Um. All night? They had a fumble out the EZ after ripping 30 yards on the ground following the ridiculous fake punt, then followed that up with a 5 play/8 yard drive after we went 3 and out… I honestly believe if Bass ties the game they force the issue and make errors. No score. And if we scored a TD that drive I think the defensive pass rush might have finally got home seeing as they’d need a TD to avoid the season being over.

Lamar Josh CMC Purdy Dak Who knows. Josh may end up winning it. Splitting hairs between him and Lamar… Turnovers are the only knock seeing as people won’t factor in total TD to turnover ratio.
-
Can’t believe we are critiquing Josh for a fingertip miss TD throw when he’s got his LT pushed into his chest… Josh has made that throw several times. If he hasn’t got the arm strength to send that there then sure… flame away. He has. If he makes it there isn’t a single person saying “man wtf is Josh doing… he should have hit Diggs”. Absolutely bonkers.
-
Absolutely right IMO. That throw was on a rope if he’s not knocked backward. We’ve seen him make that throw countless times… none better than the one against Denver a few years back when he connected with Kumerow. That throw to Diggs is the one people should be focusing on. Would have put us at the 25 with around 8 minutes left. Not a lot of clock would have been used after that drive and barring KC milking at worst 6 minutes of the clock, we’d still have something to work with. Furthermore, let’s say we settled for a FG and missed there also the game wouldn’t have been over with one new set of downs. That weird TO on our first drive after the half was huge. Especially because we had a delay of game after an incompletion. I know we scored a touchdown so it becomes a little less of an issue but it certainly didn’t help at the end of the game there. That TO coupled with the incompletion to Diggs are bigger causes for us losing. Can’t hang anything on Josh. The passing number weren’t gaudy but he did everything right and played a pretty flawless game. Guys just didn’t execute for him. Concerning when one of them is our second highest paid guy on offense… and boy did he have a few that night.

Seeing as it’s “Top 10” might as well rank it for this season… 1. Mahomes 2. Josh 3. Burrow 4. Lamar 5. Stroud 6. Tua 7. Purdy 8. Dak 9. Love 10. Goff Bit high for Burrow seeing as he hardly played but that team is undeniably better when he’s on the field. Maybe on a revision he’s slid all the way to #10 with the others bumped up one spot.

Posted a while back about a conversation I heard on the radio thee final week of the regular season before Bill not coming back was official… They were talking about Atlanta. I think give the assists they have and an owner who’s willing to spend makes that a great destination. There’s pieces there if they can hit on a QB… Division isn’t that great so you’ve got a chance every year even with a team in rebuild.

Bill is an awesome coach and I can respect what he’s managed to achieve during his tenure with the Patriots. However, I don’t know how I’d feel if we hired him. Would be a sour taste if we hired him and never ended up winning a SB under his guidance.

Those Mahomes and Brees stats are wild for only playing 6 and 8 more games than Josh. For some reason I thought he would have more passing yards than 2700. I guess it’s balanced out by the rushing yards… Yeah, Pat isn’t that far behind him. Would never have anyone other than Josh until he retires but I get why people are so enamored and infatuated with Mahomes being the best. Stats and accolades give legitimate cause. Don’t believe the rest would have made that much difference. We had our bye-week @ 13… Only 2 teams had anything later; Cardinals & Redskins. I’d argue that having home field given the travel reduction is a bigger advantage than a week of rest… Thats just me though. 🤷♂️

The 2nd & 9 wasn’t the problem. That was actually the right pass of Jones doesn’t push Dawkins back into Josh’s lap. That throw is no different than the shot downfield to Diggs who came up empty after it went through both hands… The 3rd down after was an issue though… checking it down immediately instead of rushing out of the pocket and rolling to the side everyone flooded to is rough. Looking back on it, even though in the moment it would be hard to see, Josh should have stepped up in the pocket and bailed left instead of what he ended up doing… Either way, Josh put us in a position to take a lead, tie or win the game several times. Collective miscues from the team as a whole let us finish the season Sunday.

Well at least that’s another stepping stone to competitiveness in that division… -

I had concern for the guy the minute he missed the kick… Its not all fans but some can be diabolically ruthless with their words and actions when you’re part of the situation causing them the most stress… Hope he bounces back and people choose to rally behind and support him than choose to insult, threat or demoralize a guy who no one came feel worse for what’s happened -
100%. That should have been the tie that severed but they were willing to have another go… and then run it back… Now we are where we are. I just feel he’ll be back next year. That doesn’t mean it’s what I would want or like for the team but it’s something I can accept and understand their choice of doing so.

Would I rather move on? Yes. Rebuilding a coaching landscape here would be the best option. But there are certainly reasons and circumstances that mitigate him for a return… I don’t know, given where we were at mid season, ended up the #2 and how he had guys playing well who were in and out of the lineup I give him some for. Giving him one more year is due to the fact of what he’s done; completely turned a club around that is now consistently in the playoffs we just haven’t got it done. If history repeats itself then you part ways.

Can We End This Nonsense About Homefield Advantage Now?
BBFL replied to K D's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just because we lost doesn’t mean there isn’t such a thing lol Most teams each season are better @ home than @ opponent. I’d say that alone warrants it -
Thanks for sharing this, condolences and comforts to all affected. Will donate ASAP.

There’s an issue there, we just don’t know what. The drop off in his production was the same last year, not as bad but present, until the finals third of the year… Maybe we treat the WRs like the DLine and rotate?
-
One play that cracked me up was a pass to Rice I believe… Taron passed him off to Klein, Klein didn’t realize and Taron was still the one who ended up tracking him down. As for Dorian, agreed. Would have been better. But he also had that lunatic play where he looked to his right, so the WR running towards him but instead of looking back at Mahomes and play the direction the WR was running, he decided hip check him for DPI on a 3rd down 😂
-
107-1183-8 is production for a guy who’s done? Come on brother… 😂 I’ll give you “done” in terms of the mental aspect in believing he can win it here… I can’t give you “done” at the position after that stat line on a season… Whatever works for you I guess? By that standard we better start looking at options to replace Diggs, Davis, Harty, Sherfield and Knox who can compliment Josh with Cook/2Pac/King Cade.
-
Dude… all… night… long… How TF you don’t just play the one guy who’s shown man coverage ability in Elam to cover Kelce the entire game. Taron is capable but someone had to cover Rice and he doesn’t have the length for that matchup. It was a feel-good story for Pittsburgh but the fact they relied on him for 49 of the 50 defensive snaps is mind boggling for a guy in the situation you stated. 🤯
-
I’m with you bro, he’s been a let down. I’ve questioned his play several times this season… However… That, at least to me, doesn't mean he’s done. After another disappointing end to the season, he might be done with Buffalo subconsciously. Make no mistake though, he can still play. Maybe we all hope with less talk.
-
Don’t know about that, they were running right up the middle towards the end there. Didn’t see much push at all the whole game. If you had Bernard and Benford back there, that play would have gotten by. They needed to show up given the circumstances…
-
I’m with you 100%. The salaries for Von and Tre are hurting us more than benefiting. They’re 2 massive deals. Diggs is no way done. He just seems to be a fire that’s burning from a smaller ember the more we end up missing out on the big dance. Knox is tricky. I like the guy and this he can be a serviceable TE just not at that salary. Maybe trade him with a team who’s in the market?
