2022 Free Agency - Around the NFL Thread
TheWeatherMan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d rather give a guy a shot who has a chance at making the roster. Even if your played out of position those stats are putrid. Ted Washington has more INTs and TD’s than this guy. -

This is the guy you want? I think Billy Buffalo could best these stats, and yes in costume. “In three seasons, according to Pro Football Focus, he’s allowed a 68.8 percent catch rate with six touchdowns, zero interceptions and a 112.5 passer rating. With Jackson entering the final season of his four-year, $6.26 million contract, the cap-strapped Packers could wipe his base salary of just over $1.33 million off the books.” https://www.si.com/nfl/packers/.amp/news/what-happened-to-josh-jackson -
Tua is a scrub until he isn’t.

Sometimes you just gotta cut bait. I hope I’m wrong!!

I don’t think is fair to compare Keuchley to Edmunds. Also McD had had a top 3 CB at the time on his roster who got paid by Washington and stopped trying. I’m picking up what your putting down on the importance of continuity of captaincy but let’s be honest Von can fill that role.
-
You mean like the one Edmunds continually misses 😂. In all seriousness, he’s still extremely you and has tons of untapped potential but his salary does not match his play IMHO. An upgrade at CB (especially if Tre misses time) could arguable be more pivotal to the Def than a MLB. I’m not sold on a rookie DB improving our SB odds next year. In the future, yes, just not this year.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)

I’d be beyond pissed at Arizona if this was how it played out. Our offense would be unstoppable with Williams and Hall. Snag an FA CB and we’re set. -
Tyreek seeking a trade [Now: Traded to the Dolphins]

So Miami is going all in with Tua? I don’t get it, you have to build off a franchise QB and they have two backups in the roster. They have 3 awesome WRs, two great CBs and a drastically improved OL. Problem is, they have no QB. I don’t get why the Phins would push all their chips into the center of the table this year. -

Re sign Star and then cut him again, this time post June 1st -
1 year wonder, glad the kid is finally being utilized correctly. It was the right decision to stay with ATL.

Maybe a Carolina RB? They didn’t get Watson so maybe back on the block. -
Allen Robinson to the Rams - 3 years, $46.5M
TheWeatherMan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
We’ve lost 2 WRs and have not signed any replacements. Looks like we will be targeting the draft for one. I’d anticipate adding one from the FA lot. Too bad on Robinson, 15M per is a solid deal the Rams got. -

Agree, a one year deal would most likely vault his worth in 2023. If he took a 1yr / 8 Mil deal, he would be a 22-24 Mil per year WR next year. If he didn’t play for the Bears, he would have signed a mega deal by now. -

And he might be out the first couple months of the season. So we won’t have our 1 or 2 CB. We needs CB’s desperately. -
Or adds 100 fake years onto the backside of the deal to spread the cap hit out 3 million per year.
-
Think of it a pliable not fake. Eventually it can be stretched too thin and you have to cut/restructure half your roster every off season like the Cowpies and Taints.

Bills converting Matt Milano salary to signing bonus

Beasley still on the roster last I checked and a 2 year deal does not indicate to me that he is in the plans long term. We will see what happens with Cole. -
If Star didn’t opt out in 2020 he would be off the books.

Surprised not hearing more Bills restructures/cuts

That’s my understanding.
