Some head scratching playcalls by Stefanski. Watsons elusiveness still there. Browns imposing their will in the run game, expect some playaction shots maybe next drive. Sorry my bias against Steelers is obvious
-
Maybe worse
-
Not to mention Steelers best DT is out. Both teams likely going to start run, run, pass
-
Pickett's first two games have been outright bad.
-
wow horrible error by Gunner O
-
I expect a heavy dose of Najee and Warren. Don't want to get into 3rd and long against Myles and that Browns secondary.
-
Heyward being out is HUGE. Browns should be running the ball until Steelers can stop it Good call. That replay showed the TE made the right read, definitely on Watson
-
And just like that...Watson throws a pick 6. Not his fault, but wow
-
I didn't see a thread... Steelers- coming off a horrible offensive performance. Home crowd will be impatient, historically have had great success at home against Browns. They sustained key week 1 injuries to Heyward and Diontae Browns- week 1 showed off a great CB duo and strong dline. Schwartz leads a very good defensive unit, after a Saturday practice injury (Cooper groin), he is active. Can Watson avoid the Steeler tough front 4? Browns -2.5 spread. I think they cover, if Watson avoids turning it over. Chubb and the run game will be too much. Dawand Jones gets a tough matchup against Watt/Highsmith

Leonard Floyd and Micah Hyde say they're all good
MasterStrategist replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Coach labeled both as " day to day", during today's presser. Nothing groundbreaking, typical McD speak. Floyd looked very ginger walking off yesterday (I sit near the tunnel). But that could mean nothing. Hopefully both get in the hyperbaric, and quick recovery. Wouldn't surprise me to see them miss some practice time/rehab. Washington is a solid opponent, but the Miami game is alot more important. I'm curious if Rapp or Lewis would fill in for Micah. Rapp is more Poyer-type -
Yes. Same parking is open, but traffic was worse in general getting to the lot. Even for a home opener, heavier traffic. The main thing is the walk to the stadium. Because of construction, you can no longer walk the "grass"/straight path. You have to walk right through lot 3, then back to the left...adds a decent amount of extra walking.

Is Josh a mediocre QB right now? And does it matter?
MasterStrategist replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
JMO, Josh is letting mistakes compound during games. Said it earlier this week, but he starts pressing too much after his 1st turnover (sometimes) and what happened against the Jets. So I agree with those saying it's more mental. QBs need to live with the motto "onto the next play", good or bad. I have full faith that he rebounds, we can see that tomorrow. I've also said that Dorsey is a "small part" of the problem. We need to get better balance, run game/variation in formations (ie: under center). Small adjustments were what separated Daboll, at times. He wasn't perfect either, but did have a knack for mixing in the Josh designed runs/trick plays/etc., that I've yet to see Dorsey adjust with. Josh needs to be getting the ball out quicker/on-time. I think he's questioning coverages/ability to hit a bigger play (more often). Finding his groove again can happen at any point (tomorrow, week after), but sooner the better, more for the mental aspect and not letting confidence wane. -
Say what? lol

I don't know about that. Minny oline still a bit of a mess, Philly just needs to pound the rock. I think Philly pulls away in 2nd half.

Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
MasterStrategist replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Weather underground, not sure how reliable, is showing cloudy until about 5pm. If that's accurate, will take a day of not getting wet/sunburned -
It's an interesting thought. And totally agree on last point...even with Cook, we had a few "so close" moments of HUGE plays. Those should come. I think LY, and years past, would mix in some rush power sweeps/designed runs. Those are difficult to defend in general, but definitely helps get those safeties to creep up/adjust Cover 2 shell. I don't think Coach was going to be a "hypocrite" week 1, after preaching Josh protecting himself. BUT, they shouldn't be taking those plays completely away, 1-2 per game changes the perspective of the defense (just like the defense started to adjust to our smash concepts).

Can we talk about Gabe Davis's performance?
MasterStrategist replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not ready to put anything on any WR, until we see Josh improve his decision making & play other defenses. Jets were practically giving 5 yard passes all game, Josh started to go away from taking those. Not taking any honus off Gabe or others, just not the right time. It's basically the same as trying to put too much praise on the secondary, yet. Very hopeful, but we need to see a quality passing attack.- 143 replies

It's cool man. I think there are truths in both views, just see alot of mental errors/forces by Josh after watching all-22. I'd suggest go watch the Cover1 breakdown, that @Lostposted in the Joe Marino thread. After watching that, come back and tell me if you still put as much blame on Dorsey (or same Dorsey as LY).
-
We didn't take 5-7 drops from the gun, that often this game. Josh just held the ball. I'm not trying to be rude, but in your own thread you said we didn't even run "12 personell" enough. Where we ran it the most of any NFL team week 1. Not saying I'm right/you're wrong on all of this, I think you have good points. But the point remains that Josh had quick reads/guys open short.
-
Right, yeah I understand. I'm just saying I think they were the primary read (short passing) most of the night. The Jets were sitting in a cover 2 and left some open holes and Josh for whatever reason just didn't see them fast enough/a bit hesitant. But yeah, hopefully Dorsey adjusts too. Because if his QB is struggling, maybe they need to consider different route combinations/formations. It will be interesting to see what Dallas does against that defense. I expect they'll stay under center alot more and pound the ball/playaction, which is more their style. Perhaps food for thought for Dorsey, next go around.

Week 2 Bills vs Raiders Home Opener!
MasterStrategist replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes exactly. Greenbrier resort and practicing at SPC. Very nice place to stay, 5-star hotel/resort. So yes, all the people ripping on WV, it's actually a very nice destination. Similar to Nemacolin, for any SWPA folks. -
You're exactly right, that we don't know what Josh was reading exactly/what he's being told. However, a very similar situation happened against the Jets LY....Sauce sitting in cover 2 dropped off the flat route and picked off the corner route. Just something to consider, perhaps why Josh held an extra second and ball placement wasn't as expected. Hindsight is 20/20, but we are sitting 3rd and short, with a clear cover 2 shell defense. This is where as an offense, we have to be able to convert on the ground more often.

O'Cyrus Torrence.....Bills best O-lineman??
MasterStrategist replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
He and Dion both looked the part, played well. I wouldn't say any of our OL were great, or liabilities either. But Torrence and Dion most consistent good play. Then Morse and McGovern. Spencer gave up more pressures than I would have liked to see, getting mostly bull rushed/needed to anchor better.
