Browns would have to time that with the proper QB class, and Haslam would have to convince a good coach that there’s job security.

The ability of defenses to slow down the underneath stuff is going to be dependent upon Coleman’s development and Cooper’s ability to integrate into the offense. Keon has already shown the ability to break a tackle and turn a hitch into a splash play, and he’s shown he’s capable of getting open deep on scramble drills. The whole league knows Cooper can get open deep, so he’d have to prove otherwise. That said, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Shakir start putting up career production that’s somewhere between K Allen and R Cobb if he stays relatively healthy. In other words… a guy that consistently sniffs a thousand yards, has the ability to have monster games, and goes over 1,000 yards 3-5 times. Shakir’s yac ability and catch percentage make him a serious problem for defenses.

TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?

Perk of having Mixon -
You need to find an older top offensive HC that got fired for that to happen. With the way the NFL operates now finding a former offensive minded HC that’s been fired and is not going to be given another shot isn’t likely. The best shots at that with McDs contacts are probably Peterson and “maybe” Daboll. It’s just not a reliable probability with the way the league is operating, and sadly…. Pegula is probably content just winning the division and selling seats every year.

If JA17 manages to get 35+ TDs, keeps the INTs below 10 (<1 per game from here on out), and the Bills win the division by a wide margin it’ll be difficult to argue against him being MVP using previous media narratives. He’s probably going to need to win a big nationally televised game with dominant box score stats against another top QB to take it though…. Unless Lamar stumbles with a bad prime time game.

Stay tuned… They’re going to debate the speed of swallows carrying coconuts next week.

Brown is too cheap to pay Taylor and a new HC at the same time. 😂.
-
He’s his own personal mash unit, but I’d rather have Watson because he can break a game open, shift coverages, etc. That said, Doubs has been a guy that shows up in big games - prime time & playoffs - for them.
-
You can definitely pay the guys who are weapons, especially if they don’t have an injury history. The CMC’s, Kamara’s, and Aaron Jones types that can line up outside, in the slot, or go in motion in addition to running the ball have expanded value compared to traditional RBs for sure. They can shift coverages and/ pull LBers out of the box to create mismatches on the field.

“Jets are in complete disarray” - B/R Article

Better than 2 sacks, 3 passes defended, and a fumble recovery? That’s Epenesa’s stats from the last game against the Jaguars. -
Good lord, Jacobs is on pace for 40 carries and 250 yards. 😂
-
Yeah, but that was a different regime. 😂

Size certainly plays a part. Smaller guys are definitely more likely to get injured, especially since the bigger guys keep getting faster and able to apply more force to contact. I think a big aspect though is the change in preseason standards over the years. The human body needs to be conditioned for the violence, and the reduction in hitting eliminates a bunch of that conditioning. There likely isn’t enough hitting in camp to condition the body. When that’s coupled with the starters barely playing in preseason games these guys just aren’t conditioned for the violence of the regular season.

At the end of the day that decision is a matter of durability, contribution to the passing attack, game breaking ability, and value of the overall contract. RBs have deflated market value in general due to over saturation, but there’s extreme value in particular weapons that can stress a defense in multiple ways. Just depends on how much you have to pay for them. I said this upthread, but paying Cook CMC money is something I wouldn’t do, but paying him Aaron Jones money is something I can see Beane considering in this current offense.
