I'll be VERY surprised if he's there at our 2nd round pick, but I love this kid (Duck homer, if my name didn't give it away), but he's a DOG. Plus coverage guy but he's fearless and sound in supporting the run game. One of those guys who has a knack for making the big play when you need it -- very much like Tyron Matthieu in that way. I'd love this pick.

Serious suggestion, if you don't like all of the rigmarole of the draft, why watch it live? Why not record it, find out where we end up drafting, fast forward to all the stuff you don't like and just watch that part? Watching every moment of the draft isn't for everyone, and as someone who HAS for probably the last 25 years, I don't judge anyone who's not willing or able to carve out that much time in their weekend to do so. You do you! To answer your question, I think there's a pretty high likelihood we trade up and can see really any of the 20s being our potential landing zone, with any of Paye, Phillips if he drops, Marshall, or Rondale Moore, Farley and Newsome being sensible targets.

The Bills RBs are not good. The Bills RBs are also not fast. But those 2 points of evidence do not mean that speed is the missing piece of the puzzle. You're VASTLY overrating speed when it comes to evaluating RBs.

With the 77th pick, the Los Angeles Chargers select Brevin Jordan, TE, Miami. @H2o and the Vikings are on the clock. Jordan probably isn't the best player left on the board, but TE is a need for this team long-term and this late in the draft, a 2-way TE with Jordan's upside is a gift to Justin Herbert (who loves to use his TEs).

Chargers are on a conference call for the next hour so will solicit offers during that time. If none, will make the pick shortly thereafter...

I think Edmunds' biggest issue last year was playing hurt. Yes he's young, no the DL didn't do him any favors, but he also moved like he was playing at about 60% all season, I thought. I also wonder how much Milano being out impacted him.

There's too many ways to slice it to have a "one take fits all" approach to this draft class (or any draft class, really) and the uncertainty with Covid really just accentuates the nuances to that, but here's my best "broad swath" perspective on the class holistically. It's okay; strong in some areas, deep in others, weak across the board in a few... QB class is super top-heavy, but even after the big 5 there are 2 or 3 that may make some noise in the pros. RB class is doo doo after the first 2, I'm not even sold on Williams as being anything resembling a "stud" too far out, guy reminds me of Natrone Means in a lot of ways and -- shockingly -- means always had a tough time with durability. Adding another game to the schedule will do him no favors. WR class is VERY good, bordering on great. You've got 2 practically sure-fire studs and a 3rd who could also be elite if he can cut it at his diminutive size in the pros. Then a LONG list of guys who will either be solid #2 or #3s or who have intriguing potential that's going underappreciated due to covid. TE is like the RB class. 1 GOAT-level stud, a couple other guys who should be somewhat effective and a lot of back-end-of-the-roster guys, at best. OL class is very good. Gunner's talked about the OT class which is talented and deep, but I think the OG and C class is pretty solid too. Not as deep, but when a class looks like it's going to turn out 3-5 (or more) startable players, I tend to think that's at least a solid class. EDGE class is weird. There's a grouping of about 10 guys who realistically, when all's said and done, could all slot just about anywhere in their 1-10 rankings and I wouldn't be shocked. I'm not sure I see a true star among the group, with Phillips being the closest, but having legit questions himself, but because there are quite a few high-ceiling types in this class, I wouldn't be at all surprised to have one or two emerge as a true diamond. DT class is weird too. The big boys/NT/1T types aren't great, but there's also not a lot of separation from top to bottom so I could see quite a few being serviceable. I think the leaner 3T/gap-shooter/1gap type guys are solid, if unspectacular. Barmore's the closest thing to a standout star and has potential to get there, but there's another 8 or 9 guys that I think will have solid NFL careers. LB is solid and deep, but again, unspectacular (though Parsons will be a star if he has his head on right). CB class is a lot like the WRs, 2 or 3 difference makers, another 8-10 guys who should be solid starters and a handful of intriguing upside guys. S class is fairly meh, looks like 4 or 5 guys will make it, but also won't be shocked if there's a CB convert or two who hang in there too, so it's certainly not bad. Looking at this as a Bills fan, I would call drafting 2 or 3 solid players and 1 intriguing upside guy an extremely successful draft, and I think that's certainly achievable. Is it the greatest draft of all time? Certainly not, is it completely devoid of talent? Absolutely not. I think we'll see a good deal more "sleepers" coming out of the 5th and 6th and 7th rounds and probably more early round busts, just due to the limited film and ability to really get into guys' heads that teams have had in the past, but I feel *fine* about it overall.

Probably just too hard to organize and make reasonable since every voter is a bills fan... for better or worse, I think it’s actually informative in showing how important it is for beane to do his thing and move around the draft board.

My favorite is the fact that people were voting for a 4th rd DE AFTER WE JUST TOOK ONE IN THE FIRST. Probably should’ve been Eskridge or Cox.

This isn’t Kiper missing or showing off. He’s done this dance for a decade + now. It’s all about promoting the later rounds and making it seem like every draft is 7 rounds deep (why ESPN hasn’t already done a UDFA special I’m no sure, but feels like we’re getting there). While Mel Kiper may be the founding member of the draftnik community, he’s content on espn is solely to drive engagement and interest in ESPN’s draft coverage now. Anything of him should be taken as solely marketing fluff and not valid or genuine analysis.

It’s not our strongest position, by any means. And obviously in this scenario we’re a little on tilt, so it certainly wouldn’t be the worst pick — far from It. I just think our situation at TE and CB, especially, is rough.

Yeah these options are as unexciting as rd 1. Which is exactly why I expect Beane will move around as much as he’s able to maximize the value of those picks. In this scenario, where we’re not considering trades, it really comes down to value and “playing the board” (incorporating position depth/scarcity into your picks). That’s why I voted Jordan. I’d prefer we collect a bunch of “B” type players than maybe maybe one “B+“ and a bunch of “Cs”. Going purely BPA is the other way to go, and that’s probably Cox, at this point, but that doesn’t really do a lot for us from an improving the roster standpoint... Could work, but I don’t really see G as a massive need either, AND, pushing a T inside isn’t always as easy a transition as it feels like it should be... Like the player a lot (I took him in the first mock we did) but my hope is that we’re able to address a more pressing need this early...

Voted for Jordan due to position scarcity. We need help there and WRs and cbs will be there later. Agree, value-wise. I just don’t think OT is a big need for us...
