My guess is they draft two WRs. One of them competes with Isabella for return duties. Hell I'd be happy with Hyde on a vet minimum contract to catch punts and be a mentor for a rookie safety. I would be perfectly happy if they rushed 11 and never even put a guy back there to catch the punt. Facetious I know but it would be a fun experiment to try.

Justin Simmons released (now visiting N'awlins)

18M for a safety. How the hell does that happen??? Seriously these GMs are morons. Two first round picks for Adams??? -
The whole situation smells like another McD screw up. The guy was injured but instead of putting him on IR they let him languish with no announcement and just sit him every week until they finally put him on IR. Maybe the player hid the injury which is stupid if true. Probably has as much raw talent as any CB on the team. As with all things I dont trust McDermott at all and place the blame with him until proven otherwise. I would not be surprised if he sits again while we suffer another year of this clown HC.

Have to wonder over time if it will just become acceptable to leave out the dash. Language evolves overtime and words and definitions get updated. Irregardless was not felt to be a proper word and it is now in the dictionary.

No thanks Beane needs to tell McDermott to play Elam. I'm sure they will draft a day 3 CB. Only way Gilmore or any other FA CB would make sense is if they want to move Benford to safety

The free agent safety market is unbelievable

Are any of these guys better than Rapp? Honest question as I don't know much about many of the names. Most seem old and on their final legs Have to figure there are a few that would have been just as good and maybe cheaper. But Rapp knows the system now. I'd add another cheap veteran age 25-28 and draft another. -
How the hell did they sign him to a deal that would have ever paid him$3M in the first place. Hate the roster and cap space used for special teams. I understand it was probably all funny money but still. League minimum and rookie deals is all we can and should be paying for ST guys.
-
Hope so. We still are going to lose multiple FAs - Dodson, Jackson, Epenesa, and Davis for sure. It should be rather easy for Beane to be net negative especially with 11 draft picks to play with.
-
He was a disappointment last year. I would have been fine if they had just gone with two new guys and a draft pick. Oh well. Beane usually has one or two overpays per year. This seems like one.

This is amazing. Best case he hits all his incentive money and he has a monster year!!!!

What FA Signings Have Directly Lead to SB Wins?
Ethan in Cleveland replied to st pete gogolak's topic in The Stadium Wall
My bad. I am usually better with my facts. You are correct. -
No way he is the punter game 1. They will draft or sign someone else. There must be some law that they must always have a punter on the roster, because Martin will be gone soon too
-
He's washed. He got toasted in the KC playoff game on the Kelce TD. He is so slow now. Great player for a long time. Very sad McD cost him a SB or two.

I am a bit surprised on this one. Though another restructure might be in order. I thought once Beane finally got the OL right he would stick with it another year. I thought it was more likely he would retire than get cut. When he said he was coming back, I thought ok, one less hole to fill. They can focus on WR and DL. I criticized this contract from day 1. He was never as good as his contract paid him. But for what he provided the OL and Allen it was probably worth it.
-
I feel odd about this one. We are crediting Beane for cutting this guy, but it was Beane who signed him last year and he was a flop. At least he is wiling to eat/own his mistakes.

Feel bad how his Bills career ended but this needed to happen. Douglas was playing at a higher level than White ever did post ACL.

Bills re-signing Edwards 2yr/$6M
Ethan in Cleveland replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
He was used as 3rd TE in every game. That's where the majority of his snaps came. He wasn't used in a rotation McGovern missed a few plays during the year but not many. Torrence didn't miss any if I recall. He got some mop up duty when they pulled the starting OL too. -

I like the player. Like the role. A bit pricey but solidifies the backup OL spot nicely. One less hole to fill. Really like the OL group as of now. Would take a flyer on a day 3 OT to develop. Net neutral effect on comp pick formula. He is not a FA lost but also one less FA they would need to sign. Can we get rid of the FB now??? This guy takes all the snaps as the third TE. We don't need to waste any money on a FB who is always touted as the emergency 3rd TE. -
Quandre Diggs should be priority 1 in FA
Ethan in Cleveland replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope. They need to get younger on defense I'd be fine with a middle of the road safety in FA like Poyer and Hyde when they signed them. Then draft a mid-round pick to develop. -

Charles Haley Cowboys James Lofton for our very own Bills played a massive role in SB runs -
Quandre Diggs, Jamal Adams - Released from Seattle
Ethan in Cleveland replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. Adams can provide run support and the occasional safety blitz. McD rarely blitzes his safeties. He's really poor in coverage. Terrible fit for Bills. Why ? The cap might go up another 10% next year. Win now at all costs. If you want to help the cap next year I'd cut White this year not Poyer. -
Generally agree. I'd just add that any good DC can find the weak link on the OL and exploit it. The last few years that was generally up the middle against our very poor OGs. Beane fixed both guard spots in one year and it looks like Brown is good enough at RT. Just need Dawkins and Morse to stay healthy and above average for one more year.
