  1. Hope they run some sets with him and Sweeney on the field at the same time and send them both out on routes
  2. It's weird with the Pats, they've got a murderer, a sex trafficker and a cocaine dealer, yet poor Tom Brady decides to make out with his son one day and he gets a majority of the ridicule.
  3. Hope all is well with him. He's one of those players I really missed once he retired, like Favre or Sanders. So good to watch and such a great competitor.
  4. I thought the Orlando Apollos was a good name in the AAF
  5. I watched a little on the TV but not too much. I remember it being quite scrappy, sort of like the AAF and XFL and most other start up leagues. Though they did get a few players who had success in the NFL. Warner being the biggest, but also John Kitna, Adam Vinatieri, Dante Hall, Brad Johnson, James Harrison and Jake Delhomme.
  6. I just looked up the old WLAF uniforms to see if my memory was right. There are definitely some good ones I think. Some awful ones too, like the cloud, but looks like they went with a less is more approach (sorry, this was the best image I could find)
  7. I agree. When you look at the names in the NFL, they're not jokey or overly aggressive sounding. Names like Renegades and Roughnecks sound like they're connected to WWE. It's like they're picked to be 'cool' but like you say, they just come off as lame. But yeah, some of the actual logos are pretty cool. I remember the World League which became NFL Europe. They had some great names and logos when they started, New Jersey Knights, London Monarchs, Raleigh Durham Skyhawks, San Antonio Riders, Barcelona Dragons. There were some bad ones too, but on the whole I think they did a good job with that, and some of the uniforms were actually to the standard of the NFL IMO
  8. I refuse to watch this until the Alliance of American Football season is over. Longest football season I've ever known, though the power rankings haven't changed since about week 6 or 7
  9. It's meant to keep the flies out, same reason I drop lemon wedges in my toilet bowl
  10. I don't mind the negative guys. If the Bills suck in the regular season then they're justified in being that way, if the team is good or great then they will have to change their tune you'd think
  11. Only if he cuts Croom
  12. The only way he'd go is if he 'lost' the team, which I cant imagine happening given his style and his relationship with the players. So even if they were 4-11 heading into the final week, they'd still play hard and give it everything, in which case I'm sure Terry and Kim would put it down to stuff other than the head coach (coodinators, bad luck, Belichick voodoo or something). The co-ordinators would probably go, but not McDermott. He'd need a really poor 2020 on top of that to get fired.
  13. I saw it. I just mean on the whole that was my observation. Like I said, I generally suck at evaluating players so I'm sure I'll be proven wrong
  14. I like Baker. I've said before, I hope Mayfield, Allen, Rosen, Darnold and the rest of these young guys end up great (with Allen being the BEST). It's good for the league and will help them all get better through the rivalry. I'm tired of Brady, Brees and the rest of the old guard now.
  15. Despite my many years of watching football I'll be the first to admit that I'm very average at evaluating players, but I wasn't particularly impressed with Ed Oliver in the two games so far. When I heard Cossell talk about him being engulfed I was a bit shocked as I've not really heard anyone else so far who saw what I saw. Hope I'm wrong and he takes Darnold's head off in week one
  16. I don't mind Sully. The pessimism is okay when so many other fans and media outlets are full of optimism. But his writing style annoys me sometimes. He tends to use very short sentences. Like this. And like the last one. It can sometimes be jarring. But maybe that's just me. Maybe not.
  17. I guess there's a lot more to gain by giving their backups, especially inexperienced ones, looks at starting defenses.
  18. Remember him getting drafted. Doesn't seem all that long ago
  19. The way he starts the video with "I'll admit it, I like Josh Allen" was a bit like an AA introduction, or someone admitting they like listening to John Denver
  20. Based on Jackson's play so far I think I'd rather have Colin Farrell on the roster, but the circus wouldn't fit with the culture they're building, and he wouldn't want to be a third string or even backup so I guess it doesn't matter
  21. I always considered myself a straight man, but then Joshua Allen came along and filled me with such excitement that I started to doubt myself. Then I realised I just really like him as a player and it doesn't make me any less of a man. But I tell you what, if he carries on getting extremely hard earned runs like last season and combines them with some long TDs, I think I may just come round to the idea of creating my own Josh Allen fan club
  22. Kraft bribed Goodell with a 2 year pass to his favorite spa
  23. Spain with another holding call.
  24. The Panthers seem to know what we were doing. I think the SOBs somehow filmed our practice...
