  1. Pot= unenforceable law= what's the point of having a law that cannot be enforced. Abortion= only a concern if you're involved in the decision Both issues = I won't knock on your door and tell you what to do. Don't knock on mine.
  2. I've never seen that. The biggest challenge for young teachers is generally classroom management. The slow painful death of public education seems to be occurring and it is being sped up by the politicization of literally everything. Teachers should absolutely steer clear of influencing children of all ages in the political realm. It is a bedrock of good teaching to facilitate discussion, not to indoctrinate students with political, ideological or religious beliefs. The trick is to be able to talk about those subjects in the realm of an objective educational setting, which is becoming increasingly difficult. As the teaching profession becomes more of a "job", that is to say lower pay, hourly wage babysitting, these standards are eroding...no wonder. The family unit is under a lot of stress from economic, technological and sociological dynamics, combined with the cumulative effects of Covid, this has put kids under a lot of stress. Public schools, IMO, are one of our greatest resources we possess as a country. If we don't preserve public education, there will be millions of kids deprived of not only an education but a safe place to have a meal, interact with peers, connect with supportive adults, and to see a truly accessible route to real success in their lives. Lots of kids don't have much, public schools offer them a lot. Public schools are far from perfect and we should demand that they are objective, open, fair and connected to the wants and needs of the community they serve. That is not to say that communities can make irrational, uniformed and politically motivated demands of schools which they don't know much about. Ask yourself as a professional, parent or tax paying member of a community what your connection is to your local school. If the answer is "not much", then that's part of the growing problem. Far too many people don't know the first thing about their local schools, the laws that govern them, the challenges those schools face, or the great things that happen on a daily basis on the school grounds. Go find out.
  3. Yeah, the geriatric ward nominees for 2024 are shaping up real nice eh?
  4. CNN looking to attract some conservative viewers it seems. Taking a page from the playbook of some of the online influencers who seek just to stir up some controversy (60 % support 40% haters) makes for a lot views/clicks. The CNN/Trump Town Hall appetizer. Wait till they do the Trump/Desantis/CNN Death Dome Match!!
  5. Lots of people fail. It's only step one which is why everyone wants to come here...to at least have a chance. The rest of the steps are up to the individual.
  6. It’s all secondary to the 1st world country you live in with established rule of law, a high functioning infrastructure and the safety and security afforded you by the most powerful military the world has ever seen. I realize your hard work and good family played important roles but people who live in other places not so fortunate have that too but are still unable to succeed as you have. That is my point.
  7. Everything you have is cause “Merica”…wtf? Yer smart enough to make some money but not smart enough to realize that??
  8. Holy sheet…just watched the interview with him…we missed that one, crazy redhead with no front teeth and 7 siblings…DAMN…that’s a can’t miss olineman.
  9. Seems that the Bills feel like Kincaid might be a "generational" type talent and an immediate impact player. He looks to be a really impressive offensive weapon. The only hesitation I share with many on here is the ability of Dorsey to scheme an offense that consistently exposes another team's defensive holes. Kincaid's hands look GREAT!
  10. Yup, he's basically a reflection of my fanhood.
  11. True, but it also means that we are contenders and he wants to be here with this contender for the same amount of money...there were days when that was not the case. Welcome back Jordan!!
  12. Unfortunately I think that is the order and it is established by those that carry the biggest sticks.
  13. Eh, CIA involvement, Donald Rumsfeld hugs, stinger missiles...it's close. Considering the actual definition of a proxy war, I would agree that it doesn't, but it seems to be a "working term" on this thread and I was trying to ask whether the actual definition applied or whether the term was being thrown around loosely to capture US involvement in the Ukraine conflict. Defniition - No, Afghan/Soviet war doesn't meet the definition Use on this thread - Yes, it was a proxy war.
  14. Yes, I think that was a proxy war and I think this is also a proxy war although there are some big differences. I was wondering if B-man, based on the definition, believed the US was complicit in "starting" the war.
  15. prox·y war /ˈpräksē wôr/ Learn to pronounce noun a war instigated by a major power which does not itself become involved. "the end of the Cold War brought an end to many of the proxy wars through which the two sides struggled to exert their influence So, based on the definition, if it is a "proxy war" then the US would have to have started it. Is that your position?
  16. Oh, we definitely did it although Old Joe doesn't know nuthin...not unless he is on a SEAL team or some secret US Navy deep ocean warfare secret squirrel nut unit. Biden's not in control though, the deep state is...and remember, he is too demented to be able to cognitively recognize anything that is happening or even what he is doing. So, the shot was called by the nemesis of Gen Flynn, his old bunkmate from back in his enlisted days who went the Navy route, wears a patch, and is still bothered by a scar from the same bar fight which drove him and Flynn onto separate paths. (He rubs it every time he thinks of Flynn) He became the deepest, darkest deep stater, while Flynn became the humble leader of Qanon in a search for truth and light in a DEEP, DARK state. That's who did it, that guy did it... Did I do this right?? Asking for a friend.
  17. Or, the Ukranians are choosing to fight an aggressor who has invaded their country and has directly targeted civilians, civilian infrastructure and committed numerous war crimes?? Mebbe...
  18. CAUTION**** The above comments seem to be actual respectful political dialogue. This site may have been hacked and you may be in danger!!
  19. It's a violent and cruel world. Arming Ukraine to stop the aggressive, dangerous and criminal regime that runs Russia is an absolute necessity. Otherwise, Ukraine's women and children would be passed out to the oligarchs for sale, their valuable resources usurped and the country defiled. Putin would have a stranglehold on Europe's energy market and would be rattling the stability of NATO. It's hard to imagine a spoiled America, so gutless in it's approach to right and wrong in the world, that would not help Ukraine defend itself against an aggressor such as Vladimir Putin. You wanna live with soft hands and softer bellies under the umbrella of the the greatest military empire the world has ever seen?? This is a small price to pay.
  20. Checking his knee...my assumption is that ankle can be played on...sprained knee means minor tear which could become worse
  21. Just curious about your perspective on flu vaccines.
  22. As a counter to the ESPN pundits...all the beer guzzling fools in my basement that were talking about it this weekend are picking THE BILLS!!! Should carry about as much credence as the ESPN crew.
  23. POST MORE PICS OF YOUR GFs ON YOUR INSTA ACCOUNTS!! PLEASE!
  24. hahaha...yup...this isn't the scenario you're looking for...it should be something like..."Bills get to Super Bowl, BUT, you have to 'spoon with your least favorite sister-in-law for a week of nights'" OR..."you have to spend eternity folding two year old girl clothes"...ya know, a real challenge. A chance to maim and embarrass Brady??? No brainer!
  25. Shouldn't there actually be bi-partisan agreement that Russia needs put in its place and the Ukranian people should have access to weapons to defend themselves?
