  1. Landed right on it. Total speculation but I'd be surprised if he played again this season.
  2. Mariotta hurt his elbow again.
  3. EJ Manuels is an excellent young man. What's with the vitriol? We're all happy to have Josh Allen, but I also respect what Manuels did. Worked hit tail off, but wasn't good enough. Taylor was hurt in Jaguars contest.
  4. Don't often see a team run a play up against the two minute warning with no real time restraints. Figured they were gonna take it down to the buzzer. Should have in retrospect. Maybe Vrabel is so far ahead of the curve that those 3 seconds were on his mind.
  5. If I remember correctly and it's been awhile(RAY Didinger), he (Glen) bashed our city quite a bit. I don't get too caught up in that because everyone has their opinion. Not sure if it was Glen or one of the other fellows, but he always bashed Buffalo. The guy I'm thinking of.
  6. The best. I lived in Delaware for a short while. The morning guys were a little too jokey for my taste but still enjoyed listening. Roy Didinger was an excellent X's and O's fellow.
  7. With that number, there's really no reason to cut him loose unless they feel confident he's not going to be healthy. Not a fan of cutting guys just for the heck of it. Can never have enough pass rushers as I said, and he's a decent player when available.
  8. It depends on what we've save by cutting him. He's capable of getting home when healthy and you can never have enough pass rushers. If we save most of the cap hit though, I'd be tempted to see what's out there in FA.
  9. For sure. I'm not a Murphy guy. Just don't like unreliable players. Lawson is not a guy I'd invest heavily in although he's developed a niche at setting the edge. The up and coming pass rusher is one I'd like to see opposite Hughes, not in lieu of him.
  10. It's possible that a guy streaking toward the pylon/sideline would have a competitive edge knowing a fumble OOB wouldn't end the possession, but that's pretty remote the more I think about it.
  11. Even if he didn't get an NFL HC gig in 2019, which I think he would, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell a SB winning head honcho goes back to coaching special teams. I admire Doc's desire to have such a distinguished man coaching our special teams squad, but it's far fetched. Maybe he would want to follow his brother back to a college HC gig, maybe he sits out a year. One thing I know for sure is the man isn't coaching a special teams squad.
  12. Maybe more like 5 mil for both years. Not a huge deal. Just somewhat curious. You make a good point regarding the lack of publicity.
  13. Sometimes I wonder if they're tongue in cheek tricksters and hucksters. Nobody can honestly believe the Jets head coaching choice should impact things over at One Bills drive. I don't like to bash others opinions, but that's beyond the pale in my humble opinion.
  14. He would have went from obscurity to an NFL household name had he gone to LA. It's unfortunate our boys don't get credit because of lack of success/small market. That being said, I'd like to add another up and coming rusher considering Jerry's age and the fact that you can never have too many pass rushers. Most important position on defense in todays NFL.
  15. Sacks are like home runs. Don't happen often but mean a ton when the occur. If you get rid of Hughes, you damn well better be bringing in a ton of pass rushers because even he's not enough.
  16. I agree with the sentiment, but I'm pretty sure the clock stops on penalties in late game situations even if it would normally run such as a run play. Not 100 percent sure though.
  17. McDermott is a strong leader of men with a compassionate side. I think the KB debacle was an example of his willingness to work with a struggling young man but he may have learned a thing or two from the situation. He's going to be a terrific coach, especially if he remains aggressive as I also think he's learning to be less conservative. He appears to have his philosphy but is also open to new ideas should they become available. He is growing into a champion IMO. He deserves some criticism for the Peterman debacle but he falsely believed in the kid.
  18. There's really only one good reason to keep the rule and that's to prevent players from over-extending knowing there's no repurcussions for fumbling OOB in the EZ. I'd keep it, but I see both sides.
  19. Is it possible Hollywood will be there in the 2nd? I don't believe in not drafting a receiver because we have a guy with a similar skill set. You can never have too much speed and you can never have too many playmakers. The old jump ball receivers are not as valuable as they used to be with the more intricate passing schemes. It's great to have a 6'5 guy you can throw a fade to but those are really not high pct plays and teams don't do it nearly as often anymore.
  20. Josh Allen is a upstanding citizen who happens to have a howitzer for an arm and excellent mobility and I'm extremely proud he's in a Buffalo uniform. I don't buy much merchandise but I've ordered quite a bit for Christmas. I don't do jerseys but there's a treasure trove of memorabilia available. I ordered some items which are somewhat spoofy but I know the youngsters will love them.
  21. Does anyone know the contract details? My guess is something around 5 mil/year. You never know how a California boy will adjust to live in Western New York but it seems as though Matthew has really taken to it swimmingly,.
  22. I don't really understand the acrimony against the youngster. It appears from the periphery that Pittsburgh was yanking him around with the franchised tag. He's still a fine player in my estimation. Andrew Luck is excellent at throwing to backs and TE's and I suspect he'd have a heck of alot of success in Indianapolis catching the pigskin out of the backfield.
  23. Bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, especially when it comes to pass rushers.
  24. Very annoying but if you do it enough, you learn to live with it. Not sure if you saw the Duquesne Penn State game but THAT was a bad beat. Nice call on the PLUS 16.5 but YOU missed out on the ML!?
