The Rise of the Snowplow Sports Parents
RobbRiddick replied to Warcodered's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This has been the case for decades. Remember Marinovich's crazy father, or the Williams sisters dad, to name a couple. It's just people who feel like failures trying to live again through their kids. -

I miss the days of real newspapers. It was a lot more fun reading a paper while taking a dump than a small phone screen. And you didn't get distracted by porn either! -
Vince McMahon Considered Buying The Vikings In 1998

Imagine guys running out the locker room and hitting the opposing teams QB over the back with a folded chair when the zebras have their backs turned -

Not looked at the replies here to check, but does anyone else think the guy at 2:11 looks like a fat, slightly f*cked up Josh Allen?

Bills cancel last day of minicamp

I'm hearing reports that individual 'teams' each have to build an effigy of Tom Brady out of general scrap materials. Once McDermott chooses his favorite one they will set fire to it while singing a traditional pagan song. Sounds fun -
I always liked the Bengals. Mainly the helmet design

Fouts or Rivers? Young or Montana?
RobbRiddick replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Young was fantastic but I'd still go with Montana. I used to be adamant that he was better than Brady, when you took into account changes in rules etc. but now I'm not so sure, because there's no denying Brady's excellence, even if I do hate him. Two things that I do put in Montana's favor over Brady: 1. Brady has never torched a team in the SB, as in completely dominated them start to finish. Montana did. He dismantled the Broncos defense (which was number 1 in the NFL that year I believe) from start to finish. 2. And this one is just my own subjective opinion, if I had a gun to my head and had to pick one QB from history to take my team down the field for a winning TD in the final 2 minutes, I'd choose Montana. Brady would be second, but Joe Cool would still be my absolute number one. -
I'm convinced he's just holding on hoping that Belichick retires first, just so there's no chance of him winning a SB with a different QB. He doesn't want the "he only won so much because of the coach". Belichick probably feels the same way. It's a game of chicken

GMFB “Bills will win the AFC East!”
RobbRiddick replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a lot of the people who have really analyzed the Bills and their moves are predicting at least a WC shot at the end of the season. Then there are the lazy ones who just regurgitate the same rhetoric. They're the same people who talk constantly about Allen's completion percentage but have probably never seen more than a couple of games. The media tends to be a copycat thing so as more 'experts' pick us to do well, more will inevitably change their minds as well. -

Who goes up on the Buffalo Bills “Wall of Shame”
RobbRiddick replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, but in keeping with his reputation I think we should only put half his name up there. -

Is Donovan McNabb Hall of Fame Worthy?
RobbRiddick replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With a lot of these guys, I have no idea of what their overall stats were. I just go by how I remember the player, what I saw when I watched them play and whether I remember them dominating much. Have to say my first thought to McNabb was 'absolutely not'. Though there are a few guys who are in the HOF that I don't think should necessarily. To me the HOF should be for the absolute best of the best. He definitely ain't that. -
Yeah. He's great. I get the same vibe watching him play as I got from Favre. Not to compare him to Favre right now in terms of ability, but his demeanour, the way he obviously loves being out there with the guys. He could be playing down the park with a bunch of friends. I really think Allen will soon be one of the favourite players of a lot of other team's fans, or the neutrals out there. The improvisation plays a big part in that too. People can't get enough of QBs who think on their feet and keep trying to make something happen on every play. I don't think it's crazy. I'm usually very conservative when picking my win totals for the season and even I had us down for 11 this year. The tail end is really tough, but if they get a head of steam and don't suffer too many injuries it looks totally doable on paper.

I love that Allen, Darnold and Rosen are in the same division now. I wish the Phins and Jets nothing but misery, but I do hope they become very good players, with Allen a GREAT player and the best of the bunch. I believe Kelly's rivalry with Marino was one of the things that helped him be so great. Just imagine if Tony Eason and Ken O'Brien had been great QBs. Seriously though, I'm loving the young quarterbacks in the NFL now. Guys like Mayfield and Mahomes are taking the torch from the old guard who feel like they've been around forever. It's good to have some new blood and it must help spur each other on in their quest to be the best of the bunch.
