  1. Did you go by a different username back then? I was a member of the board, but this board seems much more welcoming and inviting.
  2. Drew Rosen doesn't have the talent nor the wherewithal as Josh Allen. He had a solid collegiate career, but I'm not sure he's a high quality teammate. Josh has demonstrated the ability to motivate the men around him. He's the kind of guy you want on your side in a foxhole. Not to bash Rosen, but I can't say the same for the young man.
  3. There's a difference between checkdowns where you don't give your guy a chance to RAC and the less effective checkdown where you chuck it to the guy who's 2 yards or less past the sticks and there's a lane to throw but no room to run. When the game slows down for Josh, his entire game will improve because he'll recognize the difference. This is going to be crucial in his development. We need to understand that progression was likely to be the last thing to come for Josh as he was viewed as extremely raw coming in. He's an extremely bright guy so I believe he'll pick it up and thrive.
  4. I've never been a big fan of Matt Ryan despite the numbers. That young man seems to lack that oomph that the upper echelon QB's possess. This can't be quantified and I'm sure the analytics folks, who I respect, will have a different take. I just think there's something missing with Matt Ryan.
  5. Doug Whaley wasn't the greatest GM but I'm not one to lament the past nor nitpick draft picks and coulda woulda shoulda's. It's an exercize in futilty if you ask me. I've been on this earth for 78 years and I'm not one to live in the past. If others enjoy such a thing, I'm not one to rain on parades. Just adding my two cents.
  6. Oh I think he may struggle some and there should be no expectations that the club MUST win or anything like that. I have seen enough from Allen to believe he's not going to look like past Bills quarterbacks. It's a tough environment to be sure but I believe Josh is up to the challenge. I don't expect a repeat of the GB performance is all I'm saying because he's been much better since his time off.
  7. You're not really expounding on this but I think what you mean is that teams are going to be more willing to throw to White's side even if the receiver is "covered." The one area this young man needs to improve upon is contested ball skills.
  8. I could be in the minority here, but I love the moxie our QB shows compared to Sam Darneld. Darnold seems like a bright guy and all but he doesn't have the outstanding physical traits that Josh Allen demonstrates on a weekly basis. Darnold is a heady ballplayer with a lower floor, but the sky is the limit with Josh the rocket Allen.
  9. I don't mean to offend anyone here, but I don't get the intent. There are terrific young ball players on every club and every team makes their picks and hopes for the best. My personal approach is to not lament the fellas we didn't choose and support the ballplayers we've acquired. There's some terrific young men we've brought on board over the past couple of seasons.
  10. OK Mister Negative!? I understand this is a tough matchup and I expect Josh to take some time to adjust to Belichick but he's gonna make a lot of things happen out there I believe. I don't know that we'll win, but we have our franchise QB AT LONG LAST. We've had some nice young men at QB but nobody who had this kind of raw talent and sticktoitevness. I expect Josh to make some wow plays even if he makes a few errors along the way. I don't see this team getting smoked with Josh. He understands the importance of this rivalry and he's gonna make sure the team shows up and shows out even if we fall short.
  11. We needn't trash our fellas in order to prop up Allen. We all know Allen is the real deal but Foster is rounding into form and the guys are working their tails off. Josh has the ability to elevate those around him as we saw in the Mic'd up bit. There's plenty of guys who'll stick next season like McKensie, Foster, Dawkins, Teller, and yes even Croom. Let's support our boys in blue!
  12. I'll be right there with you if Allen lays an egg in Foxborough. Not gonna happen. Kid has too much fight. We may not win, but Allen is growing by leaps and bounds with each and every start. Daboll is starting to turn this thing around as well. We were historically bad and he adjusted and we're shaping up and shipping out the dead weight.
  13. Yep. Can't wait to see what the haters have to say when he plays lights out in NE. The supporting cast isn't very good, but they're improving and Josh is ready to take the next step. He's not gonna fold in NE like Free J Manuel. Manuel was a good man, but a terrible QB. Josh is the real McCoy. I'll be discouraged if he doesn't play well in NE. I don't expect that to happen. There's too much fight in that dog.
  14. Gimore can be having a better season than White and the Bills could have made the right decision to not compete for his services. It's not an either or proposition.
  15. It would seem to me that the players union would have been the side that pushed the roster number from 46 to 53. No idea how it benefits either side to only have 46 active.
  16. Really unfortunate circumstances too. He thought he could drink because the BROWNS season was over. Had a couple drinks on the plane and was tested when he landed. Turned out the ban was for the football calendar which didn't end until after the Superbowl. Of course it was silly of Gordon not to know those rules and considering what has transpired since, probably wouldn't have mattered. Either way, not a big fan of throwing stones from glass houses. The word "loser" could certainly be thrown at people who work menial jobs, etc. Josh Gordon attained success in the NFL and made some mistakes so who's the LOSER? My answer would be neither because labeling others as such is a fools errand.
  17. Mental health in this country can often be a joke. They give out a bunch of pills because big pharma likes it and ask a few questions then send you on your way. A more holistic approach is more effective, but money reigns supreme. Sticking to the subject, Josh Gordon seems like a smart troubled young man. I hope the best for him. It's not going to be in football.
  18. I hope the young man gets his life together. He's actually EXTREMELY intelligent if you've ever heard him speak. Sometimes overthinkers turn to drugs and alcohol. No reason to bash the young man when he's clearly down.
  19. I like White as much as the next guy but Gilmore has been superior this season. Tre looks more committed to the team and that's a positive going forward, but PFF is most certainly a valuable tool. It's not the be all end all, but it paints a picture.
  20. You're clearly not seeing that the kid is improving each and every week. You're expecting him to perform like past Bills quarterbacks ala Tyrod, Edwards, EJ, Losman etc. This kid is different and there's ZERO BB can do about it. Winners don't lay eggs in Foxborough. We may not win, but Allen will improve once again.
  21. I have a feeling Shady just might be toast. He's lost a step or 8. Excellent FOOTBALL character but probably not gonna cut it anymore.
  22. We've said it so many times that we're scared to say it. Brady is really toast. Maybe one more run but that's it. His body is failing him. Father Time is undefeated.
