  1. Build through the draft; get young. Don't blow money on stupid contracts for aging Free Agents. Spend smartly on quality free agents. Jason Verett could be a nice pick-up if he comes dirt cheap because his talent is top tier - but he is injury prone.
  2. If you listened to Allen's press conference; he's not looking to run. Just a by product of him going through his progressions, no one open (his perception), and his internal clock and defensive rush coming to. He said if he runs for 100 or runs for 2, he just wants to win. People want him to quit running, but why? If that is what the defense gives him, what is wrong with a 25 yard scamper and slide? Baffles me when you have a QB who can create more time and space with his legs if needed and people want him to stop. As his passing improves, man talking about one of the greatest dual threat QBs to come around. Some of his hardest hits came on sacks where three players absolutely crushed him.
  3. You know who doesn't drop that ball??? Antonio Brown or Keenan Allen. Why? Because they don't let the ball hit them in the chest pads and bounce off. They use their hands. Freaking football 101. That's a 17 yard hitch; you either throw with anticipation before the receiver makes his break; or you throw with power as he makes his break. If not, that's a Peterman special waiting to happen. One of the major issues with Zay Jones is that he tends to body-catch balls.
  4. Lack of production???? Apparently you base everything on college stats. Kid took a dreadful 2-8 team in 2015 to two straight bowl games in 2016 and 2017. By your standard; Ty Detmer, Andre Ware, and David Klinger should have been NFL Hall of Famers.
  5. Right. My point is a downfield attack will lend itself to a decreased completion percentage and more dangerous throws. Allen was on point early with a quick attack and marched right down the field. Then Daboll began to call a more downfield attack and I don't think the Bills are built for a sustained downfield attack like the Chiefs are for example.
  6. ...and if you watched any of Wyoming's games, you will notice their offense was a downfield attack - similar to what he is operating in now.
  7. Here is one take away you can take from all the work put into this thread. Look at the first Quarter where Allen drove the team down the field with accurate short quick routes (as well as a long run). He was accurate and had some rhythm. Then Daboll reverts back to a longer passing tree, and while Allen hits some big gainers, the routes take longer to develop and the line has to block longer. Bottom line: you can see where the offensive game plan shift away from quick hitters to longer developing routes - thus a decrease in completion percentage. If Daboll can stay disciplined in his play calling, Josh's completion percentage will improve dramatically in my opinion. I understand the temptation with the arm talent Josh has to call a downfield passing game, but the team is not quite built for that yet, and Josh needs to continue to refine his short game.
  8. Now that the playoffs are finally out of reach. Here is what I want to see with the development of Allen. 1. Focus on the short game. Quick outs, side screens, RB Flares, TE Digs, etc. Dabol must stay disciplined in calling these because they were working early in the game. Practice, Practice, and Practice these plays. 2. Throw in a few more deep shots to get timing and catchable balls down with the speed guys. Learn how to draw pass interference penalties if the pass can't be caught. With Allen's arm, he can throw 50+ yards on a three step drop with loft on the ball and let the receiver out sprint the DB to the spot (or try and draw a PI). 3. Lastly, focus on the short game. Quick outs, side screens, RB Flares, TE Digs, etc. Practice, Practice, and Practice these plays. Allen's middle game is solid, especially when he has time to throw. It's the short and long game that needs work and constant repetition. Wins and losses shouldn't really matter anymore. These are live practice reps for the next three weeks - work on the things that need to most improved.
  9. Oh my God. our rookie QB threw two interceptions and had a fumble - The sky is falling. You're such a "chicken little."
  10. Not sure I said he was great or anything; just stated he was a better version of Benjamin and not the most crisp of route runners. Am I wrong?
  11. Tyrell Williams is a better version of Benjamin. Great hands, fast, and gives 100% effort. Not the greatest route runner but good enough.
  12. I think your statement can apply to most Bills fans regarding Allen prior to the draft. Many of them still hold the same sentiment.
  13. Bottom line: Is he improving? Is he developing? The answer is yes and that is what most people stated they wanted to see coming back from the injury. While he still makes some of the same mistakes, such as holding on the ball too long or some accuracy issues, the ratio of mistakes versus good plays is steadily moving in the right direction. He's been more decisive with his throws and has shown the ability to extend plays and gain critical first downs. The game is beginning to slow down for him and I think getting Dabol out of the press box and on to the field has helped as well.
  14. Perhaps a bad throw on Allen, but on the replay Benjamin ran a lazy route, stopped running, then tried again once the ball was out. Shouldn’t have thrown it, but Benjamin is freaking loafing.
  15. Why not investing in the trenches???
  16. Good write up. Thing to remember is, the kid is raw and his potential is truly untapped - which was to be expected. Imagine where he can be with a whole offseason of studying defenses and improved weapons. The future looks extremely bright.
  17. Meh. What's he putting out there other than disrespecting his fellow man; who I assume he will need support when it comes to CBA negotiations. He sure has been quiet that past few weeks, (shedding tears), and then wants to talks trash again. I guess to some that's cool and hip, to others find it disrespectful when it's off the field and never even met the man. To each their own.
  18. I hope Bills fans at the stadium make poster boards with Ramsey in a baby bonnet, diaper, and a pacifier in his mouth. Dude is like an overly sensitive baby!
  19. Lol; you're just so serious!!! "No more excuses"..."I don't care what the situation is"..."it's going to get ugly." You're nothing more than a fan on a message board, you affect NOTHING.
  20. The 100th different title to discuss the same topic. Creative!
  21. Is there anyone on this offense ( maybe McCoy) who could start on any other team?
  22. Then perhaps he shouldn’t be in the league
