Breakdown of McBeane's Team Building Tendencies (So Far)
phillyguy1 replied to JGMcD2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think as far as team building, this shows that they really value Mcdermott's ability to evaluate talent to fit his defense. That's why they are a little more willing to invest value in offense. -
I think this does mean that K Johnson probably won't be back, but in a positive way because he is almost certain to make more than 7-8 mil. Norman is almost a K. Johnson signing in that it's someone familiar to the coaching staff that's trying to re-establish his value brought in on a one year deal. When you look at what Mcdermott, Frazier, Butler, and Babich Jr. have done for the value of Tre, Poyer, Hyde, Johnson, and Wallace, I can't think of a reason any db wouldn't want to come here for a year or two to see what they can do.

Is Jason Peters the greatest Eagle of all time?

Steve Van Buren. Multiple league Mvp. All time rushing leader when he retired. Cornerstone of greatest era of Eagles football. Then White and Bednarik. -
Head Coach Security Ratings: A Retrospective

Sean probably moves up two spots to ten ahead of Arians and Tomlin. No one in the tier above is falling out yet. Although Gruden and Petersen may be dropping a couple spots. -
QB Davis Webb - Meet Bills New #3 QB
phillyguy1 replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's on practice squad and will in theory run scout team offense the next two weeks at least. We'll see how long he lasts after that. -

Week 1 and week 2. If we win those games based on strong defensive showings he might deserve a game ball. Coach Bellichick couldn't have done this better. -
Sunday 9/1 Cut /Waiver Update thread

He also knows the next two offenses we are going to play as well as anyone, being he played on the Giants last year and Jets this preseason. If we start 2-0 he probably deserves a game ball. This is Bellichick level stuff. -
Mcdermott was the one who found Norman in Carolina. He's talked about it in newspaper articles about finding Norman on tape and how he was taught to watch tape and scout dbs by his mentor Jim Johnsom. That said our corner back depth is spectacular. Norman may come into play if there are injuries though.

Dalton Risner for culture, Taylor for need, and B. Murphy for scheme fit.

So ...who knows where the Pegula jet is....

It’s got to be Rudolph. The tweet praising Bobby Johnson sounded like a passive aggressive plea to McBeane to come get him out of there. -
KR/WR Andre Roberts (Jets) to Bills

He took a team with Tyrod Taylor as its starting QB to the playoffs. And don't forget. Mcdermott and Beane really are a team. They work together well and make each other better. -
What I would like to see the Bills do going forward

Yeah. He and Risner are probably the most McDermotty guys in the draft. And throw in Rock Ya-Sin. He was a wrestler. -

Because you asked. I would bet Drue tranquill from ND ends up on our roster. Like Milano he's a converted safety. Tested welll at the combine. And is a fifth year senior. Extremely processy. -
Just look at demand for tackles the last couple years. No one thought Ricky Wagner would get the contract he got last year. Then you saw teams trade up in the first round for Mcglinchy and Miller. Now today, Brown got 16 Mil. per year and James 13 mil. As much as I'd like to say we get him for 10MIl. per year. The market is saying something different. I agree but if the ol we sign isn't a tackle. We almost have to go that way.
-
The most interestimg thing is that both tackle signings today were for only 4years. I thought the Bills would have to go five years for Williams. So while the average per year is going up on all of these guys, the years aren't. I think Williams is going to get 4/60 mil. now.

Not a bad start to free agency
phillyguy1 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Someone said that if he's cut next year it's only a 1.3 mil. cap hit. Very manageable. Beane is showing he knows how to structure contracts. -
He was a possible franchise tag target. Collins cleaned out his locker as confirmation he won't be franchised.
-
They have the cash to spend. Hopefully they use it here.

Landon Collins is allegedly out with the Giants.
