  1. 100% agree with the bolded. For me football happening this fall is a huge beacon of hope. With everything going on in the world and at home (kids home for 5 months (1 special needs with no therapy available), etc.) I don't think I've ever been MORE attached to football. I get your position though.
  2. This seems like your way of protecting yourself from getting "hurt" IF the season does get canceled or shortened. Kind of a way to soften the blow so you can tell yourself "yep, I KNEW this would happen!!!".
  3. I wonder if McBeane will even try to convince him. Could be some liability there if he ends up getting sick and then comes out saying he felt pressured to play. Just based on what we've seen from McBeane, I would bet they have told all the guys, "do what is best for you and your family" and likely left it at that as far as trying to convince guys to not opt out. Again, I have no idea for sure, but just my thoughts.
  4. It actually makes me wonder if this will help with their conditioning. I know they sell masks that are used for cardio that force your body to perform with less oxygen (similar to athletes training at altitude...or I guess blood doping lol).
  5. Agreed. I have been cautiously optimistic about a full season, but now that players have reported and its starting to feel more and more real, I'm literally counting down the days to the opener and I'm letting myself buy-in completely!
  6. Might have just been somewhere, on the way to another location and forgot to take it off. If I have to go to a few stores, I'll often leave my mask on in the car but just pull it down a little bit. Just saves time.
  7. Yeah, it's one of those things that is obviously sad, but you look back and think "hey 90+ good healthy years...hard to beat that". My maternal grandparents passed away before I even knew them so out of the two options I'll take 90s please lol.
  8. Yeah it is crazy how fast it can come. The same happened to my fraternal grandparents. Both were driving, playing cards, visiting with friends in their 90s, then when it started to happen they went downhill in a matter of days. Crazy stuff.
  9. The SB days for me were 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade. Formative years. Probably has a lot to do with the way my brain works these days lol. Had to look Marv's age up...he's 95. Good for him! Guy always had a great spirit and attitude. Probably helps with his longevity.
  10. I get it. But he got us to 4. As much as that s%&^ hurt I will forever cherish those days.
  11. I guess this is par for the course...I mean, him not playing a full season for us lol.
  12. Do you have a link?
  13. Agree 100%. To quote The Doors "strange days have found us".
  14. Man, 2021 needs to get here ASAP.
  15. 1) you don't love the game - Maybe they love their families and value their and their family's health more. 2) you are absolutely paranoid by everything the media says - yep, this is all a hoax...nothing to see here folks...nobody has actually died from this fake virus. 3) you knew you were getting cut so you took the money - this I think is possible is some cases (especially undrafted rookies). 4) Because I know there was one case, your life mission is to help others and football doesn't fit right now - can't argue with that.
  16. 14th out of probably hundreds or even thousands, sound pretty good debbie (downer).
  17. Apparently she was both a mother AND a father.
  18. Nope, its a done deal once they submit the paperwork for this year. Don't have a link though.
  19. You always say that, Frost. You always say, "I got a bad feeling about this drop." Sorry, I instantly thought of Aliens when I saw your post (probably my favorite 80's movie). Edit: For the super young and the super old, this was a quote from the insanely amazing 1986 James Cameron movie "Aliens".
  20. If the dominoes start falling and the season does happen as planned, this year will really show who the great coaches are if they have to work with a revolving door of players and replacement players. I didn't know his brother was immune compromised, thought he had severe development issues (I believe shaken baby by some bastard). That is scary stuff.
  21. It's great to have football news again...but I would be perfectly thrilled if nothing more newsworthy in the NFL happened until week 1 lol.
