Monday Night FB Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns, 8:15 PM

It did, and I have not completely ruled out Darnold yet if he can land somewhere where they can leech all the toxic Gase out of his system. -

If all you like is offense. Both teams are doing nothing on D. -

This is like watching a college game with these scores. -

A real defensive struggle, but a lot of scoring is fun to watch. The Browns left too much time on the clock when they gave the ball back to the Ravens...we will see what Baker can do in this clutch situation. -
Week 14 SNF: Bills Whoop Steelers PostGame Thread

He had one game against the Bills where I saw a glimpse of what scouts were seeing that had him in taken in the 1st round. He moved well in the pocket avoiding the rush and buying time, and threw some sweet passes with anticipation that were just on the money and nearly impossible to defend. Since that game it has been all downhill and I just don't think Gase is very good at developing QBs. Getting an established Peyton Manning to work with is not the same as getting a college kid to mold into an NFL starter. I think that Peyton and Gase had a good rapport, but history seems to have shown that it was not a skill to develop rookie QBs. -

Hey if Tanny can revive his career after running away from Gase screaming, there is no reason to believe that Darnold could not do the same if he gets to another team that knows how to develop and use him better. Would not be shocked if he did turn his career around elsewhere. The Jests have also asked him to come back too early from injuries too....I kind of feel bad for the kid, but also think it is still a bit early for the coffin nails on his career. -
This. And having been "that guy" that dares to critique my team before the after glow of a win has died down, I understand the backlash to the "Now" language in the OP. Knox is serviceable, but just because we won does not mean that Knox did not do what Knox has often done - that is, at least one or two key drops and/or a give away (usually the momentum swinging variety leading to opponent scores) while also handing in a few plays that showcase his potential and athleticism that has kept coaches and fans on the treadmill of thinking maybe he will break out and develop into that reliable threat. The Knox giveth and the Knox taketh away Either way, I think that having an elite pass-catching and blocking TE is still a need on this team - Knox has not solidified himself in that role. I do not question Knox's athleticism, his ceiling in that regard is really high, but rather his consistency at being inconsistent.

Perfectly fine if you can jam the guy right out of his cleats like that, BUT if the WR sheds you or makes you miss and you are in man coverage as I believe Tre' was with maybe one safety over top then it is Claypool down the sideline with no one really any where near him for probably an easy highlight TD. White can take that chance because Claypool was not even looking at him till the last minute and Tre must have seen something (maybe watching tape) that Claypool does not have a bunch of moves or a great release against being jammed at the line. That, or Tre' just has some big brass ones and has no problem going all in. Either way, I like that "welcome to the NFL" comment as Tre' did set the tone for the kind of physical game the Bills were going to play.

You guys have a good defense, but once we got a handle on Heyward the writing was on the wall. Still a good defense, but took a lot of risks bringing extra men to get to Allen who is no longer that rookie that crumbles under that kind of pressure. It was good practice for Allen as Belichick likes to bring that 5th or 6th rusher from different areas of the field, or overloading a side of the LOS to get Allen to rush throws as well. It is fine too if fans want to talk about the players that are missing, but the Bills have been a walking triage unit on both sides of the ball all year and are just starting to get some players back healthy again. Every team has injury gaps, but you have to win with the guys you can suit up and play. Ben looks old and slow, and does not look even close to the player he was earlier in the year and the reps throwing with no supporting running game and the predictability of where he is going with the ball is catching up to him and your team. The Steelers are not a finesse team, but that is the kind of offense you guys are trying to run and it is just plain wrong. Ben is not Drew Brees and Pittsburgh is not New Orleans. The Steelers are about winning in the trenches and having good balance with their running game, with Ben able to move and create time and space to have success with off schedule throws and WRs that can make tough yards after the catch. I think your offense has an identity crisis right now, they are just not what I have come to expect from a Tomlin coached team on the offensive side of the ball. -

The only way Pittsburgh scored on that play was by Washington executing a really blatant pick on Neal in the slot. I am not sure if Tre was supposed to stay in man, but he and Neal both stayed on their man and ended up getting picked. Would think that how they play crossing routes out of 2 receiver, bunch, or stack alignments may have been a miscommunication by Neal with Tre just by the fact that he doesn't get the same amount of reps as White. Either way it was a designed pick and I think when a pick is executed that clumsily it normally draws an offensive pass interference flag. The play is on the NFL site and the video goes on to diagnose and highlight how they were picked on the play with Tre watching the replay on the jumbotron. Kind of an odd thing to highlight when your org is responsible for calling that infraction. NE lived off those 5-10 yard rub plays for years and they were pretty blatant about them too. The Bills created some crossing routes in man coverage early in the year when teams were foolish enough to play a lot of Cover 0 or 1 on us that resulted in rubs, but those were more subtle efforts to cause defenders to take a wide path to create space and poor leverage against our WRs rather than our receiver stepping in front, making contact with a defender, and obstructing his path. Beasley has been handed a PI on much milder efforts out of the bunch formation. I stress that all in all, I liked that they mostly kept the yellow hankies in check there was a weak interior line holding call that negated a 20 or so yard run by Allen, but they also called a pretty weak roughing the passer call on the Steelers too. -

Sure they could have thrown it, maybe moved the chains and maybe had some incompletes that stopped the clock... But running it when the opposing team knows you are running it, running out the clock, breaking their will, and pointing them to the loser's locker room, THAT is a mindset of how you want to close a game where you have the late lead. A mindset of deciding to close the door on 4 quarters of football with an exclamation point rather than desperately clinging to an unsure victory by your finger tips. It is what good teams can do when they start having confidence and believe they belong in that conversation with the best in the league. That was a mental turning point last night I hope they can keep building upon. Enjoy the victory Monday Bills, then back to work with what got you there - humble and hungry. -
Did D. Williams Make a LOT of $ Tonight?

It is games like that where players do make bank. Watt had to resort to acting to draw a foul too...that is a dominating performance. He earned a lot of respect last night. -

Me too, just run out that clock and suck any chance of a moral victory away from the other team. Good hard running over that time and a great naked bootleg by Allen for a fresh set of downs. Allen looked like a little kid having fun on that slide too, as he slid for about 10 yards and seemed to enjoy it. -

That naked bootleg by Allen to pick up another set of downs was like a final dagger in any slim ideas that the Steelers had of getting back into the game for even a garbage score. Was an awesome call by Daboll, Josh also shows that he still has wheels if he wanted to run it more. -

I have no words... just a very complete game. A lot of game balls Ike, Williams, and Dawkins did a really good job and once the interior decided to double their nose we opened things up. Josh got a beating tonight and just gritted his teeth and did not let it shake him. Diggs was fantastic, and Davis worked through his struggles. Some great timely runs by Singletary and Moss... list goes on. -

Classic Wallace. Plays like crap for a bunch of games and we get the pitchforks and torches out and then he starts playing again. He is playing hard tonight and I assume it was a rough week in the film room. -
