When Klein was in he was making more of the downhill LOS tackles. Milano was huge last night. Not questioning Edmund's heart, he played thru injury, just the instincts. It like we have a 6'5" 250lb nickle out there and he covers a lot of field for us, just don't ask him to shed a block, hit a gap, and tackle a player for a loss. Just look at TFL stats. Edmunds, who rarely comes off the field has 3 total this year. Milano, due to injury, missed games, or game plan, only has three games where he took over 80% of the snaps. Rams, Raiders, and NE last night and he has racked up 4. It's a missing aspect of that big kid's game.

Not particularly concerned with the Ravens as I feel they are still a bit one dimensional so the Bills can cheat towards playing the run and containing Lamar. That, and we can score on them. KC is my concern as they have shown they can run on us, and we know they have receiving weapons... that may be more of a defensive challenge. We have been able to cheat a bit with this defense because our offense has been good at taking a strong lead forcing teams out of their run game plans. We don't have that true 1-tech and probably should be a draft priority. We've gotten by platooning our stoutest guys in that role and have had some success, but we do not have that dominant 4-man front that can get by in run defense without strong LB/S play filling the right gaps. It comes down a lot to Edmunds. I don't have any idea why he seems to whiff on so many tackles...it's frustrating and his pathetic attempt at a tackle of grandpa Newton on that TD run torqued me. Edmunds makes enough rodeo tackles - dragging guys down, but I rarely hear the pad pop of a good clean tackle from him...the kind that a player gets when he has taken the right angle and has the right form. Watching Milano coming up field and sinking tackle after tackle last night just drove home that still missing skill/aspect of Edmunds game.

Is Moss the best closer we have had since Thurman?

Singletary has also been pretty awesome picking up the odd free rusher protecting Allen. Both backs seem to be getting well coached in that regard. -
Let it go...just color commentary trying to fill the dead air with exaggeration, hyperbole, or just plain bad information. Duke played hard for us when his number was called. Allen has made an unprecedented leap this year in his accuracy, reading defenses, knowing where all his options are on plays, and results on the field. End of story.

Week 16 Postgame Thread Bills @ Pats*

Oddly it seems to really pick up on whatever side Feliciano is playing guard. Mongo playing on the left side runs to the left find more daylight, they move him to the right and runs to the right start paying dividends. He brings a bit more finish than some of our other guys, but run blocking is a lot about the mentality of playing through to the whistle and what he brings can rub off on other guys on the line. It was certainly satisfying seeing Moss drive in that TD. If they add a real power run threat near the goal line, the Bills go from very difficult to defend in the red zone, to darn near impossible. -

True, I think he was done, but that was just such an odd way to hang up the cleats. At the time all I was thinking sarcastically was, "This helps cement Buffalo as a beacon for FA talent..." -

I guess. You can go out as a player classy or like a pouting B word To each their own... I guess it beats having a guy retire in the middle of a game right? -

In his hay day Newton could unload a deep pass, most of what he did was extend plays with his legs and throw deep, and he could certainly run the ball. I don't see that ability any more; not only that, but successful QB's in today's game have to be able to make quick decisions and deliver the ball all over the field to counter the different defensive looks they will get. I don't think he ever had to develop his game to that level as he had so much success with his raw physical tools - it shows (now that the physical tools are on the decline). Not sure, but I think Allen wandered around after the game looking for Newton for that traditional QB handshake stuff and I don't think either Newton or Stidham showed up....just all around poor losers in Baston. Either way Allen just seemed to shrug it off and celebrated with his teammates. -

Hey not sure if anyone else brought this up but our O-Line played lights out protecting Allen tonight. Just want to recognize the grinders on the team.- 453 replies

Bill and his defenses did help Allen fast-track on having to become a student of reading coverages. School of hard knocks, but for some players those losses help them get stronger. Bill should have just acknowledged what you know he had to have seen on film, a Bills QB who is playing at an MVP level. Weird... he usually talks up opponents before he embarrasses them, I can't recall the last time he dissed on a Bills player. Looks like Allen got the last laugh. -

Beasley seems to be pouting a bit.... rough night for him NE did a good job keeping him hemmed in so a lot of running and not a lot of passes his way. -

Bill will make some adjustments on defense, but I think Daboll has a handle on what he is throwing. Our defense has to keep their edge and not go soft. If Cam is out there, no reason not to bring the pressure. -

Edmunds playing soft like butter again -
Jets fans are not dumb, there is little moral victory or difference between a 0 and 16 season and a 1 and 15 season. Losing a shot at a generational talent like Lawrence was a pyrrhic victory to borrow a term from Jets fans. Another fan likened their season to Andy Dufresne in Shawshank redemption crawling through that long narrow crap pipe to escape from prison only to fall back into prison at the end. They were willing to go winless because with Lawrence and a bevy of draft picks they could attract top notch coaching talent too and rebuild the right way. With that win Darnold and Gase gave the Jets org and its fans a big ol' finger on their divorce plans.

I was wondering how many TDs the Bills have had erased by penalties? I know other QBs, including Mahomes have had TDs erased, but feel like we may lead the league in that category. Of course there are a number of times that Josh has his just gone and thrown or ran in another on the do-over. Still would be an interesting stat
