  1. I agree, as I posted earlier ("my biggest concern for next year...") If we stay on the present course, we'll be in the same boat (pretenders) next year. QB play is the biggest factor. Unfortunately, IMO JP won't be ready and we need to do some free agent shopping for a QB (Kurt Warner?).
  2. The home & away games have been decided already? Really?
  3. is that the offense as presently constituted simply cannot function effectively against good defenses. This means that we will never win anything meaningful on our present course, even though MM's run-first philosophy seems capable of squeezing out consistently winning regular seasons. Assuming that a winning season alone isn't good enough, how can we go deep into the playoffs? I think the key is to get better play out of the QB position, especially against the top defenses when quality QB play matters most. Unfortunately, I don't think that JP is capable (yet) of leading the team. My suggestion is to bring in a "bridge" QB like Kurt Warner that can take over the team until JP is ready. He performed pretty well for the Giants before being yanked in favor of Manning. Change can be a good thing, and I say that sticking with Drew might get us winning seasons, but won't get us far beyond that.
  4. Did Donahoe just get dumb because we lost?
  5. Show me how Moulds is a winner? He comes up soft far too often. What's with the drops today in the most important game of the year? Let him go. After every poor game he says "we" didn't play well enough. He NEVER singles himself out. Bye Bye
  6. Did he put his hands out to block on that play? I couldn't see it on the replay. If not, wasn't he just running his route (inside slant)?
  7. Same here. But what does access to TSW during the game add? I wouldn't bother.
  8. You have no idea what you are talking about. Sure there are some stereotypical gov't employees out there, especially in the lower levels of gov't (I'm not even going to mention City or County employees) but overall it's a lot different than you think at the Federal level. My agency is run like a business and I'm constantly being measured against business production benchmarks. Oh, and with the war & resulting budget cuts, the idea of a gov't job lasting forever is a fallacy also. That said, congrats Nick - I'm happy for you.
  9. I AM a Billiever!!!!!!!!!!!! Think they'll play the old Monkees' song at the Ralph Sunday?
  10. It's a success regardless of what happens Sunday. IMO, this season has yielded the following: 1) We have found our coach & staff. 2) TD has solidified his position as the unquestioned leader of the franchise. 3) Willis is officially a stud, and Lee is well on the way. Kelsay is the real deal. Villarreal has been a successful FA "plug-in" at guard. Our secondary is solid with Milloy & Vincent at the safety positions. Clements & McGee at the corners are good if McGee gets help. Our special teams have progressed mightily under April. Peters and Bannan have interesting possibilities for the future. 4) Gray has resolved any concerns about whether he could handle a defense on his own, and has been locked into a contract extension. 5) Losman was a no factor, but he has 1 season with the team under his belt. Even if, based on the results Sunday, we need to label this year a "transitional" season, I think that the transition has successfully been made between the depths of despair and real hope to compete for a SB. My hats off to the organization - things are coming together.
  11. Wow, interesting. He will certainly land on his feet somewhere. If Moulds can't come back, maybe you make Peerless the #2 and make Lee the #1. The guy does have skills, he's just not a #1 receiver.
  12. Partying at home with the wife & 5 & 9 year old. Looking forward to it.
  13. Freaking hilarious. Maybe she could make a little voodoo doll of Pennington and pull his right arm off, or another extremity. Thanks for helping the cause. I feel pretty confident about the game now.
  14. I've posted this before but I really think TD has been personally scouting the Steelers all year and he's got a notebook full of input for MM this week.
  15. Are there still people out there watching CNN?
  16. Hopefully the Rams fans don't come up soft. They were surprisingly quiet on Monday night.
  17. Seriously, do you think that the DC of the opposing team (or a position coach)checks the numbers of every opposing player coming out onto the field before every play? If that's the case, I'm impressed. I would have thought there's too much going on just making sure your own personnel are in position.
  18. The reason you don't see an onsides kick to start a game is that the risk-reward ratio on that play is way too high. If the play succeeds, big deal. You basically just won the coin toss & get a decent drive start. If it fails, you give the opponent great field position to start the game and risk falling behind almost immediately.
  19. Well it all started with John Rigas needing a little extra walking-around money, and it just kept going downhill from there.
  20. Here's a link to the story on nfl.com. Not sure if the link will work but at least you have the address: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/8043899
  21. It's on NFL network. All NFL, all the time. Best thing since sliced bread.
  22. I have little doubt that TD has been personally scouting the Steelers all season in preparation for this game. We will get it done.
