  1. Class of 1990 here. Please don't remind me about Masiello. This is supposed to be about Griffin pride.
  2. If I'm JP, I MUST go to the coaches and demand that they lay out for me a detailed offseason program that I can follow to put myself in position to be the starter in September.
  3. The Silver Fox is at it again. He's a great politician.
  4. I'd rather have Warner. But I agree that we need a transitional guy that is not DB.
  5. We need to move to Anybody But Bledsoe for 2005. If JP isn't ready to get on the field in September, then you have to start wondering if he was worth a 1st round pick.
  6. This just in - Marv hasn't been our coach for several years. What he says about our personnel is irrelevant and has no bearing on who plays and who doesn't. He's a voice in the wilderness in search of a head coaching job.
  7. I wish the Steelers had played the team that will win the SB this year.
  8. AMEN. Look where it got us.
  9. Penetrating insight.
  10. Nobody answered my question yet from earlier - did Reed put out his hands as if to block the defender, or was he just running the interference (i.e., route) he was asked to run? Was it REALLY Reed's interference or was it the play call that put him in that position? It was hard to tell on the TV replay, but it almost looked like he ran into the guy & wasn't blocking with his hands. If that's the case, I would argue (if I was MM) that he was just running the route called for by the play.
  11. Thanks for telling us all how to think or act. I never would have expected that from you!
  12. What was his record as a starter this year before getting pulled? I think it was pretty decent, with a weak supporting cast.
  13. I saw it, I think, only on one series. If the Bills brain trust had such confidence in DB's field generalship and play calling ability against a top notch defense, why not let Drew call the plays and audible out of bad plays? Especially at home? I was shocked after the recent success that the Bills didn't go no huddle. Is this due to a lack of confidence in Drew, coaching ego (needing to call all the plays) or a concern about our ability to run the no-huddle and still control the clock? Would like to hear your thoughts on this. To me, it points out an overall lack of confidence in putting the game in DB's hands.
  14. Now Sue needs to go do her homework before she posts! Haven't seen a response to this one yet. Ouch.
  15. The marketing campaiogn was fine, it was the play on the field that was the problem.
  16. Kumbayah my Lord, Kumbayah, Oh, Looord, Kumbayah!
  17. is to upgrade the QB position. DB will do enough in the regular season against weaker defenses to stay above .500, but he cannot beat top defenses the likes of which we will see in the playoffs. If we are going to the next level, it won't be with Drew and (for next year at least) I don't think it will be with JP either. We need to bring in a FA QB like Kurt Warner.
  18. I agree, as I posted earlier ("my biggest concern for next year...") If we stay on the present course, we'll be in the same boat (pretenders) next year. QB play is the biggest factor. Unfortunately, IMO JP won't be ready and we need to do some free agent shopping for a QB (Kurt Warner?).
  19. The home & away games have been decided already? Really?
  20. is that the offense as presently constituted simply cannot function effectively against good defenses. This means that we will never win anything meaningful on our present course, even though MM's run-first philosophy seems capable of squeezing out consistently winning regular seasons. Assuming that a winning season alone isn't good enough, how can we go deep into the playoffs? I think the key is to get better play out of the QB position, especially against the top defenses when quality QB play matters most. Unfortunately, I don't think that JP is capable (yet) of leading the team. My suggestion is to bring in a "bridge" QB like Kurt Warner that can take over the team until JP is ready. He performed pretty well for the Giants before being yanked in favor of Manning. Change can be a good thing, and I say that sticking with Drew might get us winning seasons, but won't get us far beyond that.
  21. Did Donahoe just get dumb because we lost?
