  1. What is it with former Bills' RB's? Ugh. Gore, Lynch. Henry, Simpson...
  2. I agree with your explanation. Definitely remember the days of the Atari 2600 n the 80's. Good times. Even better was the actual arcade experience. Ms. Pac-Man and Donkey Kong ruled back then.
  3. I don't begrudge. You make a convincing argument. I guess I am too used to the days of Space Invaders for Atari 2600, lol. I did have fun as a kid playing those. Maybe I will try one, someday, if I have the time. (But I'd rather watch YouTube highlights from the Bills upcoming Super Bowl win!)
  4. Honestly, it's a video game, so I don't really care. Also, I may be old school, but back in my day, only kids played video games and watched cartoons. Sorry!
  5. The '85 Bills (when both Stephenson and Bullough coached) were actually quite talented, despite the 2-14 record: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/1985_roster.htm Joe Cribbs Greg Bell Andre Reed Jerry Butler Ken Jones Jim Ritcher Will Grant Tim Vogler Joe Devlin Bruce Smith Fred Smerlas Ben Williams Jim Haslet Lucious Sanford Steve Freeman Charles Romes Derric Burroughs Martin Bayless Scott Norwood At least eight of them could arguably start on the 2022 Bills.
  6. Eller played 16 years in the NFL from 1964-1979. 15 with Minnesota and one with Seattle. Zero league championships. He could have been a world champion twice had he signed with Buffalo. Tsk, tsk.
  7. And he had to sign a low contract in 2020 with Cleveland (base salary of $1.35 million in 2022, with a $1.5 million roster bonus and per-game roster bonus of $200,000 each — up to $3.4 million, according to PFT), while Watson got $230 fully guaranteed.
  8. Here is the video of that infamous incident from TMZ: or here (smaller, but you don't have to watch it on YouTube):
  9. As long as there is no "Homerun Throwback" with defenders not maintaining lane integrity, lol! BTW, off-topic, but your user name reminded me of Smerlas's tendency to jump the gun. Drove me crazy. Thanks for that, lol! That, and the tendency of those 80's Bills always running up the middle under Chuck Knox. Even as aq kid, I knew what was coming when the Bills O lined up a certain way. At least we had Cribbs and Leaks.
  10. Sorry for my late reply, and that I revived a (somewhat) dead topic from earlier this week. Clooney comes from a talented family. I did not know this about his father! Also, Clooney's aunt was Rosemary Clooney, a cabaret singer who appeared on his TV show ER. Here is a clip of Ed Kilgore, btw, hosting the Jim Kelly show in the 80's, with Kelly going behind the scenes of the making of the famous Kelly's Heroes poster: [BTW, why isn't Fred Smerlas's twitter account verified? I guess those youngins don't remember him!]
  11. But, I might add, that if we play the same opponent in the divisional positional matchups from one season to the next, there is also not a rotation. For example, Buffalo played Tennessee on the road in 2019, 2020, and 2021 (we played them at home in 2018). We played Tennessee away in 2019 and 2020 because it was the AFC East's turn to play the single same-position AFC South opponent on the road two years in a row; it just happened to be Tennessee both years. (Both Buffalo and Tennessee finished third in their respective divisions in 2019, and second in their respective divisions in 2020.) In 2021, it was the AFC East's turn to play all four teams in the AFC South. We played Tennessee on the road because 2021 was our year to do so. We also played all four AFC South teams in 2018, and the Tennessee game was home that time, like Gunner mentioned above. We do happen to play the single same-position AFC South team at home both this year and 2023, since it is the AFC East's turn to do so this time. This year it happens to be Tennessee, since both teams finished first in 2020. Next year, it will be also at home against the single same-position AFC South opponent, possibly Tennessee again if both teams finish in the same place in their respective divisions. Or we could host Indianapolis instead if both teams finish first, for example this year. We could also host Jacksonville if both teams finished last this year (year, right). [BTW, no is complaining we have hosted or will host Pittsburgh three years in a row: 2020, 2021, 2022, except maybe on the Steelers forums. Also, Green Bay had to play at Dallas seven (!) times in a row from 1993-1996 (4 straight regular season and 3 straight in the playoffs.]
  12. And a somewhat decent return specialist who we ended up waiving. According to his Wikipedia page: "McCloud signed a one-year contract extension with the Steelers on March 11, 2021.[21] McCloud became the Steelers' primary return specialist, returning 28 kickoffs for 646 yards and 29 punts with an average of 10.7 yards. He was named by Pro Football Focus on its All-Pro roster as a second-team return specialist."
  13. I remember the days of the 80's, when I went to a college interview out-of-state, and my father felt the need to voluntarily apologize for us being from Buffalo and for the team's poor play. I was thinking to myself: "please just shut up; let's not rub it in", lol!
  14. Thank you. Excellent reply. I do remember the Reggie Roby days and announcers going gaga over him with the Dolphins, with their new hang time counter on NBC at the time (which covered the AFC). I also remember the old days of the coffin corner. A lost skill today.
  15. I'm cheap. The only jersey I owned is a green Terrell Owens jersey from Philadelphia when he signed with Dallas (when I used to live in the Philly area). After he left, Sports Authority had them on clearance for $1. I couldn't resist, lol. Figured I could use it when I climbed under my car to change the oil. I eventually tossed it, but then he signed with Buffalo. [BTW, the fans there are obnoxious, but not as much as the New England ones when I lived in Maine.] Your post had me a little confused at first, thinking why would he want a jersey for the New Jersey Jets or Giants (lol)?
  16. Thanks for posting this good nugget. If Araiza can punt farther but with the same hang time as (or less than) Haack, wouldn't that give the returner a running head start against the defenders? Just wondering.
  17. Better to look like a penis than smell like one:
  18. Excerpt: "Terrell Owens got into such a heated argument with a woman in his neighborhood on Wednesday night, cops had to get involved ... and when they arrived, the woman quarreling with the football legend screamed at T.O., "You're a Black man approaching a white woman!" Parts of the incident were captured by Owens on his social media live stream -- after he and one of his neighbors apparently got into a dispute over the way he had been driving around his neighborhood. Owens began filming the incident moments after cops had arrived on the scene. In the footage, the woman accused T.O. of driving recklessly, nearly hitting her with his car, and then getting out of his ride to intimidate her. Owens adamantly denied the allegations, saying he was driving safely, and only got out of his vehicle because she was screaming profanities at him."
  19. Let's add Keith Gretzky to that list.
  20. Fine with me. As as he doesn't play against the Bills. (We play Cleveland their 10th game, or Week 11.)
  21. Please, 46 and 47 are not old. Not even close. It's that people in their 20's or below are ultra young.
  22. Agreed. I have no idea what they are, or even the instagram channels, movies, videos or whatever on top of someone's page with the regular IG posts. You can post a video in your IG posts, so I am not sure what the stuff at the top is or why it is necessary. Can you now post to IG from a computer? I hate using cell phones. And now those YouTube shorts confuse me. Snap Chat is even more confusing, to the point where I won't even touch it anymore. I don't know why there is an obsession by young people with social media. There is no need for it.
  23. What a surprise: same as Josh Allen [wry smile]! :-)
