  1. Thats good news for you all up there Hammer. I'll bet the Generators are either for water or sewer systems. Did you lose any of your trees?
  2. Glad you found one. Get a large eye bolt, a lock and some big chain and you should be alright from generator thieves. During the Hurricanes we had people push lawnmowers next to generators and steal them, thinking what they heard running was the generator... Don't forget to file with FEMA and they'll re-imburse you some, if not all of the cost of the Generator. Hang in there, Good Luck.
  3. I just spoke to my aunt in Tonawanda, and just as I thought the neighbors are helping her out. One of them has a generator and has run a line to her sump pump, they've also done the shoveling and helping her get her electric garage door open. (We lost my Uncle last year, and she's in her mid 70's so you can see why I was concerned about her.) All I can say is, Thank God for the true WNY community spirit of neighbor helping neighbor in time of need. Also, If you know someone without power, usually they will restore it in this order: 1. Hospitals and essential Health Care Facilities. 2. Police, Fire, Govt. bldgs., including water treatment facilities. 3. Commercial (ie Home Depot, Wal Mart, Tops, etc.) 4. Multi Family Residential 5. Single Family Residential. At least thats how they did it in Fla. after the last 3 hurricanes. Not sure how it works in WNY anymore since I've been gone for 20 yrs., but I imagine its the same way all across the country.
  4. I spoke to my aunt in Tonawanda around 7:30 PM, she was pretty much in the same boat as you with the flooding basement. She sounded pretty frazzled about it. I was thinking she could call the Fire Dept to see if they could help her out if it gets too bad. I'll call her in the AM and see how she's doing. Not much I can do from down here in Fla.. Having been through 3 major hurricanes down here in the past 2 yrs., I can sympathize with the loss of electricity. My experience with getting a Generator after the 1st Hurricane was that they were no where to be found for several days, finally Home Depot got some in, and they were leaving the store as fast as they came off the truck. I was fortunate to get one with a Honda Engine. If you have your choice get a Honda Engine . that puts out at least 5000 Watts, be sure to buy some extra gas cans and extra quarts of Oil. They're gas hogs, and you have to change the oil every 50 hrs, which doesn't sound like much until you have to run it for a couple days. Make sure to get extension cords, and 220 plug adapters if you need them. One other thing get a chain and lock and lock it so it doesn't disappear in the middle of the night. At least down here in Fla., Generators getting stolen was a big problem. Might take a few months but, FEMA will re-imburse you up to $800 for your generator.... Good Luck, let us know how you make out.
  5. WGRZ has live streaming coverage... After being through 3 Hurricanes the past 2 yrs down here in Fla, I can really sympathize with everyone up there for being without power.. There was some pics I saw of a plane the size of a 737 tipped on it's tail at Bufffalo Intl.. Thats some pretty heavy snow. Typical Snow Belt storm, hit and miss in some areas.
  6. didn't need to see that Googled it for you dib....
  7. I have our "D" for my team, it was -3 pts due to the score this week.I have Evans and it helped with his 94 yds and TD, it gave me 15 pts. It's good to see us break their home record.
  8. Sorry to hear about the runaround Hammer.. They weren't being good neighbors. I'm sure they'll make it up to you somehow. Maybe a nice gift certificate to the pro shop.
  9. Heya Frez, I thought we'd do something after the onside kick.. Last time we opened at home vs the Jets, they killed us with the KO return for a TD. Today it was a combination of things. One thing I noticed today is, this team needs to master the weather in RWS like the SB era teams did. Gettem out there Marv... Despite the loss, I'm sure several of the younger players walked away learning something. Still it sucks to lose in the Division, especially the Jets at Home.
  10. From what I understand, there's a company based in Rochester which did alot of those aerial photos for local live. http://www.pictometry.com/default.asp Must be a Bills fan or 2 working there and they threw that pic in there..
  11. General Lee, Thanks for posting the direct link... If you rotate it to the East view, it looks like there's players practicing on the field... http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=...=2&scene=336766
  12. If you pan west and look at the edge of Lake Erie near Lackawanna, you can still see chunks of Ice in the river. Also,if you pan up to Galleria Mall there appears to be remnants of a snow pile in the parking lot. If you'd like to see a good picture of RWS, got here: http://local.live.com/ find it on the map and select Birds eye
  13. I liked going to games there also, but haven't been back since I got tossed out by Security. When I was with Bob Lamb on a Sunday night game(Long Story), back when Derrick Holmes was playing... LOL
  14. Jarhead Jim, Glad you got a chance to see the game.... Keep up the good work over there. Hopefully you'll get the chance to go see a game when you get back to the states..
  15. Peter, You sure that wasn't a Sunday night game, and it was raining out? If it was, I was there and remember going down to the lower deck behind the Bills bench in the 4th qtr and the whole section was all Bills fans who came down from there seats all over the stadium. We were singing the "na na na Goodbye song"... We definetely outnumbered the Dolfans that night.
  16. Moormans punts inside the 5, the blocked Dolphin punt, Welker shut down for the most part, Lindell making a couple nice FG's, and some good kickoffs depsite the crappy baseball infield on the field.... Not sure if anyone noticed, but looking at it in slo-mo it looks like Tripplett or Anderson might've got a hand on the missed Mare FG...
  17. LABillz was probably watching the game with Fabio and some hottie Russian girls
  18. Not the same team he left. We didn't run the end around every other 3rd down... Gonna be a fun season watching this Defense... The OL will gel within a couple weeks and will greatly improve... I know it's only week 2, we should all be excited about this team. It's a good time to be a Bills fan, and actually see a young Bills team with a bright future, led by a good coaching staff.
  19. Thanks for the link Gmac, I saved it to my Favorites. They were wrong last week as far as the game in WPB Fl., luckily for me the Bills/Pats were on instead of the Jets. But I'm not blaming the site, since the cable guides all had the Jets game as being on also.... I'll bet there were some P/O'd Jets fans down here....
  20. Frez, I think they opened some eyes today... We might have lost, but teams won't take us lightly this year..
  21. Glad to hear they caught him.
  22. Hi Lori, I spoke to my mother who lives in Kane today.(Not far from the one guy who was harboring "Bucky" and some of his weapons.) She ran into one of my old freinds/neighbors who has been with PSP for several years. Supposedly those guys are getting used to living from suitcases... God bless them. Hopefullly they catch this !@#$ very soon.
  23. I really liked him in "Used Cars" with Kurt Russell. He played 2 roles."I'm Roy B Fuchs GD it!" Very good comedy with some late 70's humor....
  24. I watched Blaine in NYC a couple months after 9/11. Maybe 3-4 of us watching him him do a couple tricks in front of our eyes on some street near Times Square. I was truly amazed. At the time I didn't know who he was and when I saw him on TV several months later I was like "Hey, I saw this guy in NYC on the street." The 2 tricks he played in front of us: Cigarette through a Quarter, and the Quarter fitting into the Beer Bottle, stick in my mind. The guy is a great magician. Proud to say I met him. Blaine by a landslide for me.
