  1. Kelly, where did you see/read these bits? I'd like to learn more.
  2. Interesting question. The Bills app contains a story with extensive quotes from Gruden about Marrone, all glowing. Gruden used to coach vs. Marrone 2x/yr. when the Bucs played the Saints while Marrone was in N.O.
  3. Well at least we have one open minded poster here.
  4. Luke Russert, Luke Russert's Mom 16 -0 (Sorry, Senator)
  5. The beauty of this deal is, it was a team effort. While it's reasonable to conclude that Brandon was ultimately responsible for the hire considering his connections to SU and Marrone's interest in analytics, it's also clear that Buddy's work over the last three years on the roster made it possible to land Marrone. As Schefter's video points out, Marrone's extensive film study on the Bills, Browns, Eagles and Chargers resulted in him concluding that the Bills had the most talent on their roster, making Buffalo a desireable landing spot for him. Clearly, Marrone's landing here was a product of both Brandon and Nix.
  6. I connect the dots as follows: Bills interviewed Lovie already + Marrone tied to Lovie at Tenn. + Lovie runs a 4-3 = Bills going hard after Lovie as DC.
  7. Good name for Jeremy White. I never hear him start a sentence by saying "I think..." or "In my opinion...". He just KNOWS EVERYTHING. Very annoying.
  8. It appears that that's Brandon's intent. How many times in his remarks did he talk about "empowering people"? To me, that is code for "no more meddling from above".
  9. No wonder he was hired! This snippet from his resume: • Named 'America's Friendliest College Football Coach' by ESPN the Magazine. 10. Turned it around to.......the PinStripe Bowl?
  11. Need to know the coordinators before I can form a reaction. If it's a college staff, I'll be very disappointed. It will have a minor league feel.
  12. What "info." is Graham basing his tweet on?
  13. Was thinking the same thing. TG left himself a nicely crafted way out.
  14. Disagree completely. A signed 5-year contract with the Bills is as guaranteed as a signed 5-year contract with anyone else. If you have doubts, ask Chan Gailey, who will continue collecting Ralph's checks for quite some time (UNTIL HIS CONTRACT EXPIRES).
  15. Agreed. I find Reid's continuing his career uninterrupted a bit disturbing at this point.
  16. OK yea, that is THE worst.
  17. Agreed - the 2 most painful to listen to are the one with the annoying young parents talking about strollers, and the two siblings fighting over one copying the other's every word - "Stop copying me"! "Stop copying me"! Also, anyone else thrilled that the Transsiberian Orchestra's "The Lost Christmas Eve" concert is over?
  18. Not sure if there's any deeper meaning here or any strategic considerations related to the Bills, but I do know that Mr. Pegula is one heck of a sportsman!
  19. Apparently I was not clear because you completely misunderstood what I was saying. I said THAT marketing strategy (referring to your theory of going for Marrone to garner the massive and untapped Syracuse market) pales (in other words, is far subordinate to) trying to win. Brandon has been successful at making chicken salad out of chicken sh** in the past, but he also knows that with his ascendency he's now responsible for winning, and ultimately he knows that winning is the best possible marketing strategy. Bottom line, there is no part of your theory I agree with.
  20. Crazy theory. How will the Syracuse market react if Marrone crashes and burns? That "marketing strategy" pales in comparison to winning. I believe they're trying to make the right decision in order to win, whether that happens to be Marrone or not.
