Josh is playing in the Pebble Beach pro am next week.
butch rolle replied to Southern Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is best ball. Not to be confused with a scramble. People use these labels interchangeably but they are two different things. This tournament is best ball. -
Not sure if you all caught it but on Pat McAfee today, Josh pretty much confirmed my suspicion. He has added about 10lbs since Wyoming, now weighing in at 245, yet has managed to get faster. As Pat likes to say, Josh is a WAGON!!!

I was just talking about this today with a friend of mine. I know that his mobility was certainly a factor in the Bills drafting him but I think his rushing prowess to this extent is just found money. The more he puts on tape of him throwing in scramble situations (see the first Knox TD on Saturday) makes it even harder to contain him as a runner. Pick your poison! He does look like a bit of a giraffe in his combine sprint and I truly believe that his 4.75 40, while still impressive, is way off of his actual game speed. When he hits his stride, just look at how he pulls away from LB's, some of which who ran 4.5-4.6. I wonder how much Josh truly weighs at this point. He looked so babyfaced when he was first drafted at 6-5/237. He looks much more like a man now and I can't help but think he's added another 5-10 lbs just as most players do when the enter the NFL in their early 20's and fill out. I'm sure glad I don't have the task of spying him.

Trade for Josh adjustment is just about the funniest Bills tweet I've ever read

I know the prevailing sentiment is "act like we've been there before" but I just have to bump this thread and keep it alive. This was honestly the most satisfying win I can recall since the 90's Bills. I live 20 minutes from Foxboro and most of my close friends, apart from my hometown Buffalo buddies, are Pats fans. Last years December beatdown in Foxboro, while enjoyable, felt somewhat empty because of no fans, Cam Newton, Covid related excuses from Pats fans etc. Once the afterglow of Sunday's game had dissipated and the family was asleep, I poured many glasses of bourbon, and rewatched the entire broadcast version on NFL gamepass. At the same time, I queued up the Bills/Pats gameday thread on the Patsfans message board so that I could bask in long overdue misery of that fanbase. Is that wrong of me to do? Two days later, I can't help but binge on clips of Good Morning Football, Colin Cowherd, Skip Bayless, etc all gushing over the dominant performance put on by Josh Allen and the Bills. Listen, I totally get that there are 2 must-win games left for the Bills and the last thing I want is them losing focus on the Falcons, but they are the team that has to prepare and we are the fans. Is anyone else still just savoring what happened on Sunday?

I think the OP is pretty much spot on with this notion of a rivalry needing to be reciprocal. I live about 20 minutes from Gillette, firmly entrenched in Patriots country. As a lifelong Bills fan, I can tell you it has been a tough stretch. My estimation is that Bills fans talk about the Patriots 100x more than the fans here even think about our team. They've completely written off last year's Cam-led losses as an aberration. Foxsports put up that Bills Fans billboard across from Gillette and I stopped by to take some pictures today while doing some shopping next to the stadium. I actually ran into an ex Patriot in the checkout line and while discussing that billboard he mentioned, "Wow, you guys are strangely obsessed with us". It reminds me of living here in the early 2000's when the Red Sox were still on their 80 year championship drought and were constantly chanting "Yankees Suck!" even at games where the Yankees weren't involved. Meanwhile, my friends from NY/NJ explained that no one in NY gave a damn about the Sox and that it was odd how persistent Red Sox Nation was. Same goes for the old Bills/Dolphins rivalry. We went the entire 70's without beating them once. I was born in 79 and really didn't get into the Bills until the late 80's. By that point we were consistently beating the Dolphins so I never understood the hatred of the Fins. That's because I never had to experience the suffering of the previous decades. Especially over the last 4-5 year where we have particularly owned Miami, it feels harder to get rev'd up for a "division rival"! All of that being said, if the Bills can pull it off this Sunday, take the division, and outlast the Patriots in the playoffs, it will go a long way towards reigniting the reciprocal hate from Pats country.

"Pass velocity and the amount of zip a QB can put on a pass were factors in the ranking, as was the ability to hit the deep ball" Based on this criteria, I find it hard to argue with their rankings. If it were velocity and zip only, measured empirically by radar, I would say Allen all day. When you factor in their body of work connecting on deep balls, even Josh has admitted he has a lot of work to do.

Strangest Bills Jersey You Own

That was the intention. I used the "1" from two Mitchell and Ness Super Bowl XXV Jim Kelly jerseys to make "11". Then I had the custom "NORWOOD" nameplate added. It has the Super Bowl patch and everything. Just a way embrace the suffering and have a sense of humor about things during the depths of the drought era. -

I understand that you'll never be able to "coach up" Levi's athleticism but man, talk about a guy that has continued to dare people to count him out. He WALKS ON to the University of Alabama and ends up as a starter. Then he goes undrafted and fights his way through training camp to make the 53 man roster. Then he claws his way up to CB2 on one of the top defenses in the NFL. He is a solid zone corner who is a student of the game and fits Mcdermott and Frazier's systems perfectly. That being said, we could use some additional speed in the backfield but I'm guessing that will come via the draft.

Tough pill to swallow tonight but what a fun season. I'm trying to stay optimistic that they will be able to fill some glaring holes through free agency and the draft but obviously, cap resources become much more constricted once Allen gets his extension. There have been recent threads suggesting that the performance gap between Allen and Mahomes was becoming fairly narrow and while I love Josh, I still think there is a long ways to go. Do you think the fact that he was significantly outplayed twice this year by Mahomes keeps that number south of the previously suggested $45M mark? Any chance they pump the brakes on the extension and wait until the next offseason?

Correct me if I'm wrong but along with points scored, doesn't this 2020 squad now own the team record for most total yards offense in a season? The 1991 K-Gun posted 6252 yards. This 2020 group had 5888 yards going into today. With another 455 today, the new mark should be 6343. Another team record, right?!

I'm just excited that I'm relevant. -
By traditional measures (ex "passer rating"), Josh Allen still has a long way to go, but he certainly passes the eye test. His athleticism can not be overstated. While we know that we can't lean on him to rush for 100 yards per game indefinitely, the degree of difficulty that it puts on the defense to defend is undeniable. I know that ESPN's proprietary "QBR" metric, which emphasizes clutch stats and downplays "garbage time", is polarizing. It also takes rushing yards into account. I think in Allen's case, it paints a better complete picture of his performance as a quarterback and not just as a passer. According to this assessment, he was the 4th best quarterback this week: http://www.espn.com/nfl/qbr/_/type/player-week Thoughts?

I hope that this doesn't get fixed anytime soon but check out the "early years" section of Kiko's Wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiko_Alonso Pure gold!
