DK Metcalf traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers
No_Matter_What replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is simply not true. He chose two great players at least - Diggs and Miller. And you are simplyfing things a lot but calling Bernard and especially Groot "solid" and Metcalf "great". Rousseau and Metcalf are much closer imo than you make it to be but you put them into different categories so your argument sounds better. I know that you already explained your position on this more than enough so this is just me telling you that I disagree -
2025 Annual Joe Marino Bills Mock Offseason
No_Matter_What replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know he could be lying but he said that Elam was the last player with the first round grade they had. Otherwise I agree. We often seem to have clear hole which forces Beane's hand in the first round. -

Lol I came to post this. I certainly thought that at least one of them will be re-signed before FA. -

I was looking at our roster and cap about an hour ago and realized that I wouldn't be shocked if Milano was surprising post June 1 cut. I'd say chances are little bit higher now. As for Bernard, I like that we are keeping our own, and he was very good most of the time. I am not sure this is the right time and right price, but I'll trust Beane on this one. I hope that we will see actual deal sooner than in Shakir's case

NFL Combine Thread: 1 (PK, DL & LB's)

This comment is not directed to you, but after reading TBD last couple of days it seems that at least 50 prospects are likely to be taken before we pick at 30 -
Players the Bills have met with at Combine
No_Matter_What replied to gonzo1105's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not true. I also remember Basham as consensus 2nd round talent, as @MJS said. And some proofs (first two links I opened): Consensus Big Board - Basham 48 https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2021/consensus-big-board-2021 PFF - Basham 43 https://www.pff.com/news/draft-final-2021-nfl-draft-board-big-board-draft-rankings -

This is why it is sometimes so difficult to discuss Beane's drafting here. People say complete nonsense like this and it derails any rational discussion. First two redrafts I opened: https://www.the33rdteam.com/2021-nfl-re-draft-who-would-every-team-take-3-years-later/ Groot 18 to Miami https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-re-drafting-the-2021-nfl-draft-three-years-later-which-teams-would-pick-differently Groot 12 do Dallas. Yeah, overdrafted. -
I know it is from Sportrac. But same numbers were or Sportrac half a year ago. Same Sportrac says he gained $4M incentive for 6 sacks this season. Those $4M have to affect his cap hit somehow. I don't know how, but I have doubts about current number. @Tuco?
-
Cutting Jones saves $1.7M. Do you really think we can get someone better for that kind of money? I'd wait and see if we can land spm cheap FA or draft someone. @GASabresIUFan I am not and expert, but I don't think Von's numbers are correct. Those are numbers before incentives which he has reached. I guess that they will increase dead cap. Someone will surely educate me

That is really interesting. Jeremiah and your guy Miller have him going at 15 to Falcons, PFF at 16 to Cards. They apparently see something that you don't (not saying they are right)
-
Isn't this a longer list than you usually have for the guys who have reasonable chance to be there when the Bills pick? Granted it is too soon in the process and lot will change but still. I have a feeling that in past years you were not happy with almost any reasonable choices. Also, is there a reason why you didn't list Mykel Williams and Jalon Walker among ends you expect to be off the board? They seem to be consensus top 15 picks. Or did you only mention top guys who were also Bills fits and you don't consider those two to be fits?

I feel Tee Higgins = Peerless Price.
No_Matter_What replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe you mentioned this somewhere, but what do you propose at WR? My understanding is that you wouldn't pay Higgins and you don't like this draft class. So would you bring back Hollins, sign some serviceable FA like Brown or Brown and draft someone (preferably) in first two rounds? -
FINAL v3.0 now LIVE on p.15 - Gunner's 2025 Mock Draft
No_Matter_What replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Btw, this mock draft discussion shows why I find it little unfair to Beane when people (including OP) say that he doesn't draft any difference makers. Gunner (and everyone making mock drafts) is having problems to even find a player we could draft at 30 with a first round grade. There are just not enough blue chip players. All those deemed as blue chip are going top 15. After that it is not a complete crapshoot, but it is just extremely tough to hit on a players that end up great in NFL. I am not saying Beane doesn't have misses or that he shouldn't improve, but I am not holding the fact that he doesn't draft Allpros against him. -

You mean you are in your guys Matt ballpark? -
Agreed. I wrote this couple of times. We have no idea if there was realistic chance to trade up. I'd say it wasn't.

We are currently negative 2.5 mill in cap space for 2025
No_Matter_What replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Absolutely this. People are acting like getting Thomas was an easy thing to do, because they only see he went just 5 picks ahead of our original pick. It wasn't that easy. Maybe Beane tried hard but it was impossible. We didn't have 3rd round pick and it wouldn't be enough anyway. 2nd round could get us to 19 maybe, but who was the trade partner? Like you said, Eagles wanted Mitchell and would miss out if trading with us, Dolphins probably wouldn't trade with us at all, Steelers needed an OT and there was quite a run on them. 19th pick were Rams and they drafted Verse. It is fairly possible that we had precisely zero chance to draft Thomas, but people will still act like Beane was an idiot who only cared about recouping 3rd round pick. -
Wow did he really say this? "We need a real WR"?

This is rare but I agree with this analysis
No_Matter_What replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
My brother is a random football fan from Europe who (like almost nobody on this continent) has never played football or has any idea about X and O's Sometimes through the third quarter he texted me that he didn't get why cold Davis was getting snaps. I told him that it was what we do, rotate RBs. He told me he knew, but it was stupid im this game since it was AFCCG and Cook was extremely hot. So there's that. -
Biggest Cause, Regret, Crime in Loss to Chiefs
No_Matter_What replied to ngbills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not executing the tush push. Execute it like whole season -> win. They were ready for it and it just didn't work. Sad part is that to me it was obvious Allen was in on the 4th down and that 4th down shouldn't even happen (Kincaid was in on the 3rd), but still - if Allen was a yard in as he usually is, we are not having this conversation.
