  1. Another season and the same old NFL problem - bad officiating. How do you call that a face mask on the PI call?
  2. Brady is a freak. He looks like a 30 year old out there. As others have noted thank goodness he's out of the division & conference.
  3. Maybe but so far outdoor events have not typically been big covid spreader events. And we'll get a better sense of this over the next week or two given the huge packed crowds we saw in college football stadiums over Labor Day weekend. And they pack those people together like sardines.
  4. I think Jerry is sincere here because he recognizes that at it's core NFL football is the most successful TV program in history. And while Buffalo isn't the lead character or the hot sex pot on the show they are one of the more interesting supporting characters. The Bills are the Pauly Walnuts to the Sopranos or the Festus to Gunsmoke. The NFL TV show would be less interesting if the Bills weren't in Buffalo. It was the same deal with Cleveland.
  5. I wonder if the Bills are testing players to determine if they have naturally derived immunity? Would the union or the players even allow such testing? The reason I'm asking is that natural immunity appears to be very robust, long lasting and effective against the different covid strains. Knowing whether any of their unvaccinated players have natural immunity might allow them to better estimate their susceptibility to testing positive for covid?
  6. I don't know about others but life is full of worries and it's hard enough dealing with bad things that have actually happened. I'm choosing to not worry about whether Beasley or other unvaccinated Bills catch the covid and are unable to play for 2weeks. If it happens it happens, just like an injury.
  7. Don't forget Beasley. He made some key catches in the 1st half. The thing I see with Bease is he reads Allen very well and improvises downfield in such a way that capitalizes on Allen's athleticism.
  8. That was smart move by Sallah not to put Wilson back out there. And IMO it's a nod to the crazy NY city media. Wilson had an outstanding first half and why risk ending it on a sour note?
  9. Fromm is the 4th string QB yet led the game winning drive. He actually didn't look to bad. The Bills have real depth at some positions.
  10. Knox looked smooth to me. I think he's the starter and they're not playing the starters very long.
  11. Sweeney had a great block on Breida's run to the Lions seven yard line. Blew his guy up.
  12. He had great pressure on Boyle for the 1 yard completion. Forced the short throw,
  13. This also shows just how savvy Allen is. Not a bad thing to have in your franchise QB. His easy going nature here reminds me of Rogers without the attitude.
  14. This so true. I would ask Joy to actually look at the Bill's offensive roster that year and get back to us. That they won 6 games and actually moved the ball was a testament to Allen. That was when I realized that we had someone special at QB.
  15. Sullivan had a good point about Austin being part of the Cowboys heartland. Saint Louis maybe? The bills are simply applying a little leverage which is smart for them to do. I'm thinking that it's still 95/5 they're staying in Buffalo for the long haul. If the downstate politicians play hard ball and won't budge on a stadium maybe Western NY could secede from NY State? They're trying to do just that in Eastern Oregon. Maybe join PA? There's a lot of Natural gas & Oil sitting under the ground in Western NY. Tap into that and paying for a new stadium would be lot easier. I know one thing even though I no longer live in Buffalo if the Bills move they and the NFL are dead to me. I can get my football fix from the college game.
  16. Yea and back in the day I used to lead the chants for Gary Marangi to replace Joe Ferguson. Maybe Hodgins will be a great player. Hell I hope he is. But right now Beasley IS a great player and one of the top 3 slot receivers in the game. Now, when the Bills are on the cusp of a Super Bowl is not the time to lose sight of this. Hopefully they can work this out behind closed doors in training camp.
  17. Gilliam is one of a large number of young Bills players who could really take off this season. Without making any big free agent signings this team could be a lot better if the younger players like Singleterry, Moss, Gilliam, Espinosa, Philips, Knox, Sweeny, Ford, Oliver, Davis and others I can't remember make a jump in performance this year. Hell, Allen & Edmends have room to get even better. This reminds of back in the late 80's when we had a lot of young players poised to make the leap - and they did.
  18. I would encourage all the "plug in so & so into the slot and we'll be fine" folks watch any of the Allen highlight reels. Beasley was easily the 2nd best receiver on the team last year and he made a lot of crucial catches at critical points in the game. You just don't walk away from this level of talent and on field savvy because he's a curmudgeon.
  19. I don't think there's anything Palmer can do to keep the RB's from dropping the ball or falling down (Singleterry against KC & Baltimore in the playoffs) or the O-line getting out and throwing a block (the last 2 seasons).
  20. Apples and oranges. How would you have rated Kelly's playoff performances after the 1989 season? He was average to bad in 2 of his 3 playoff games. He only shined in the playoff loss to Cleveland. IMO Allen shined in the Indy game. He was the reason we won that game. The Baltimore game was clearly impacted by the weather conditions and IMO Allen had a decent but not great game against KC. His one INT was a ball that bounced off John Brown's hands and Singleterry dropped what would have been a game changing short pass after the Chiefs cut the Bills lead to 9 - 7. And Allen's game against Houston was not as bad as some say. It was inconsistent but in building a 13 - 0 halftime lead Allen played quite well. As I recall the only reason we didn't go up by 20 or 21 to nothing was poor WR play.
  21. Check out the Bills pass play and LATERAL that happened at about the 5 minute mark! Allen must be studying old Bills game tape. When Allen lateraled the ball in the playoff game against the Texans I defended him because as recently as the late 60's/early 70's that was a common play in the NFL. And it had the potential to make big plays.
  22. The Bills are on the cusp of getting to and winning a Super Bowl. We all can feel it. Losing Beasley at this time would likely keep us from getting over the hump IMO. I would challenge all the plug in and play guys who think McKenzie or Sanders or Davis or Hodges can just step in and play slot the way Beasley does to watch Josh Allen or Bills Offensive highlights from 2020. Beasley made a lot of critical catches at critical moments in a lot of games. If Beasley doesn't play and with the departure of Brown I would worry about taking a hit on WR continuity.
  23. The Bills don't need Allen to take less money, he should and will be paid. What they need is for Allen to agree to a flexible contract that allows the Bills to create CAP room as needed. This is the kind of partnership that will keep the Bills at the top of the league and bring us home a Super Bowl win. And Allen is making it very clear this is exactly what he wants. Seems like a huge win for the Bills.
  24. I have read it multiple times and yes I feel confident that Henderson would have done things very differently then Fauci and company. And with better results to boot.
