Troy never told me about this during the “Head & Shoulders” gig. or “Head, shoulders, knees and toes”

My enthusiasm for interest of the sport goes after we are knocked out of it. Doesn’t mean I’m not interested, just I won’t be rooting for any team. Especially the ones we can’t seem to beat. Ravens should win that game if Chiefs struggled with a suspect defense missing key components in its coverage game. Ravens are healthy. Think their run game and Isaiah Likely are too much of a problem this weekend. Ravens/Lions SB.

If you’re willing to run Damar Hamlin on 4th down 30 yards from the opposing EZ then why are you not willing to go for it on 4th down instead of a missed FG? That’s the logic I’m guessing? I understand and can agree with it. But I don’t think they played for 3… They didn’t convert the set of downs, had 2 TOs, down 3 and may end up getting a quick 3 and out by KC if they play it well enough… Thats exactly what KC would have tried to do. There was a reason Reid called a TO. Factor in the way the defense had played after that touchback fumble, taking the 3 is the right call. Especially as a failed conversion ends up the same as the missed FG… A guaranteed win for KC.

Well a 7 man rotation wasn’t getting it done. I say we split it down the middle and got for 10. 14 man rotation would be too unfair.
-
Yeah but the point is they needed to be great. There’s excuses for the CBs and LBs. they have been in and out of the lineup due to necessity. Not rotation. You’re down to some absolute scraps in a monumental game everywhere on the defense except the line… They should have stepped up. They’ve made plays all year but disappear in back to back games. Secondary and LBs stepped up against Pitt… they could have returned the favor and done more than, like you said, ok…

Better take Josh to Neverland with you my friend. We need him to never age. -

I don’t think it’ll take that for them to move on from McD. One more season and if it isn’t going as planned or there’s another early exit from the post-season then you close the chapter of that book. No way should it rest on the shoulders of a player. That’s not Josh’s job, nor should it ever be, to call for the head of any coach. Especially as the leader. You have him involved in the input if they move on. Not the reason you are. -
Like Josh said in the after game presser: ”it’s a team loss” Bass’s miss causes us to in actuality, lose the game. He’s just one of the reasons. Hope his life ain’t wrecked. Also in agreement with other posters that the contract he was signed to was to make the kicks in clutch time. Don’t know what’s happened to him… This set of events won’t help his confidence. Time to move on.

OK??? The get all the heat from defensive failings last night man. With Bernard out the options behind them were Klein and Dodson. Both absolutely limited guys in coverage. They needed to be great. They weren’t. They were exactly like you said, OK. Absolutely criminal none of those guys (Floyd, Oliver, Groot, AJE, Von, Lawson, Jones, Settle, Linval) they choose to use in a rotation to keep fresh made a play. 9 of them did “ok”. That’s a problem for that much investment. Secondary didn’t play bad and neither did Dodson or Klein individually. The problem is that is not a pairing you can ask to defend a motion and level type offense.

McD says it was an “Element of surprise”… Thats about right. Surprised that someone would be that moronic to give the ball to Hamlin. Posted in another thread but the only reason you run that play is for Damar to continue the shred of a chance he has to win Comeback Player of the Year

Gregory “No Show” Rousseau

If that’s the case then we never deserve to beat them in the Playoffs. 😂

Good riddance? I don’t know man. I’ll always be grateful for his show in the 13 seconds game… 2Pac and King Cade are the future… No problem moving on from Gabe but have some respect for the production he contributed lol

2020s Buffalo Bills are The Miami Dolphins of the 90s

Such a weird f—-in’ play. They were trying to get Damar his Comeback Player of the Year award… there is nothing else to it for that choice of play… -

And that’s all it takes… could have been called “The bounce to the Super Bowl” No different than a wide right in terms of one game defining play. Just as pivotal as the second wide right to crush a SB dream. It stopped KC going up 10. We had 2 chances after that to score; tie and win the game. Should be coming away with at least 6 points on 2 drives. You can’t see that bounce being luck we wasted, then cool. -
These “Trade our best players” threads are ridiculous. Nail an offense minded draft, pick up some guys for the secondary in FA; CJGJ, Jordan Whitehead, Kenny Moore, Kendall Fuller? Trade for Budda Baker? Theres a lot of options in the secondary which is where we hurt. Having Milano and Bernard out is a killer. Evaluate the safety position. Decide if you’re keeping White. If not, sign a corner who you believe can hold his own in man and zone. Go after Wagner again. I think he retires, if not he’ll be willing to play elsewhere with Pete out as HC. Have a trio of Milano, Bernard, Wagner. Be able to flex in and out of nickel more effectively… Not that we do anyway. Benford, Elam and Douglas are the only CBs here who’ve seen starting time. Safety? That’s tough. Either way we need to go all in at one side of the ball for each acquisition pool… I say go for offense as much as possible in the draft. Use FA for the defensive side as the quality of talent available is better for that side of the ball… Team could be extremely different next year.

The ball bouncing out the EZ instead of the sideline isn’t luck? Dude. Again. After the epic choice of running with Damar Hamlin instead of Josh on 4th down deserved us to lose the game. Poyer made a great play but the luck came with where the ball bounced. If you don’t believe so then you’ve never played contact football enough to be on the wrong end of a bounce. -

That Chiefs offense isn’t as bad as you’re making out. They’ve actually finally come together. Rashee Rice, Kelce and Pacheco isn’t a bad trio behind Mahomes. Diggs, DK2, Shakir and Cook are what Allen has to work with. Imagine if they still had Hill… Should have beaten that team. Their defense played well enough to put us into tough positions we were barely unable to execute. Defense was where it hurt. Bernard being out was rough. KC make a living on that underneath/middle of the field stuff. How Elam played 0 snaps is wild. Especially when Klein is for 98% @ 49. Dorian Williams only played 6 snaps of defense but seemed to be doing something when he was… Poyer’s FF to go back out the EZ for a touchback wasnt luck…? Stopped the game potentially getting out of hand. KC would have been up 34-24. We did nothing with our next 2 possessions… missed a FG. That should, for how critical a game, be 6 points for the end of both of those drives. Didn’t execute man. That loss is solely on the team as a whole. After that moronic 4th down run by Hamlin, we deserved to lose. Like people said in the GDT, you keep the ball in Allen’s hands. -
If Tomlin is on the outs maybe Mike can do a William & Mary brother a favor and consider a trade for TJ Watt or George Pickens 🤔
-
that’s absolutely valid and becomes more concerning when you’ve plowed an insane amount of resources into building a DLine that can rotate and still be productive… until it isn’t… in the playoffs.. That might be my biggest and only gripe with McD outside the idiotic and catastrophically rough game management. He’s built a good team and can definitely coach a unit to play above their skill sets/capabilities in terms of the secondary.

McDermott will scapegoat himself using injuries as an excuse
BBFL replied to BeastMaster's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree. Too many drives doing what the opposing team wanted us to. Absolutely need to get a deep threat who can win balls. Still can’t believe some of those drops by Diggs man… That caliber of player should be coming away with most of them. They weren’t otherworldly catches to be made… Once you box Allen into an underneath passer you’re making his supporting cast win the game, and they never have. Why give the guy a chance to go 25-30+ yards downfield where to cover, you have to have your back to the play. Once you do, game over. He’s picking up the first. Need to get Allen someone legit if we can, options are tough for a FA. Mike Evans might be the only option for what is needed… Looks like drafting someone so we can run a complete offense is what’s needed. Also wonder if he goes back to the DLine for our first couple of picks given the complete no show they’ve been with Pitt and KC… I don’t think anyone is making excuses. They know what they get with McD. Personally, I give him one more season. He did an exceptional job of turning this season into the #2 seed and still could have/should have won it. He gets a final year. If you can’t get to the AFCC and be in it during the final seconds at worst, then it’s time to move on. He has earned that parting gift. -
McDermott will scapegoat himself using injuries as an excuse
BBFL replied to BeastMaster's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah but that isn’t the actual issue. The actual issue comes down to scheme and adjustments. Spags over there completely shut us down. The only way you can’t shut down this team is when Josh is able to get the deep ball connecting. It’s a stretch that teams go to where they play a shell with everything in front and then collapse on it. If Sherfield or Diggs come down with any of those 4 deep shots that turned into drops/incompletions, I honestly think we win the game. KC are forced into a TD position again. -
