dna", they clearly look for guys with these attributes. But when these mental aspects and talent align, look out. I think we can start to see this has the potential to be a very very good draft class
  9. Everyone realizes we rested our "top 7" OL yesterday, right? A rookie in Tenuta, who likely lands on our P/S was starting at RT and Bobby Hart at G (who might be another P/S candidate). This was going up against the Colts mostly starters. Same can be said of Keenum. He was behind this OL grouping that will never sniff a down (as a collective unit) this season. Put our starting OL in front of Keenum, and this is a different story.
  10. Would gladly take that, make it happen Beane!
  11. I'd be shocked if Kumerow or Duke could fetch a draft pick, even with Beanes prowess. Ford is competing with VanRoten. I think Cody makes it as our 9th. AJ is making this team, can't see a situation we want Shaq as our 4th DE. Epenesa played fairly well last night, think he is our 4th DE and makes it. Giles Harris is a definitely a good call out. I think he's on the bubble, between him/Dodson/Spector. Thought he played well, but I could see Beane getting a late pick for him (if we don't keep him).
  12. Both of them did, Shakir/Kumerow and Crowder was in the slot on 1st series. Appears you missed that. I personally don't take much stock in who starts a preseason game anyway. I'm going off of practice reports, player/coach/GM interviews, and ability to watch players and try to project their role on our team this season. You are certainly not lacking in the "self righteous" territory...as Coach would say, stay humble. Beyond difficult to engage in a conversation with someone who needs to be right constantly, then changes the framework/focus of discussion when possibly wrong. Good day, I can see this is a worthless cause
  13. Email came from Buffalo Bills. August 3rd, so I guess going on two weeks now. Subject: "Special NFL+ Offer for Season Ticket Holders"
  14. Agree on these points, and I think Moss showed last night that he looks alot more like his former self. Which was a former PAC 12 OFF POTY. I think each of our backs add a complementary component, albeit Moss and Motor are the most similar. For the reasons you stated, I think Moss just brings more value to keeping VS trading. I really like Motor, think he's primed for a great year. Will be fun to see Dorsey use all these guys, lots of talent to work with
  15. 1. NFL+: yes. received my link last week, and it was easy to sign up free (follow the link in the email they send) 2. Madden: hopefully you signed up for the download already, I think it was due by Aug 5th. 3. Playoff tix: quick reminder that ,"pay as you go" for playoff home games, is due by Sept 2nd. Separate email from ticket office last week, requiring opt in
  16. I think "starter" can be used loosely, both those guys will rotate and get their opportunities. Great signings, IMO. One of the major weaknesses last couple years. Von was obviously the big $$/hype, and deservedly so, but Jones/Settle/Phillips were very important in their own right. It's early, but I'm very excited about our front 4 this season....ability to shut down the run and pass rush with only 4. EWas already expecting Boogie/Groot/Ed to take their next step...Boogie came thru yesterday...he's got more explosiveness and added some variety to his pass rush arsenal
  17. Agree. Especially with the "riches" in the secondary, I think we might keep 11 there (more than past yrs) which means we might only be able to keep 6 WRs. Lewis and Benford can provide the ST support we need on the 53.
  18. Classic twisting of words, as you've said countless times that Kumerow is our primary backup outside...which many refuted, but you further tried to use the 1st depth chart to reinforce that point. For the past month, it's been complaining we didn't spend resources on offense and our backup options at outside WR were bad/Kumerow. Point is Kumerow never has been our primary outside backup, and second, we have other talented guys that many posters had faith in Beane/staff they brought in OR had guys that would compete there (Shakir and Hodgins). As far as Shakir, he will be used all over the offense. Including slot, outside, hback. We have alot of weapons to work with, which is what many have been trying to say to you all offseason (instead you insisted and worried Kumwrow is our backup WR outside, and lack of spending more capital on Wrs)
  19. Great summary. 1. Secondary: easiest roster decision, IMO, very impressive the quality starters and depth...our backups would start on many teams. Tre, Dane, Elam, Taron, Neal, Benford, Lewis, Hyde, Poyer, Johnson, and Hamlin should be the group making the 53. To me, this is likely the group we go "heavy" (roster spots) compared to prior years. Lewis and Benford would be snatched up immediately if they are cut, which I don't think they will be. I think Cam offers some nice ST versatility as well. 2. RB room: I'm really looking forward to seeing how Dorsey deploys our "skill" guys, especially at RB. Loads of versatility snd they complement each other well. Blackshear showed some nice ability, certainly a good P/S type. Overall, I'm very impressed with the young/rookie guys. With a loaded roster, it's great to see so many young players make an impact and I can easily see 6-7 rookies making the final 53. And a few to the P/S.
  20. I previously stated we'd keep 7, and been hammering that Shakir is going to be the primary backup outside, had listed this group prior in camp: Diggs Davis McKenzie Shakir Crowder Hodgins Speedy Only thing I would potentially modify is Speedy, bc he is now injured. He was having a solid camp by most accounts, as well as Coach praising him. I could still see us keeping him on the initial 53, then moving to IR (like last yr). I disagree with everyone saying Crowder will be cut. The slot role is EXTREMELY important in our offense, and think they will need him and McKenzie both this season. Especially with Shakir likely to be getting snaps outside too. As far as backup options at outside WR, hopefully @BADOLBILZ and @ScottLaw now see what everyone has been saying about Shakir (and Hodgins) compared to Kumerow. There is a wide gap in talent/potential with them Vs Jake...who is squarely on the roster bubble, even b4 his fumble last night.
  21. I'd say any bet is in the same category....preseason/blackjack/etc. All about what you want to do with your own money, but I wouldn't call someone a degenerate unless they are gambling more than their "means"....which is why I was defending why the poster said what he did about his salary, he clearly has the "means" to gamble that amount. Last post by me on this, FYI.
  22. Great win! IMO... Trending up: 1. Barkley: if there is a battle for backup QB, he certainly gained ground. Be curious if they switch him and Keenum in PS game 2. For thr record, I still think Case will be a fine backup, OL was struggling 2. Hodgins: I thought he'd make the team over Kumerow, before this game, and he only helped his cause 3. Blackshear: has been getting some nice compliments from practice, now we see what they've been seeing. He's got some nice wiggle/solid speed, and decisive. I don't see him making the team, but it would be a great P/S stash. 4. Entire backup secondary/defense: great performance against mainly colts starters. I'm convinced our backup safeties could start for at least 5-10 teams. Benford/Elam/Lewis played very well, and nice to see Boogie make a huge splash play (and Bernard for being in the right spot and finishing). 5. Bass/Araiza (even Haack had a nice punt to pin at the 10): all played very well, Bass looks spot on to start the year Trending down: 1. backup OL struggled at times. But they not only sat starters, but 2-3 key backups. I'm not concerned yet 2. DL, but mostly 3rd-4th stringers couldn't contain Ellinger 3. Backup TE. No clue what to make of Howard "starting" then seeing action late in the game. Maybe they truly have Knox then just Howard/Sweeney/Morris approx equal. Either way, Howard doesn't look like a lock
  23. Clearly. He's not the first person to share when they win a decent sized monetary bet....good for him, that's what I think. Different if he started his post with "look at me, I make so much $$$ that I can afford to do blah blah...". Someone was being judgmental and called him a degenerate, for gambling that much. When truly $1,500 /$400k is like someone making $50k annually betting $200....bottom line he was clarifying
  24. That's awesome man, glad you won. Your profession, if you don't mind answering
  25. He's excited he won $$$. Simple. So what?! Sounds petty and jealous everyone responding to either "block" or that's he's boasting. Someone questioned that he bet so much on preseason, he pointed out that he can afford it. Not sure the point of this
