  1. Yeah, I was trying to not be too negative. But Bass could probably hit it.
  2. About what I expected to happen. Barkley does not have that zip or placement and the Dolphins secondary does have talent. About the same as a punt there.
  3. Norman is not playing a bad game. He has drawn some tough assignments.
  4. Norman needed that. Those weakly thrown outside passes deep in his own zone are dangerous... Inevitable that we were going to jump one of those routes or capitalize on a mistake.
  5. That was a weak flag to affect change of possession and setup 1st and goal on the 1. You can't play the slant route much differently.
  6. I never rule out the Steelers when playing their backups.....history shows they usually have the game plan and enough play-makers to win.
  7. Are these guys just that good? Allen is playing NFL MVP level. Period.
  8. Barkley's passes look like I am watching time-lapse video compared to Allen. Was a stark reminder of the drop off when watching last week.
  9. Edmunds taking better angles. Wrapping and driving with his legs. Much better aggressive tackling. Good to see.
  10. Dinking and dunking mainly. Looks like the kind of single-read offense Gailey would put together for a rookie QB to simplify the playbook. Way early to write-off Tua, but regarding that 2019 class, he is no where near Herbert's league reading coverage's, going through receiver progressions, and delivering to different spots on the field. Miami is averaging about 30 rush attempts per game the past 3 games. With no Fitz on the bench to fall back to, I would expect a game plan from them to keep Tua clean and the Bills offense off the field, so expect Miami to run, and run, and run some more.
  11. I watched that Raiders game with the fish and was not impressed. You stop Myles Gaskin and Gesicki and that was most of their offense. Tua stares down receivers, holds the ball too long, and lacks pocket presence. The Fish were bad picking up short yardage too. Their defense did well, but the Raiders were 0 for 9 on 3rd down conversions at one point and they had the ball in the red zone multiple times and only managed field goals. Carr looked like a statue. I don't see us not punching in those opportunities in the red zone. Normally, I would say we would roll these guys, but it all depends who we suit up to play.
  12. Honestly felt the same way, but thought that tid-bit from Allen about his wind-down music interesting. Lord knows I have re-read every Bills/Allen article and post a half a dozen times over since the buzz of the NE game...even cruised the other AFC team fan sites to gloat a bit too. I thought this might be a good diversion till the next game and bonus - we might learn something about other folks here along the way.
  13. We all know that Allen idles at around 3000 rpm and used to start games way too amped. Normally, one would hear on a field or in a locker room a lot of modern epic motivational/rap music when athletes are getting ready to play, but Allen says that for him to calm down enough he likes to listen to Sinatra, Elvis, Etc.. to chill out before games. So.....what songs would you guys suggest he listen too? ( Maybe try to keep it to 2-3 tops) I will get this ball rolling adding some of my own twist, but I am curious what you folks will suggest as "chill out" Allen music. 1. Sinatra - Pennies from Heaven (thinking dimes falling from Allen) 2. Joshua James - Coal War "Sons of Anarchy"
  14. I liked what I saw from the kid too, really good instincts and the game did not look too big for him. They did have him nursing that broken wrist, but the timeline for coming back from that injury seems to have passed. They seem to use him to fill that depth role when Josh Norman is not available and right now, Norman is available. Frazier may simply be looking to go with more experienced depth in the more critical late-season games. It would have been nice to see him suit up for this game if they go out and rest a lot of our starters at some point. Would like to see more of what we have in him.
  15. A bit early to know what that game would look like. I have less faith in our defense consistently stopping the run than I do in Allen and the offense being able to score and pressure those teams better in a rematch. If folks recall the Titans were the first team to really slow down our offense that started getting red-hot. They threw away the cover-0 pressure packages prior teams were using and Allen and Daboll were feasting off of and went 4-man rush (a few 5) and 2-3 deep zone looks. Allen pressed, did not know where to go with the ball, and had one of his lower QBR outings. In a copy-cat league Allen was force-fed zone defenses of every variety every game after that and he also saw zone/man with robber concepts against the Cards. What did he do? He got better. He recognizes the zone looks, where the soft spots are, and he and Daboll have been putting on a clinic since. I don't see teams that had success against him AND our defense (KC and Titans), having the same success against our offense in a rematch.
  16. No need for exaggeration when we are looking at match ups. The thread was looking at teams that would cause us issues and our biggest defensive issue is rush defense. This is just a known thing. We are 28th overall for the year in yards/attempt. That ain't great, and just because we win because we can leap out in front of teams and they have to pretty much give up on running the ball, does not mean that the defensive gap is not there. As you point out, teams really can't run all over us unless they can: Consistently run. Run in spurts on us is one thing, consistently churn out first downs running on us is a taller order. Keep pace with or slow down Allen and our offence. KC did it, and the Titans to a degree as they also had a lot of success attacking with passes across the middle where we were hurting at LB. That is the only reason why I singled out those two AFC teams as (IMO) the toughest opponents matchup-wise for this team. I still like our odds, but they present the biggest challenges.
  17. NE has done that a few times this year, they show 10 at the line just to confuse the punt protection schemes and 2 fall back to cover the gunners at the snap. The Bills just quick snapped it and threw the pass. They saw it on film, and saw an opportunity to make a play there. It worked. For being a young ST coach our boy is getting it done and McD has confidence in him.
  18. ...perhaps they do that to make sure no one in the audience is confused and thinking the Bills were throwing to an eligible tackle😁 Lee has got to be happy that he is a serious red-zone threat...doesn't even have to block down there for a few games. If he releases, he is going to take a guy or two with him....hmmm maybe another red-zone wrinkle Daboll is cooking up.
  19. Kind've always has been - it is voted on my 50 AP Media folks selected each year. Not always about the numbers, often about the narrative that goes with it. Rogers has that narrative and the numbers considering they drafted his replacement this year and there was not a lot of thought of Rogers having a year like he has. I think Allen has a great narrative too so who knows... All Allen and the Bills need to do is focus on the best way to beat the next opponent, let all that media-darling stuff sort itself out.
  20. When Klein was in he was making more of the downhill LOS tackles. Milano was huge last night. Not questioning Edmund's heart, he played thru injury, just the instincts. It like we have a 6'5" 250lb nickle out there and he covers a lot of field for us, just don't ask him to shed a block, hit a gap, and tackle a player for a loss. Just look at TFL stats. Edmunds, who rarely comes off the field has 3 total this year. Milano, due to injury, missed games, or game plan, only has three games where he took over 80% of the snaps. Rams, Raiders, and NE last night and he has racked up 4. It's a missing aspect of that big kid's game.
  21. Not particularly concerned with the Ravens as I feel they are still a bit one dimensional so the Bills can cheat towards playing the run and containing Lamar. That, and we can score on them. KC is my concern as they have shown they can run on us, and we know they have receiving weapons... that may be more of a defensive challenge. We have been able to cheat a bit with this defense because our offense has been good at taking a strong lead forcing teams out of their run game plans. We don't have that true 1-tech and probably should be a draft priority. We've gotten by platooning our stoutest guys in that role and have had some success, but we do not have that dominant 4-man front that can get by in run defense without strong LB/S play filling the right gaps. It comes down a lot to Edmunds. I don't have any idea why he seems to whiff on so many tackles...it's frustrating and his pathetic attempt at a tackle of grandpa Newton on that TD run torqued me. Edmunds makes enough rodeo tackles - dragging guys down, but I rarely hear the pad pop of a good clean tackle from him...the kind that a player gets when he has taken the right angle and has the right form. Watching Milano coming up field and sinking tackle after tackle last night just drove home that still missing skill/aspect of Edmunds game.
  22. Singletary has also been pretty awesome picking up the odd free rusher protecting Allen. Both backs seem to be getting well coached in that regard.
