Bills a rumored suitor for Kareem Hunt trade
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hear, hear. Precisely my thought on this too--I'm not saying these guys have to be perfect in order to be "rootable," but for the love of pete, not putting your hands (or feet) on a woman the way this dude did, shouldn't be too high a bar to keep. -
Jordan Poyer admits to being an alcoholic

Good for him and his loved ones—IDK who you are, any sustained victory over addiction deserves to be applauded! Same goes for any of us here with similar victories that don’t get as much publicity but are no less important. -
So happy for them, I know it’s been tough on them over the past couple years, this is awesome 👏🏻!

What’s your earliest memory of the Buffalo Bills?
NoHuddleKelly12 replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I didn’t grow up in a sports-following family, but in 1989, the East Brady Pa “Home of Jim Kelly” huge sign left quite an impression on 10 yr old me while we drove past on a random early Summer day and it’s been all Buffalo ever since lol... -
Huh?? This goes to the essence of fandom! Love your team, hate the rest, or am I missing something? You can respect the accomplishments of the opposition while at the same time not liking them. I bleed Bills all day every day, if that makes me a loser, well, at least I may have some company around here.

IIRC, Jim K got that much in his record breaking deal when he finally inked for Buffalo in '86. -

Both of which are also more appealing bridge options than washed out Cam, imho. -

Fair enough. But have to ask who else out there would've offered Cam this deal? They really had to exponentially increase his base from a prove-it K when his prove-it year was more of a has-been revelation? Don't get me wrong--any dime NE overspends on whoever they want is fine by me. -

That's a lot of dough for a backup, even one who could in theory mentor a new young gun. -

No more hometown discounts to stay in NE & play for the Hoodie? -
Patriots trading for Trent Brown

If only his staff would get out of the way of his “geniusness” -
Personally I don’t love the implication that Josh could’ve/should’ve spoken out on this (who’s to say whether or not Josh even knew before Brown). That’s unfair extra pressure on Josh with no upside, imho. At the end of the day no matter how good Josh is or gets to be, one has to only take a glance at Rodgers’ situation in GB to know that a FO gets to do what it wants when it wants as to the roster, franchise QB thoughts be durned.

@Ridgewaycynic2013is officially always right on this topic. That is all. -
The Bills always beat each of those teams either in the same season or the very next one, so we know it was certainly always possible to have won in the SB as well; the Bills’ overall record against the NFC during this run was actually quite good IIRC. Not coincidentally, if you watch the games back, other than the Washington SB, the Bills had opportunities galore to take control of any of the other 3 games, and let those chances just slip away. The 52-17 game is a prime example (Bills block a punt, score early, and were on the doorstep for more before Ken Norton Jr cheap shotted Kelly’s knee out of the game). But aside from all that, how the Bills got up off the mat season after season to climb that mountain again is a true testament to Levy’s abilities.

3 less than Kelly, and none. I do get your point though, and pound for pound we did have stronger rosters than the 'Phins in those years, but they certainly weren't exactly slouches either. Miami was always a consistent playoff team coached by a legendary HOFer, so it's not like he was never put in a position to win, imho.
