Was worried there when they backed off and went back into their zone. Luckily their QB was waaay off. -

Johnson did a TFL.... I love those and have missed those on this defense. -
AJ Klein: Tremaine Edmunds "a True Mike"
WideNine replied to Thurman#1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't think we need to rush to judgement on why folks felt that Edmunds was struggling at Mike - as the article said, The highest single-game grade he registered in his first 7 games was a 55.5. He has improved over his last few games and I think we all hope that trend continues. -
Trump's Legal Machine Grinds to a Halt

Federal judge in GA dismisses lawsuits brought by Powell - because they are dumb A federal judge in Georgia dismissed two motions on Monday morning brought by attorney Sidney Powell aimed at reversing the election results in that state. “The plaintiffs do not have standing to bring these claims,” Judge Timothy Batten ruled from the bench immediately following about an hour of arguments. Judge Batten also dissolved the temporary restraining order that stopped election officials from clearing the latest election data from Dominion voting machines in Cobb, Gwinnett and Cherokee Counties. Election officials in Georgia have said the machines will be needed for early voting that starts in the Senate runoff election in a week. Batten further said that the plaintiffs waited too long to take such action. “This suit could have been brought months ago before the election, at the time the machines were adopted. The relief they seek, this court cannot grant.” Finally, Batten called the relief Powell was seeking “the most extraordinary relief ever sought in any federal court,” as it pertains to elections. “They want to substitute the judgement of this court for that of two and a half million Georgia voters who voted for Joe Biden. This I am unwilling to do.” -
I was just commenting how the Republicans use the same catchphrase everytime AFTER someone tests positive at one of their super-spreader events. The Arizona Legislature will close for a week "out of an abundance of caution" after Rudy Giuliani, President Donald Trump's personal attorney, possibly exposed several Republican lawmakers to COVID-19. Just wondering where all that caution was before they all got together maskless to sit in close proximity and shake hands and such. Then traveled or went home to family and friends over the Holiday. This is like the abundance of caution of using a condom after you knock that crazy girl up or get an STD. Caution is supposed to proceed and mitigate the avoidable risk.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
WideNine replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yep, that is because the AOC and Bernie crowd are just as out of touch and drove away moderates in the burbs. Policies and actions stand on their own merits. Just because there is a large amount of stupid people embracing a policy doesn't make it the smart move. For example, if Trump told people to smack themselves in the head with a hammer and 4,000,000 stupid people did just that would it elevate that act to something intelligent? No. -

So Giuliani, his traveling circus, and the rest of the maskless GOP idiots all gathered together in AZ and Rudy contracts Covid. Now the GOP closes their legislative sessions "out of an abundance of caution". Yeah, NOW that you, your family, and friends have all been exposed, you exercise an abundance of caution - morons. The flat earth Repubtard party are literally lemmings running off a cliff along with Covid Don the con. -
That would be an interesting read right? I hereby pardon myself for tax fraud, and for money laundering, for obstruction....all the things I claim I have not done. It will be a pretty bizarre few weeks leading up to his exit. If history is any predictor Trump supporters just don't care if he breaks the law.

Supreme Court backs religious freedom over restrictions!
WideNine replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
This is the messy nature of democracies, when are personal liberties allowed to be curtailed and how? There is a concept of greater good and I think that is reflected in laws around speed limits and seat belts and such. Seems silly that we can use religion as a shield against what is widely adopted as a restriction that is good for the health and safety of the broader population. One does not have the right to knowingly trample the rights of others by putting them at risk of harm IMO. China is able to flatten the curve quickly and they have billions of people. They do this because they are not a democracy and they will shoot or imprison you if you disobey a quarantine order. We are not China, democracy is messy because it often relies on people doing the right thing and the smart thing and thinking about how they can help others and be a good citizen of our country. Unfortunately, we lack a lot of those qualities of sober, intelligent, and unselfish action that promotes self-policing and self-control for a shared goal of greater good - especially of late. Re: secularism, I do not think the separation of church and state should be viewed as excising religion from individuals or public display, so I object when those that openly express their faith (I consider humanism and atheism belief systems too) suffer retribution as if they should only be able to practice their beliefs in some kind of basement or in isolation from the public eye. Suppression is not what I believe the intent was of secularism and separation of church and state. The intent was to insulate the laws of our land from religious favoritism and prejudice. That being said I do not think the intent was to allow religions to put other citizens in harm's way. It is an interesting rendering by the Supreme Court. I think Secularism is the tolerant lifeline that humanity needs to adapt to survive and accommodate the plurality of beliefs that individuals may embrace. An example of what happens when secularism is not embraced can be seen with Muslim nations where the concept of theocracies is the norm, where integrating Sharia courts into their constitutions and the laws of the land is the norm. We can watch the net effect of this play out in real time where Turkey was on a stable trajectory under Ataturk's secular reforms only to lose it all under Erdogen and the AKP. As any can see there is inevitably a restriction in personal liberties and other religions and those that practice them are systemically disenfranchised. -
First, I firmly believe that Trump knows that he, his Trump Org, and family members regularly break the law. He also views the law as something that is a mutable thing if one can apply enough legal and/or political pressure to deal with it. I am not sure he is too far off the mark on that assessment. As he immediately looked into his pardoning power with his oath of office still fresh on his lips, I am sure discussions around the limits or areas where precedent could be challenged or created happened. I was looking and as early as February 2016 there were discussions about Trump's ability to preemptively pardon himself and his family members. Why would Hannity and others float that idea if they did not know behind all their blathering about innocence and witch hunt that America just elected a career criminal and his clan into office. Of course there has already been an effort to float this idea of absolute immunity before the courts with the infamous Trump I could shoot someone on 5th avenue and get away with it comments. https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4824386/lawyer-argues-president-trump-prosecuted-office-shoots

There's the rub with pardoning his family. As he and all his family are a part of the shady Trump Org, there would be a precedent of pardoning yourself and presidential proxies of potential crimes. That would be a bad precedent as future presidents could simply direct others to do their criminal business and benefit from those illegal actions while assuring and encouraging those directly responsible for carrying out the deeds that he can pardon them preemptively.

Makes you wonder why an innocent person would ever need this. https://www.npr.org/2020/12/02/941290291/talk-of-preemptive-pardons-by-trump-raises-questions-what-can-he-do

Supreme Court backs religious freedom over restrictions!
WideNine replied to JaCrispy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Excellent post. I would add too that several cities impose health restrictions that curb individual liberties for the good of their fellow citizens. I do not see much fundamental difference from mask-wearing and distancing mandates to the existing city, county, or state-wide indoor smoking bans because of the health risk of 2nd hand smoke which takes a more round about means and years to manifest health risks. I would argue that if those folks want to exercise the freedom to create super spreader events their religious leaders should do the responsible thing and log attendance with local contact tracers in advance. The really responsible and caring thing to do for your "flock" would be to limit gatherings in person use remote video tech and encourage their safety and others around them. It does beg the question of where does the state of emergency powers extend for a jurisdiction? Perhaps not to prevent religious gatherings, but to enforce quarantines of those not following pandemic response guidance... -
I am not sure who Allen is looking at sometimes with those read option plays - I rarely see him pitch the ball to his running back even when it is clear that the defense is focused on him and his running back has a better lane. He will often keep that ball and dive head-first into the scrum. This is an area of self-scouting that Allen is going to need to address. I do think it is a bit of the hero ball mentality, but also the fact that play makers want the ball in their hands, the puck on their stick, to be up to bat with the bases loaded and the game on the line. He is just going to have to mature and balance that attitude with the fact that there are 10 other guys out there that can help him move the ball. I do think we executed some QB draws that worked really well and the screens have been mostly hit and less miss, and when they hit they go for a lot of yards. Definitely cooled their jets a bit on the pass rush.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
WideNine replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Dude, you could ditch the victim complex. You were not clear with your OP in regards to why you dumped your factoid regarding testing. Then over the course of several responses you both lectured folks for assuming the point you failed to make while gradually honing in on what it actually was. You weren't clear and folks filled in the blanks. That is all, no lecturing or moralizing required. -

Honestly had flashbacks of that drunken bar fly you would occasionally run across and struggle to get away from and you would end up looking for her friends so you can convince them to drag her home. I love the way the lady next to him kind of jumps in surprise when he just rips one. Giuliani...he just keeps rolling along on his crazy train no ***** to give. -
